• OTA update 2.1 on Pre 2 webOS does not.

  I have a Pre 2 (webOS v2.0.1) p102ueu and I feel that there is an update to webOS v2.0.1 to 2.1 for this device. When I try to perform system updates, I get a message that my system is up to date, but that it was an error and I should try again. This has happened in the last three days. I tried to restart and it has no effect. Can someone please advise me what I do wrong?

  Hello!

  Your device should see the 2.1 update, but as you experience this problem for days, you need to update via the option of webOS doctor.  Go to www.palm.com/ROM to run the doctor on your phone.  It will fix the problem and upgrade to 2.1 at the same time.  Do not forget to backup before you call for is like a partial erasure.

• How to integrate webOS "notes."

  I am a newbie with the Palm Pre and webOS.  But I am a former when it comes to PIM data, Palm and HotSync.  The four main components of the PIM are calendar, contacts, tasks and notes.  These features correspond to the original four hard buttons on the Palm Pilot.  I already transferred my calendar, contacts and tasks to my Gmail/Google account and they perfectly synchronize with the Pre.  But what about notes?  According to me, that there is an app of memos on the pre.  But there is no corresponding "Mémos" app in Google/Gmail I know.  What app based on the Web/PC can I transfer my notes so that they can be synchronized with the Pre?

  Google does not have this feature. If you should be the best suggestion is to get 3rd party sync software so locally, you can synchronize your PC for these data. One that comes to mind is the http://chapura.com/pm_standard_pre.php

  Pls Help: My Bing Map update 'doesn't;"the Pre suppose several times I start Googlemap & displays the link informing me that I need to upgrade to HP map (Bing Maps).  When I try the download & upgrade, I can launch the application directly from the upgrade page.  But any other method to launch the card application sends me to the 'google-> Bing upgrade screen' again and will only start after re - download the app & reinstall. The next time I start the application... it fails again.

  Looking at the Device Info app, it seems that the upgrade script fails to update the list of the built-in Google maps v3.1.32 cards HP apps.  When you try to list the applications in the device information, it still shows Google Maps v3.1.32 rather than HP cards.  HP cards... is not see the same list of applications at all.

  How can I get the upgrade to ' hold?

  Note about this pre: is this pre running WebOS 1.4.5 / Sprint 2.5.   He was previously wiped out, which he put back in its original state.  Now I can't the cards to run right.  Any idea y?

  So, I have my answer.  And for ten to twelve people who are still on the Palm Pre and attempt to provide a new phone, I will set out the details here.

  For Bing Maps to stick, you need to use WebOS Doctor, assumming that at one point, you downloaded the Updater of Bing Maps app.

  I was having problems is because the process of provision of sw of cards which is taken in charge through the catalog app does not set the palm pre to replace the existing Google Map application correctly.  To do this, Palm (or HP) had used ANOTHER application called "Maps Updater."  It was that when you got the error of googlemap prompting you to upgrade, it you linked to a Web site that would allow you to supply the Bing Map app WITH this update of map app.  Now, something has changed, and what you get is a Bing map application installation.  Map update application is one that removes the references to the Google Map of default and directs to the cards instead.  Download Maps of the catalogue is NOT synonymous with downloaded Maps Updater application.  Once I run WebOS Doctor, and connected to my profile of webOS, he proceeds to download aaaaaall the apps I had already downloaded, and at that time there he downloaded and installed the backup app Maps Updater, which took place and restarted my phone and my camera set up correctly.

  Hi all

  After the updated 1.1.0 updated my drains before a battery completely charged up to 13% in less than two hours without exploitation, I noticed that it is very hot as something is running in the background.

  I tested again by wiping my pre with WebOS Doctor and there is no battery drain but as soon as the Pre is 1.1.0 update the problem returns. I noticed if "Airplane Mode" is enabled, then the battery is not empty quickly.

  I even went to the store "Sprint" and the technician of n00b gave me another battery to test with and the question is the same.

