Potential problems with access to 10g EUL with 4i discoverer desktop?

Hi all

We have recently upgraded to Discoverer 10 g of 4i and still have a number of computers of the users with the old 4i desktop client. They have the ability to access the 10g EUL using the 4i client and I would like to know of any potential problem with them doing so.

A 4i Desktop cannot access a 10g EUL. When you did the upgrade you probably enriched by using the same schema, alias name of EUL.

What's happened is that Discoverer 10 g installed a brand new 10g EUL in the same schema. 10 GB objects that all start with EUL5, the discoverer 4i objects while all begin with EUL4. The upgrade was non-destructive, which means that your old 4i posts clients and Desktop 10g clients can coexist, however they not have access the EUL even. 4i clients will connect to the old discoverer EUL 4 and your new or those connecting through a URL, will be connected to the 10g EUL. Any changes made in one as all new workbooks will not appear in the other.

If you are satisfied with the upgrade, you must install Discoverer 10 g Desktop on any machine that still has access by computer, and then remove the installation 4i. If you want everyone to use a browser to connect you need to uninstall all versions of office 4i.

In addition, if you have many versions of office you use is no longer, you should ask your Oracle sales representative if they will convert these licenses in other licenses for you. You paid good money for them and they are still valid as long that you have to pay the annual maintenance and support. Some sales representatives do not realize that it can be done.

    Could someone advise if there could be potential problems with the copy of his stats?

    What I see, HIGH_VALUE and LOW_VALUE are the same for every single partition for the SQL below:

    Select nom_partition, HIGH_VALUE, LOW_VALUE from dba_part_col_statistics where table_name = column_name 'CALL' IN ("MSN");


    Will this result in CBO plan fetching suboptimal on SQL running on the table with predicate such as MSN and EVENT?

    Please suggest me resolution approaches.

    It will depend on (among other things), how use you it as a predicate and unique how the column is.

    If you try to filter using predicates of beach in function with a range outside the stats then the CBO will be predicate weak cardinalities and therefore will promote the access of the index and nested loops which leads to this.

    If you are filtering on equality predicates and the key is unique there should be no problem really.

    It will depend also on whether the request knows which partition will be scanned, otherwise it will use global statistics, which will be probably the same as a partition, but they could easily change if you were to collect stats on any other partition.

    You have an environment you can use a test and see approach?

  • Problem with Creative Cloud Desktop app for Windows 8.1 update

    Hi, I have updated my desktop and laptop to Windows 8.1 over the last day and have noticed a problem with the Cloud Desktop creative application.

    Some menu items when I right click on either the CC system tray icon, or click the menu settings in the interface of the application itself does not show.  I've included a screenshot of the problem.

    I tried to uninstall and reinstall the desktop application, but it did not work.  Any ideas?

  • Potential problems with bulk assigned DN ranges

    Nobody knows possible problems with loading up to say unassigned 100 DN at the Complutense University of MADRID (8,6) with all the parameters number of directory but not assigned to a device?

    The end of the game here is that we have a few 100 DIDs that are reserved for different reasons (diff ILA or for a client) that we loaded in the system, so they are reserved and no one is going to try and use them (the idea being someone will add a DID this description will fill and they know they need to enter a different DID).

    I can even send to the unit, but don't think it's important because they are all NEW DIDs that were never sold or announced.

    Our team of engineers seems to think that this will cause a problem such as call manager will be under heavy load constantly trying to figure out what devices attached to these DNs unassigned.  I say no because they have never been assigned to a device are are essentially a placeholder.

    This would cause a problem?

    If so - how guys do you manage your DIDs unused in call manager - it seems terribly archaic to manage a spreadsheet with unused DID we rely on the entire team through the world to update when they make changes when we have essentially a database (Manager call) here to do it for us!

    Thoughts?

    This will not cause any problems and can be performed without risk. In addition you can make the inactive DNs if you prefer.

