Power status error driver

Hello

A few days ago, I bought a Lenovo G50. But I find it very slow and it had to restart all of a sudden for a State power driver error twice today already.

This is not normal.

Can anyone help? I have to go back to the shop? And why is it so slow?

Thank you

Egbert

Hi EgbertvanKeulen,

Welcome to the Forums.

According to the request, we understand that you are facing problem with error state power driver in your laptop Lenovo G50.

As you also mentioned that the system is slow and restarts the system startup in the BIOS and check if the system reboots. Also run LSC (Lenovo Solution Center) diagnostics and look for errors.

As you mentioned about the power of driver error, try to update the BIOS and check for the issue. What this error pops out.

Click here to see the update to the BIOS for windows 7.

Best regards

  • Satellite M40: Power calibration error - drive cannot burn DVD - RW more

My drive is a carpet * an oem UJ - 831S. After a screw-up partitioning job, I had to format my HD and reinstall Windows XP... and then I can not burn DVD - RW more.

Tried many programs such as Nero and a fireman, gives an error of calibration of power from the beginning.
Burning CD - r and CD - RW no problem however, and I can read CDs and DVDs of movies very well.

Google and searched for a month without success, tried to blow the laser lens, but there is no dust, I tried different media, etc. I know the best answer is that the drive is done, BUT I refuse to acknowledge it because it is too big of a coincedence to stop working right after that I reinstalled XP.

An interesting note however, my laptop has not been provided with a CD of Toshiba, so I had to reinstall manually more drivers by downloading the Toshiba site, so I have a funny feeling, this could be a thing of the software/firmware, or even a framework.

I installed the new firmware 1.02 for the reader as well. I don't remember what the firmware was before resettlement, IE the laptop computer settings to factory default, I'd like to downgrade to 1.00 if possible.

Experts have ideas? And is there a way I can reset the firmware?

Maybe I could remove the drive from the system-> devices and let XP Reinstall for me?

    Hello

    > I don't know the best answer is that the drive is done, BUT I refuse to acknowledge it because it is too big of a coincidence to stop working right after that I reinstalled XP.

Of course, it s simply to say the drive is dead because everything looks like a hardware malfunction. Most often the power calibration error appears because of the drive lens can't calibrate in the right position and thus cannot read some CD or DVD s s or it of not possible to write about them.

But maybe you are a lucky man and might try this procedure:
-Try to remove the drive physically from the Bay for laptop
-Restart the unit without the drive
-In this case the operating system should start from the HARD drive
-Close the notebook then reinsert the drive unit in the Bay of s for laptop
During initialization, the laptop should recognize the drive and must pick up the firmware

Then you can check if you can burn the DVD again, otherwise you will need a new drive

    Hello!

I have a problem writing files on my carpet * a writer uj-830 s. My laptop is Satellite M45. When I try to burn a CD or DVD in nore or dla, it gives the power calibration error.

I'm sick and tired of this!

    Hello

Power calibration error is known to me and revealer of truth he s just doesn't sound right.
For the most part, this message appears if the lens of the player is unable to calibrate in the right position.

The goal must always be calibrated before you start read or write the middle.
If this procedure fails, the drive is not able to manage the CD or DVD and get the power calibration error.

Frankly, in most cases, the drive needs to be replaced, because AFAIK this dysfunction is not repairable.

    Can I fix it myself?
I tried to change the blank media (CD/DVD), cleaned the optical lens. S.O. Vista Home Premium

    > I can fix it myself?

Do not think that you will be able to solve this problem, because according to the error message, lens driver cannot calibrate in the right position and that's why the drive can't burn any DVD or CD.

This is a mechanical problem and to my knowledge, the drive must be replaced.
For assistance, please contact the ASP in your country. They should replace the disc with the compatible and supported a.

If the warranty is valid should be done for free.

    Good luck a cheers

    Sometimes I can burn CD/DVDs.

  • Satellite L20: Cannot burn DVDs - power calibration error

    Hello

I have problems when you try to burn the DVD on my Toshiba Satellite L20. Nero indicates a "power calibration error". Lens and drive have been cleaned up, but it did not help. Supprisingly, DVR +/-RW and CD are treated correctly. DVD player of any sort is also OK. Only burning DVDs (+/-), regardless of their manufacturer, fails.