  I would be very grateful for any suggestion.

  I solved it, I have two google accounts synced to my pre the second account where I receive mail most has been configured to receive mail via the past 14 days. Make sure you it is set to receive messages for 7 days only with the 1.1.0 update otheriwise it will remain in infinite synchronization and drain your battery, even if you have closed the application.

  Unlike Palm OS 5 devices, the Pre and webOS sync directly to your computer.  The Pre and webOS are designed to synchronize with online services.  While I haven't read * all * PRE documentation yet, I've read a fair amount, and Outlook Express is not supported.

• BUGS: Pre calendar treats Saturday 1st title of 2nd Saturday, brings also 3rd Saturday as BYMONTHDAY = 21 (but the migration is apparently not)

  After having closed the thread of questions related to migration of DTA, I discovered a new failure in the Pre calendar application.  It's using DTA 1.1 and WebOS 1.1, only syncing my Palm profile.  The next of VCALENDAR record is in my migration.mig file (I changed the incorrect initial INTERVAL 1 interval = 12 =):

  In this case, the initial event occurs on 21/08/2004, which is the 3rd Saturday in August.  Note that August 2004 starts on a Sunday, which I think is German for this particular failure.  This means that Saturday, August 7 is the 1st Saturday in August, not the 2nd.

  The migration process initially placed the repetitive event on the thing to the day in 2009, namely, Saturday, August 15, which is the 3rd Saturday.

  However, I don't have a five-day-advance alarm today (Monday, 10 August 2009) on my pre (but I had one on my Treo 700 p, which has all my old data calendar loaded on him), so I went to the event on Saturday, 15 August 2009 (where the migration process had placed) and opened it to inspect it.

  First of all, I noticed that there are a set of alarm for five days in advance, so I opened the property repeat monthly custom and found that it was set to 'Every month on the 21st [sic]', 'Every 12 months', ' repeat until that Forever. "  It was clearly wrong and does not match the date at which the migration process had placed the event for 2009 (Saturday, August 15, the 3rd Saturday in August 2009).

  Even stranger, when I slipped back monthly custom property page repeat (why is there not a Cancel option to get out of these pages without modification?) he must have accepted the 'change' of ' monthly on 21st [translation] "because the event disappeared from where the migration process had placed (August 15, 2009), and it showed on August 21, 2009 , instead.

  At this point, I thought that I could access the event initial (21 August 2004) and change the 'monthly on 21st [sic]""monthly on the 3rd Saturday.  That's when I discovered the 2nd (probably related) bug: were the only options available in the event of 'head ':

  "Daily".

  "Weekly".

  "Every month on the 21st [sic]" (enabled)

  'Every month on the 4th Saturday' (!)

  "Each year the [translation] 21 August [sic]" (geez, it would be really hard to be grammatically correct, you think?)

  So, I reached a dead end.  Saturday, August 21, 2004 is clearly not the 4th Saturday, but apparently the Pre calendar program does not know that (again)!

  In summary, I documented two bugs:

  (1) the "RRULE:FREQ = MONTHLY; RANGE = 12; BYDAY = 3SA"clause contained in the migration.mig file has been munged (it's a term of scientific programming)"every month on the 21st [sic]. "  I don't know if this has been done by the migration process, but it seems unlikely, because the migration process apparently placed the original recurring events on the appropriate dates.  Only after opening one of these events and inspect the property to repeat monthly custom (and getting caught by the Pre Calenar 'feature' of not being able to leave inspecting the property without modifications) made the event move to 21 of every August, as indicated by the property of repeat incorrect on the monthly of custom.

  (2) for an event that starts on Saturday, where the month starts on a Sunday, the timing of the front (but apparently not the migration process) is a 'one stop' error and suppose Saturday, March 1st (7) is the 2nd Saturday, and so on.  In the particular case of August 2004, Saturday will eventually be numbered 2 to 5.  I don't know if this is repeated with other days of the week, or what might happen if a particular month ends with the 2nd to 6th (!) a few days of the week to manage.

