  I'm on a 2015 13 "Macbook Pro, only had it for a few months and have had no problems with it." Since the update, my Messages app will not work.   Please launch the Console application in one of the following ways:

  First log on as an administrator.

  Go to start > Control Panel > user accounts. Disable the guest account. Go to start > right click on my computer > in system properties go to Advanced tab > user profiles > click Settings > highlight guest account > click Delete > click OK.

  Close System Properties. Back to start > Control Panel > user accounts turn guest on account. Log off as administrator, and then log on as a guest, check to see if it helps.

I have run the System File Checker (sfc/runnow} wich ligate without flaws. Finally, I deleted the file mediacenterdatastore which has also no effect. The last thing I want to do is reinstall my operating system, once again, so has anyone out there have any more ways to fix this error... Help!   Open the file/Program files (x 86).

  Search: vcredist_x64.exe

  3 results popped up for me. I ran all three and it fixed the problem for me. Hope this works for you as well.

  Go to start / programs by default and click on set program access and computer by default.  Choose custom by double-clicking on it. Under e-mail programs, make sure that Microsoft Mail is selected and click OK. Reset.  Then see if that solves the problem.