The next step, I wanted to put a fresh firmware in the drive which is Mat * a UJ - 841 S. I found the firmware on another site of PC companies. But the installer stops with the message that it does not apply to my reader however it was designed exactly for this kind of car.

On the website of Panasonic, manufacturer of the drive, there is the information that support for this model is provided by the hardware vendor - in this case, it is Toshiba. But there is no firmware for this drive on Toshiba support pages.

    Can anyone help me, please.
    Thanks in advance.

    Piotr

    Hi Piotr

First of all, note that after the installation of non-Toshiba firmware yourself, will lose it warranty for the reader. In any case, on a forum I found an interesting solution. You can try:

    1) click Start
    (2) select control panel
    3) click on Administrative Tools
    4) click on services
    (5) go your way down to SERVICE of the COM of ENGRAVING of IMAPI CD
    (6) right-click (on IMAPI), and then select Properties
    (7) in the middle of the window, it will say start type. Click the arrow on the right and select disabled.
    8) click APPLY

I also noticed that Nero starts much more quickly than before. I recommend you test different blank media.

    Hi dude

    Unfortunately, this doesn't sound good.
Power calibration error is known to me and it seems that there is no other way to replace the CD/DVD drive with the new.

According to the error message is unable to calibrate s lens by car in the right position and that's why the drive can't handle certain mediums.

See your owner's manual for compatible CD/DVD players.
If you want you can also control the caught player in charge of a partner of service authorized in your country.

    Good luck

Ive got a Satellite L30-105 running a Vista 32 bit. And even if I try several different (Imageburn, Nero) burning software, and with the TDK - CD, I get an error in the burning software, saying "power calibration error".

    Satellite L30 - 105 (item number PSL33E-02S026N5), use a cd/dvd burner called MAST * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s

I wonder, can I download and install new drivers for my dvd player?

I will also try to buy this "cleaning-cd", to try to clean the lens. cause I bought the laptop in 2007... then her grandmother as...

But you guys don't have any what could be bad? Is it expensive to get a new cd/dvd drive for this laptop?

    Bravo and thank you!

    Hello

Power calibration error means that the laser ODD lens cannot calibrate in the right position.
Generally this has nothing to do with a firmware of drive but with the problem of equipment.

In most cases, the CD/DVD drive must be replaced.

I'm not sure how a new CD/DVD drive could be but the fact is that you cannot use any CD/DVD drive
You need a compatible and such disc compatible and taken in charge could be ordered in a local ASP.

    welcome them

  • Equium L300: Lively controversy - power calibration error

I have an Equium L300 and im having trouble trying to burn audio files to CD with Nero express. I get the message on the screen saying; "power calibration error".

    Hello

Software calibration power calibration error is displayed if the player's laser lens cannot calibrate in the right position to manipulate and to recognize the CD or the DVD inserted.

In most cases, the CD/DVD drive is faulty and must be replaced ;(

However the lens can not handle the CD or the DVD because the support is not fully compatible and taken in charge.

In my opinion, you should test different CDs or DVDs from different manufacturers. Maybe the other CDs or DVDs will run.

    concerning

    Hello

I'm afraid you will have to make a trip: (m
Information about the burning process was very useful.
    This confirms my fears.
In my opinion there is not a lot to do and the drive needs to be replaced. There is a power calibration error. This happens if the lens can not calibrate correctly. If you use different media the lens must be calibrated every time before the combustion process will begin.

I think that you will need to contact the Toshiba ASP in your country

There are many reasons why a PC "behaves" in this way.

These annoying 'glitches' can be caused by an overloaded hard drive, CPU overworked, Malware, 2 AV, useless data, browser addons, or you can have unnecessary programs running in the background, etc...

For you to try - troubleshooting steps

    * If you are overclocking STOP.

    * Make sure that all the intake/exhaust vents are clean as well as fans.
Download some software temp monitoring for cpu, gpu.

    * Event Viewer.
Type eventvwr in the search and go into windows journal > application tab.
Search for errors. Errors have red in the left column.

Look for errors that say crash app, app crash, or everything about the CURRENT problem.
When you find either take them a screenshot of them and download about us, or note the ID codes and event source and look for them in Google.