  Anachronistic, PDAGuy, can we bring this to the attention of the Palm development team, please?

  After the upgrade to WebOS 1.20, these issues seem to be resolved.  I could go to the entrance of the 'head' and correctly choose the 3rd Saturday in August, every 12 months, and it now appears the correct days in the following years.

  HP's plans when we release an update of webOS 2.2 for unlocked Pre 2 smartphones? SDK users have reported that 2.2.1 emulation included images of 320 x 480. I understand that the future of webOS can be unknown at the moment, but please support your existing customers and bring the features of 2.2 to pre 2/Veer owners.

• BUG: Palm Pre ignores updates of playlists

  So I use the manual method to update the music on my pre.  I rip music in mp3 format and generate my own playlists.  All these data are written to /Music on my pre.  This method works very well and the Meadow plays music, displays the album art embedded and reads playlists.

  I have updated the data on the Meadow by renaming all my playlist files but the pre is still showing the old name.  It also shows a playlist that has been deleted!  I'm positive, that the data are correct that I mounted the Meadow again and checked the /Music folder and it is indeed the new data.  I disassemble the Pre launch music and * GRRRRR * you can still see the old data!

  Any suggestions on how to clear the cache or to install the music app or WebOS re-read these data?  It's very frustrating.

  This problem is solved with webOS 1.4.0.

• Palm Pre constantly goes Offline webOS 1.3.5.1 called Sprint, cannot solve

  I use this phone since September 2009 and have not had this problem before. Last week when I updated for webOS 1.3.5.1, my phone constantly goes offline (top right corner it says "Phone off line"). It's very annoying because my calls back goes straight to voicemail and I can't text or surf the web when disconnected. I'm losing business from clients.

  At first, I thought maybe Sprint a signal outtage questions (due to cold front?), so I waited a few days and I'm still having the same problem.

  I called Sprint and they have tried to reset my connection and then asked me to stop and remove the battery for 3 seconds. I did it and I'm still going through the same problem. I called Sprint again and they told me to take my phone to the nearest Sprint Store to get a diagnosis. It is such a waste of time. Everybody runs into this same problem?

  If anything, I'll just buy another phone (never a Palm again)

  I've only had problems with this phone:

  -Memory leaks/major lag

  -When I try to close an application by dragging it to the top, he comes back down

  -When I only have 2 cards and try to open another, he said that too many cards open. I close all the cards and open just this one alone, and he says the same thing. I have to restart the phone, because everything works super slow

  -Memos 'mysteriously' disappear and then re-appear again

  webOS updates - screwing my (mafia game) Apps

  Unfortunately, you just need to start disabling the services until understand you that one hangs luna.  I began by killing the accounts of instant messaging, calendar, contacts and finally struck by e-mail when he stopped with the stupid phone offline behavior.  Pretty well, I knew it was e-mail, but wanted to exclude anything else causing her grief.  Pretty sad, the device cannot handle 500 emails in the affirmative, but I think that I have even more than that in my Inbox and it works.

  Such joy, pay for the device, markets service and crappy sprint as end users have to work around their bugs, redo our emails and others to adapt to their ideals of how things work on the interwebs just to make it work.  More disconcerting, it's Palm never bothered to acknowledge or respond to one of my posts on the debacle, sprint is clueless to do something with 4 back with probably 10 hours of support calls (typical cellco), and obviously it's not just me as the wheel that squeaks here...

  This behavior began in 1.0 and apparently is present through 1.3.5.x with many complaints on the way, so wtf is palm doing to fix this?

• Bug report: assigning a Photo Caller ID using a Pic that was sent from an another Palm Pre (easily reproducible)

  To reproduce:

  Open Contacts > choose a contact > edit contact > press small photo icon (this will open your photos... Note that the background is white and not the regular dark) > choose a photo in the e-mail folder > press "attach photo" > tap done.
  

