PowerConnect 8024F doesn't have a vlan routing

My Department recently bought a PC8024F (F/W 5.1.2.3) which will VLAN routing. From what I can tell the 8024F is supposed to have VLAN routing but this one is not.

Is there something that miss me, a special version of the F/W or anything that prevents this 8024F to have this feature? VLAN routing is not listed in the web menu and is not recognised when entered the interface vlan via CLI.

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated!

To activate routing LAN VIRTUAL you make sure each VLAN has an IP address assigned to them.

# interface vlan 4

# 192.168.4.1 ip address 255.255.255.0

Customers will have a default gateway of the VLAN they are placed in. Customers in VLAN 4 would be a default gateway of 192.168.4.1.

Then, throughout the world run the following command:

#ip Routing

Who should get things working for you. Page 895 has some other details/information about IP routing.

    Hello

I need to help the flow of traffic to and from our new voice VLAN 3. Here is our first series:

    3548P

    VLAN 1 (data) is 10.0.0.85/24

    VLAN 3 (voice) is 10.0.3.9/24

The default gateway of our firewall is 10.0.0.254. Would it be the GW I set up for the switch? I am completely confused!

We also have an another Powerconnect 5524P we want to connect to and route traffic as well. Do we need to add 3 VLAN in there too? If so, I wouldn't need to add a VLAN 3 management interface except perhaps default VLAN 1 correct?

I guess my question is, what other options do I need to enable to do everything 'talk '? I should mention that we also have a Watchguard X550e. I have to configure something there?

If you need more information or background, I can certainly provide.

    Thank you!

Thanks for the update, good to hear VLAN routing works.

Try to set the default gateway on the switch. You will use the IP address of the firewall.

    Example:

Console (config) #ip - default gateway (IP address of firewall)

If this does not work, then add a static route on the switch that directs traffic on the firewall.

console (config) #ip 0.0.0.0 route 0.0.0.0 (IP address of firewall)

  • Port of uplink on PowerConnect 8024F went to the D State down

We had a strange behavior on one of our switches PowerConnect 8024F. The uplink port of the device (connected to a port on a Cisco Catalyst 6513 10Gig) came down. The output of 'show interfaces status' looked like this:

It's all associated spanning-tree protocols. D to the bottom is synonymous with diagnostic downwards, which occurs if more than 15 BPDU per second is received during 3 seconds. The switch closes the port. USL worker task is bound traffic so a big change covering tree cause it's really high.

  • I can't print due to the "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP address.

    Cannot print wireless

I can't print due to the "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP address.  How can I fix this problem myself (an absolute non-techie)?

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?
-Check if you are connected to the network?

The question seems more like a network connection problem. I would like you to do the following.

Method 1: run the Network Troubleshooter utility and see if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2: release and renew the IP (Internet Protocol) address and see if the problem persists.

has. click Start. Type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.
    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
ipconfig/all (there is a space between ipconfig and /)
The command ipconfig/all command displays for all your network adapters, TCP/IP in Windows settings.

If your IP address of your Local network connection is 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x (where x is a number any), then your computer is not getting an IP address from the router.
If this is the case, try this:
    ·        enough ipconfig at the command prompt and press ENTER
    ·        ipconfig / renew in the command prompt and press ENTER

    Method 3:

    Network printer problems

Note: The steps also apply to Windows 7.

  • DHCP server press PowerConnect 28xx series / address pool by VLAN

    Hello

I am reading the manual of the PowerConnect 2824.

I am considering buying this switch, but I have a question related to the functionality of the DHCP server.

Here my question: I want to have different VLAN and use the feature of DHCP server on each of them. Then can I have different address DHCP pools by VLAN?

    Example:

    1-16 ports VLAN1: IP subnet 192.168.1.0/24

    VLAN 2 ports 17-24: IP subnet 192.168.2.0/24

The manual is not clear on this.

    Your help is welcome.

    Kind regards

    Tom

    Daniel,

Thanks for the reply. Another question does this mean that the 28xx series switch DHCP server, recover the IP address (from the range configured) on all the VLANS configured? So if a device on VLAN 2 issued a request DHCP, it will get an IP address from the same pool as for example a device on VLAN 1.

    Kind regards

    Tom

These switches are usually connect to a dozen of 5548 s and rstp between, purely layer 2 running, they are all on the firmware 5.1.0.1.  We are quite surprised to see the little problem of performance, given the strong support.

We are witnessing a firmware bug or something far more sinister? What is 'snoopTask' and how such problems help out me?

