PowerEdge M610 - IDRAC update version 3.65 to 3.75 fails

Hello

I'm updating the IDRAC6 Enterprise of a PowerEdge M610 Server installed in a M1000e blade chassis. In fact, the version installed is of 3.65 and I try to install the recently published 3.75.

I have some problems, I tried a few different ways:

-With "System update utility" R2 2012 Windows

-L' execute the package "" ESM_Firmware_GR09H_WN32_3.75_A00. "» EXE' of Windows R2 2012

-Chassis using the payload "firmimg.imc" extract the package management "" ESM_Firmware_GR09H_WN32_3.75_A00. "» EXE ".

-With the help of racadm and download the payload of the TFTP

It says update succeeded each time, but the version of the IDRAC is stil 3.65 Build 6. If the update is not applied correctly. Execution of the package "" ESM_Firmware_GR09H_WN32_3.75_A00. The first update that you tried to apply may be blocked. Once the update is downloaded to the iDRAC, it should initiate a reboot of the iDRAC to apply the update. I would try to restart/reactivate manually iDRAC. You can use racadm racreset or there should be an option in the SAP to restart/reset the iDRAC.

I just updated a M610 of 3.65 to 3.75 to verify that the image on our site work properly. I downloaded the self-extracting file image from:

http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=GR09H

iDRAC6_3.75_A00_FW_IMG.exe

It should be the same file that you extracted from the package Windows install, but you may want to try a just in case where. Simply run the executable file to extract the files.

    Any idea on how to solve this problem?

    I solved this with the help of my colleague, as the update worked for her and not for me. The difference was the locale, its system is set to English, while mine is set to German. This parameter is transferred by the ssh connection to the server and iDRAC DUP does not work with the German locale:

  • PowerEdge 320 IDRAC not accessible

    I have a 320 Poweredge provided with VMware ESXi 5.1 already installed on it. I am able to get to the client via Vshphere ESXi host. However, it is showing that I do not have a persistent storage and need to create it. I tried to create it and it wouldn't let me.

    I have been told that I have a driver may issue and need to resinstall VMware. To do this I need to operate the IDRAC. I've set up but I can't access it. I know that I can access the server because I can ping the ESXi host and connecct via http to the host. But cannot connect to the IDRAC. I rechecked the settings and all my ip and user name information are still there.

    I need to get through this, so I can continue to try to install VMWare and all the drivers I need.

    You guys have any ideas?

    You can share details below. You can get this information from the iDRAC settings page when you restart by pressing F2.

    1. iDRAC FW Version
    2. License installed on iDRAC (Basic, Express or Enterprise)
    3. iDRAC (shared or dedicated) network mode. If iDRAC dedicated mode make sure that the network cable is connected to the iDRAC Port map
    4. The server has card Port iDRAC. It is close to the rear of the server PCIe slot. Here is the image of the map of Port of the iDRAC.

    Firefox should have updated to Firefox 28.0 today so now you are on the correct version.

    Unless you were on the beta channel you should already have been on Fx27.x