  Now if you call this contact or if called you, the displayed picture is very distorted and rendered almost unrecognizable (This is the bug).

  However, if you choose a photo that took and has not been sent a different pre to your pre or if you physically move the Pic you chose above and put it in the Photo roll folder or any folder of images, photo caller ID is superb.

  Can someone Palm please look at this. Thank you.

  Charm, this works correctly if you use a different procedure. Just don't assign it not the pic starting in the contacts list. Use this procedure:

  Launcher > Photos > choose an image in the folder mail > press the menu bar titled "Messaging" next to the trash > press on "Assign contact > choose a contact > put in Contact."

  Now call this contact and the image is rendered correctly without distortion resulting from the further procedure.

• Brand new Palm Pre (Sprint) stuck in WebOS 1.1.0 worm

  I've not considered repair.  I would like to use webOS Doctor 1.4.5 top to install webOS 1.4.5 rather than trying to get it to be upgraded.

  Run webOS Doctor.  Keep clicking Next until you can go no further, or the point where webOS Doctor asks you to connect to your phone.

  We must now put your phone in USB mode.  To do this, turn first turn off your phone.  Now he's walking while holding the Volume Up button.  After a few moments, a black screen with the USB symbol should appear.  Then connect the pre to your computer via a USB cable.

  After a few minutes, you should be able to click Next on webOS Doctor.  This will start the installation of webOS.

  Keep in mind that you will lose all the application data, it's like reformatting and reinstalling Windows or OSX or Linux on a desktop computer.  However, if you have saved the pictures, mp3s, other data on your pre, these files are kept.  They will not be lost.

• [Bug] Pre mode screen 'night' when the Touchstone during the day in 1.3.1

  After the 1.3.1 update when I put my Pre on the touchstone to charge, it seems to behave as it does in the night (or dimly lit room): after 30 seconds, the screen fades, and then the lock screen comes on.  1.3.1 when I put my Pre on the touchstone in the light of the day, the screen would stay on and active (without lock).  I really liked this feature of the touchstone - I have it next to my computer on my desk, and it's a bit like an additional screen.

  Is this a bug or what?

  Called Palm support today and the response has been as part of the upgrade and no way to go back to the way it has been.   Wrong, this is a good feature don't know why they spend it.

• Report deletions - WebOS 1.3.1 - pictures - old photos of bug when new decision-making

  Hello.  I just noticed that when you take new photos with me before (on WebOS 1.3.1), numbering has reset, from CIMG0001 and when I take pictures, old photographs designated as CIMG0001, CIMG0002, CIMG003, etc. are being eliminated and replaced with these new photos.  Currently, I have 164 pictures in my roll photo and noticed that when I take a new image, the number of photos still to 164 (instead of adding a new peak and making the new total 164).  I just noticed this bug yesterday, but I upgraded to WebOS1.3.1 last weekend.  I read another Pa everythingpre.com view possibly the same problem:

  PhotoWall records the images in the folder DCIM/999PALM, which throws out of enforcement camera.

  Workaround solution:

  Go to the USB Mode

  Move 999Palm to DCIM folder images

  Delete 999Folder

• IM of WebOS pre e-mail does not

  My messaging worked IM (AIM/Gtalk) before 1.3.5.1 service, Yahoo IM never worked.  After 1.3.5.1 it stopped working completely.

  I did a full webosdoctor wipe 3 x. Still did not work. The Palm people told me to get a new phone. I did it. Still does not work.

  I created a new IM account, set user name and password, and then it solves and never connects.  Cannot use Gtalk/AIM or Yahoo.   Does exactly the same thing he did on the previous pre.

  Very disappointed and something decent to eventually give up the meadow.

  Have you tried a new Palm profile just like a test? It could be there are the profile settings that keep putting on the device. If you do a full erase and create a new palm profile and try then sign into instant messaging accounts. Once this done post back with the results so that we can move forward from there.