Please let me know if any additional info is needed, thank you very much.

The task is linked to the treatment of IGMP/MLD Snooping packages. Multicast is configured on the network? The new firmware has a few improvements that can help. If you can schedule some time to do the update of the firmware, it would be worth.

  • Dell Powerconnect 5448 a reference on the vlan by default

    Hello

Just a question.  A Dell Powerconnect 5448 switch will act as a home if its interfaces are configured with 1 interface connection to a primary switch that has the interface is 'access to the interface mode' by default with a vlan?  It will work with all its switches on vlan interface of uplink or would you need to configure both as the trunks to allow access vlan to work and this switch uplink?

The 5448 is a layer 2 switch, which by default has a VLAN native of 1 with all interfaces in access mode for the native VLAN 1. On the VLAN native all frames are frames unmarked. So now that your uplink to the other switch port, all the info will be sent without label, which means the other switch will receive the unmarked data and then place it in the VLAN that is in access mode. Communication should work this way.

However, I think using a network connection between the switches. The trunk port is used to connect the devices up-to-date with the switches / VLAN together and allow several VLAN tagged fell on it. Looks like you already have several VLANs on the network, and having a network connection will allow you to expand on it. At the same time everything that is on the VLAN native is always through the trunk to the other switch and will stay on the VLAN native.

  • Windows doesn't have an Internet connection, but I can connect other OS and WiFi. How can I fix it?

I have no idea what happened, but suddenly, unable to connect to the Internet (worked in the morning, did not work after a reboot in the afternoon.)

I have a wireless router for the rest of the House, but my main PC is wired directly.

When I launch my browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE, no matter) and try to go back a page, I get "DNS does not ' after a long break.

Other computers connect via WiFi very well, like Linux on the same PC (which I use this type). So it is clearly NOT a hardware problem.
    .

Windows, I can access my router, and the router can ping (easily) 'www.microsoft.com' without problem, but if I try to 'ping www.microsoft.com' from the command line, I get nothing.

I tried to do a restore of the system since the day before, but that didn't fix it. Then I did a full restore of my drive C: from a backup made the day before, and who has not set it is that everything must have reset back when he worked last. (???)

So I'm puzzled. I prefer not to do a "repair Windows" of the DVD because it resets everything and creates a real mess. And if a full restore of backup does not work, a repair will probably not be.

I have scanned for viruses and found nothing, but this does not necessarily mean something. I also tried to boot in ' Safe Mode with networking ' and WHO doesn't either. (???)

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? THX.

  • Catalyst 6500 Inter-VLAN routing

I have a Cisco 6500 switch and I have a question about routing inter - vlan and the command "IP ROUTING".  I use dial-up virtual interfaces (I.e. int vlan 2, int vlan 3, etc.), but I noticed that I don't have the IP ROUTING enabled on my switch but I can route properly between the VLANS.  I have even a little ports that I have configured with the command "no switchport" and I assigned an IP address to these ports.  On routed ports, there is another switch on the other side configured with an IP address and I am able to ping and route traffic to the other network.

I did some research on this and all the documentation I am able to find talk of how you must enable IP ROUTING to route between the VLANS.  I guess that this should only be done if you go to the road to other not directly connected networks.

    http://www.ccnpguide.com/CCNP-switch-642-813-inter-VLAN-routing/

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/iOS-XML/iOS/lanswitch/configuration/12-2Sx/lsw-12-2Sx-book/lsw-VLAN-cfg-RTG.html#GUID-F5181D47-F44E-4F01-92E4-9132097BA333

Can someone clarify this for me?

For the 6500 Series, IP routing is enabled by default, that so all VLAN can communicate with each other.  You don't need to activate as you do for other switches (IE 3560, 3750, 3850, etc...)

    Hello

It's not because the pings are allowed on the same subnet that they come from a different subnet.

You probably have a firewall problem windows software because that by default, it removes a different subnet icmp echoes.

    etc.

To block everything, including MSSQL, with the exception of the RDP and other ports that you defined above.  The other defined are simply not the RDP Protocol and service work?

Richard, do note useful messages and identify the right answers.

  • RV110W inter-VLAN-routing is not possible

In Cisco RV110W, I set up 2 VLANS, a 192.168.1.xxx (Green Net) and the second with only a fixed address 192.168.2.100 192.168.2.xxx (Server), which is configured in the DMZ area. I enabled in Cisco "inter-VLAN-Routing", described "routing between separate VLANs on Cisco RV110W" I can Ping the server in a direktion, the other I got an error. It is just expected and ok! All other abilities expected work well!