  • Problems with Aero and Desktop Manager

    All these problems started after I downloaded an upgrade of windows (last year I think). Whenever I started my computer to the taskbar and stuff Aero initiated very well, then after a few seconds the taskbar became white and disable Aero. Now, it is even worse, Windows just to start with the Basic (looking for old windows) theme and even if I try to restart the Desktop Window Manager, it will not work. Yesterday I installed and Nvidia card (the PC came with a built-in video chip only) and I was hoping to get the fix for the problem, but did not *. I also downloaded the Fix Aero tool and nothing. Even the msconfig.exe won't help. What can I do? It frustrates me.

  • problems with my moving desktop icons on the left side

    I also have problems with my icons on the desktop from the left side - which BTW, I liked, at the center of the screen.

    I bought a new Toshiba laptop which has windows 8 and I hate it. I'm sure it's windows 8, which is causing problems, not on the computer, but I'm * to have so many problems and it was not yet 14 days since I've owned this thing. Maybe it's true - once you go Mac there is not coming back. I'm done with this Windows *.

  • Problems with Creative Cloud Desktop on the migration of the old MacbookPro to new MacbookPro

    It is not a question but more my recent experiences with migrating from an old (mid-2010 MacbookPro 17 ") to a new MacbookPro (mid-2015) and the consequences regarding the CC Apps.

    I didn't know that he would have problems with creative cloud during the migration process (or I don't think there should be), but clearly there is something about how Adobe Connect all of the CC following your computer as part of the license agreement which means that you cannot migrate right and it will be honky dory (that's Aussie for you beauty or top notch or large if you) prefer) just like any other piece of software on my laptop that comes with a software "KEY" to the license.  Every other piece of software migrated perfectly and works perfectly without having to reenter the KEYS so he beat me that Adobe makes it so damned awkward... but anyway... it is what it is.  The fact that the license agreement allows you to have the software installed on 2 machines is another reason it intrigues me that you cannot migrate seamlessly.

    What alerted me on an issue after that migration was that Desktop CC crashed suddenly on a cold start.  So I looked at these forums and found a thread that explains how to remove Desktop CC and reinstall.  It worked but later in the day after a reboot it CC Desktop crashed again.  Put it back, once again failed.  Discovered that the preferences Office CC file has not been deleted by the CC Office uninstall App manually deleted, empty the trash, rebooted, reinstalled and it worked.  Next reboot, it crashed it again.  What the...

    Now I'm about to throw the laptop out the window, but it became clear that I had to remove every single application under the CC and then clearing debris NOT removed by uninstall of applications. It became a nightmare after nearly 6 hours of effort.

    From 23:00 last night I gave her one last shot.  Uninstalling, cleaning of CC tool, kill everything, throw it in the trash, reboot and reinstall.  Sam with my fingers crossed and poof, it just.  Winner winner chicken dinner.  Click on install both applications LI and PS, then set the computer laptop do not sleep and stop at the bed.  In the morning, she did, and after a reboot, everything is good.  SO FAR.

    Hope this might help someone else who is having similar levels of grief.

  • potential problems with executable files using VISA

    Hi, I have a LV 2012 SP1 source code developed under Windows 7. The source code uses VISA for serial communication. I built from this source code executables that work without problems on a PC with Windows 7.
    Now I use Windows 8 and build the executables from the same source code, I have used before. However, when you use the new executables (under Windows 8) on the same PC with Windows 7 as before, I get an error in the communication of VISA.

    The error is: property node (arg 1) in .vi VISA set up a Serial Port (Instr)

    Once again: 1. executables built under Windows 7 work on a PC under Windows 7

    2. executables built under Windows 8 will not work on a Windows 7 PC (error VISA)

    Suggestions, which could be at the origin of this are most welcome.

    An EXE that uses the VISA must be the VISA installed runtime.  It is like not having not drivers for your program.  Create a Setup program using the similar project about how you made an EXE file.  Include the exe in the installation program and under additional installers choose the software that is required by the EXE.  This will usually include the runtime LabVIEW and VISA.  From 2013 the additional installers will try to predict the software needed by the EXE.