Now, I want to see the Green network server. (firewall on the server is off)

I configured the network/router with exactly the values of the index and has been an error: "destination LAN IP may not be the same as the router's IP subnet.

Sorry, I don't understand this. Can anyone help?

    Thank you in anticipation

    Anton

If I understand correctly, you have a second vlan, 192.168.2.x. The RV110W is a member of this subnet so that's why we do not have a static route for something that the router knows that she welcomes this subnet.

  • Windows 8 Wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration

    Background:
I've been a happy user of Windows 7.  I did the upgrade of Windows 8 and internet connection seems to work very well for two days. Then, a few days ago Windows made the usual software updates after I shut down my computer.  The next time that I opened it upwards (yesterday), it wouldn't connect to the internet no matter what.  I'm computer savvy so tried all suspects, but to no avail.   I used the troubleshooting tool that came with "WiFi doesn't have a valid IP configuration."    Please don't tell me to turn on/off the router.  Tried that and it doesn't work.  I also tried the following at the command prompt (run as administrator):

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack).

Then rebooted and still no luck.

I am inclined to think that there is a compatibility issue, perhaps pilots.   I have a Toshiba Satellite P750.   The main thing is that my computer is now a useless brick and it's cost me money by not being able to get online (for my work).

Here's my ipconfig/all the information.  I hope that someone can have useful information to resolve this problem once and for all.  My only other option is to go back to Windows 7 (which actually does not work) and avoid Windows 8 until it becomes a relatively bug free and viable operating system. Thanks for your help.

    This he healed for me:

I kept having the same problem connecting to the hotel Wi-Fi. No problem at home.

It may have been a coincidence of timing, but my Internet connection was restored from being "limited" by the following text:

In Internet explorer, go to tools, Internet options, content, and click Clear SSL State.

    Good luck!

  • "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration!

Apparently, a lot of people have had this same problem with the pre-release of windows 8. None of these solutions have worked for me. I use the overview of the developer to win 8 and still getting the same problem.

In fact, the problem is that I can't access the internet via my wired Ethernet interface. I have a Realtek PCIe network card using the version 7.3.522.2009 of the driver in compatibility mode for Windows 8. I tried all the possible drivers available for the card and the problem persists, while the same card works fine with my Windows Vista. I am able to access the internet via my wireless adapter, but not via the Ethernet card. When I troubleshoot the network card it gives me just the error that "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration".
The thing is that my network card is not able to automatically acquire an IP address, even if the DHCP client is active and running. I tried to use
    • ipconfig / renew
    • netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
and similar things, but none of them worked. I think I tried literally everything possible to operate before posting here. I hope that someone of you can help me. Really looking forward to y. Thank you.

OK guys, I solved the problem! I post here if it helps someone who has a similar problem. I still don't know what was the main problem, but he probably was the pilot.

So here's what I did to get rid of the problem
    1. Disable all IPv6 traffic (my ISP supports IPv6, so no need to turn it on). A very good link I followed to achieve this--> http://www.techunboxed.com/2012/08/how-to-disable-ipv6-in-windows-8.html
    2. Disable Microsoft Kernel Debug network card, which mysteriously appeared in my device manager. link to follow-> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-networking/what-is-microsoft-kernel-debug-network-adapter/f72b8408-e4f7-4593-9e18-8cbb3e38a5ad
    3. I noticed that despite the fact that there is no physical address assigned to my NIC (probably a driver problem?), so I assigned a random MAC to my Ethernet interface using a mac generator. Link for the tool--> http://download.cnet.com/Technitium-MAC-Address-Changer/3000-2085_4-10554920.html
    4. Connected to the internet via the Ethernet interface!
    It will be useful.
  • WiFi doesn't have a valid IP configuration for windows 8

I bought a computer dell laptop with integrated windows 8 last week.

The wifi worked for a few days and then all of a sudden it stopped. It shows connected wireless but no internet access.
Back to diagnose the problem, message foll...
WiFi doesn't have a valid IP configuration...
Wifi works fine on others - phone, I - pad except this laptop.
Pls adv how can I do to solve this. I talked to the provider, but according to him, this is a problem with the router and not the laptop.
I saw a lot of similar problems on this community as well.

First of all your router off/on power supply and see if that fixes it.

If this is not the case, connect to your router and make sure that DHCP is configured to allow enough IP for all your devices.  I've seen where people had set for a range of 5 devices when they arrived the router, keeping it years later, make it have more devices with smart TV, etc.