    I want to spend the hard drive of my laptop, but my laptop did not come with recovery discs. I buy a full copy of Windows 7 Professional, but I did save it... because when everything has failed, I guess. If I'm able to reinstall Win 7 Home or if I have to install Win 7 Pro, how can I be sure to reinstall all drivers HP (p. ex., trackpad, meaning cool, beats audio, etc.) for my machine? It is best to download the drivers before you install the new hard drive and have them ready on a flash drive. or is there an easier way? Thank you.

    I personally prefer the new OEM installation & then get required drivers to download for HP support for your laptop model.

    It is slower and more difficult to do if it is not too well known, but the end result is much better.

    If your system has flaws you should try to fix first, but better long-term results come from clean install generally.

  • Remote - problem with full screen desktop

    I use Win 7 for a few months now, and the user experience is great!

    Remote Desktop software update is large but with a very annoying problem that I am facing.
    I use this to access my PC on my home LAN. I left once his mode full screen I need a windowed mode to work, but since I was not able to return to full screen. I tried to restart the sessions remotely, Resart the two PCs, delete the information identification, but in vain.

    Follow these steps and check whether the problem is resolved.
     
    Method 1:
     
    -Start "Remote Desktop connection".
    -Click on 'Options '.
    -Click the "View" tab
    -On "Display Configuration" settings, you can change the display of "Remote Desktop connection" by moving the slider of "small to large.
    -By moving the "slider" all the way to large, the display settings will automatically set in 'full screen '.
     
    Method 2:
     
    You can try CTRL-ALT & Break to return to the screen in full-screen.

  • Problems with Windows7 Aero desktop effects

    I recently installed O2 mobile broadband (in Ireland). Since I installed the program, if the program runs Windows Aero features do not work correctly. Aero snap etc still works, but when windows dragging them to disappear are represented by a wire frame.     Method 1.

    a. navigate to the folder program files in the system drive and the search for this program and right click on the .exe program file, and then click Properties.

  • Hello! Had some problems with my CC desktop window

    When I try to open it, from the top on my Mac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.2) bar, just opened a white empty window.

    Re-boot the computer has no effect on the problem.

    I also tried to change the name of the file opm.db to opm_old.db in the OOBE folder. But I guess it didn't work because I can't close the application before you rename it.

    So, how to solve this problem?

    I would be grateful to anyone who can help me with a problem I have on my laptop computer running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3.I has problems running BBC iPlayer Desktop, and I suspect that it is caused by Adobe Air.

    Recently, I was invited to update Adobe Air to the latest version (from February 2012) and after I updated the program, it started to cause problems when I used BBC iPlayer desktop.

    The first problem is that I was unable to play any programs downloaded mode full screen-, I have noticed that the sound is played, not the video.

    Secondly, a few weeks after the beginning of this problem, all my TV programs have mysteriously disappeared.

    My last problem is that whenever I run the BBC iPlayer application it is impossible to download new programs - when I am connected to the internet, the application always says he's 'offline '.

    I tried to solve the problem by rebooting my computer, uninstall and reinstall the BBC iPlayer, deactivation and reactivation of my firewall, connection to the internet in different places, but this has not solved the problem.

    Hi Ryan,

    Could you try to delete the folder preferences of BBC iPlayer then restarting iPlayer to see if that helps?  You should be able to find this in ~/Library/preferences.  Find the folder from BBCiPlayerDesktop and a long series of characters and move or rename this folder.

  • Problems with the remote desktop connection... Does not?

    After connecting via desktop remotely to another computer XP to XP... I can connect, but I don't get the icons on the desktop or the start menu.  I am able to connect to the remote computer successfully.  I find myself with a mouse cursor and the blue screen for a very long time without activity.  Send CTRL + ALT + END to the remote machine does nothing.
