preparation for installation flashes quickly to each request

Whenever I click on an application, Excel, Word, Explorer, the box that readiness to installation flashes.  Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Office to do that, go away.  I'm running on Windows XP system.

Hi Ladyhomebuilder,

1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

3. it happens with all programs on the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Thomas,
Looks like you did a lot to try to find the culprit.  One thing that I do not see you mention performs a clean boot.  If you haven't tried that I implement that and then restart and see if Setup returns to the top.

Follow the steps in this article to resolve problems with a clean boot.

Advanced problem resolution by clean restart.

Let me know if this helps.  Also have you looked in the Application section in the event viewer and saw all errors related to this?

  • CS4 Suite hangs at "preparing for installation."

I've seen everywhere on the internet tons of people having this same problem, but I can't find the answer, so I'm asking here.

Years, I received a copy of the Collection Adobe CS4 Master the College I attended. I installed it on my first laptop, but I have upgraded to laptops since then and are now planning on some of resettlement programmes.

I want to install Illustrator. I have lancer throwing disk, check the box for Illustrator, but each time he hold "preparation for installation" and just does not spend. I looked for hidden windows and nothing else. I disabled my firewall and antivirus and ran it in compatibility mode, but it simply doesn't.

I am running Windows 7 SP 1, if that account, and my features are more than enough.

Now, here's the real headache or reason: I have already installed some of the suite on this laptop some time ago, Photoshop, Flash, and After Effects, so I know that I wouldn't need to do something drastic.

Uninstall anything cs4 which could be installed, clean a cleaning use of the CC tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6 and then reinstall.

If you install from a disk, copy its contents into a desktop folder and install from this directory.

    Hello

    ·        This occurs only when you click on internet explore or with all applications?

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

    ·        What version of internet explore is installed on the system?

I suggest you follow the methods mentioned below.

    Method 1:

I suggest you unregister and re-register the Windows Installer on the system.

    a. sign in to your computer as an administrator.

    b. Click Start and then click Run.

    (c) in the Open box, type cmd and then click OK.

    d. at the command prompt, type msiexec.exe / unregister and then press ENTER.

    e. type msiexec/regserver, and then press ENTER.

Now, check if the problem is resolved.

    Method 2:

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link.

I suggest you repair Windows Installer

    a. Click Start, go to run, type "Regedit" and press ENTER.

    b. in the registry editor, navigate to the following registry folder:

'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSIServer' by clicking on the sign MORE (+) sign.

    c. highlight the "MSIServer" folder in the left pane and double-click "ImagePath" on the item in the right pane.

    d. its value should be 'C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe V' (without the quotes). If this is not the case, change the above value.

Note: There is a space between msiexec.exe and c I assume that Windows is installed on drive C.

    e. restart your computer.

    Thanks and regards.

  • Windows Installer... preparing for installation... to start

When I start windows I get a message saying that windows installer preparing to install... it comes with the option to cancel. Then she disappears after a few seconds.

It is still, however, whether he appears and if I said to cancel or not, I can't install any programs (I am trying to install itunes 9 so I can sync my new iPhone)... because it says I am already trying to install something and must cancel this first.

So I can not download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup program, I often hear. How can I know what automatically attempts to install every time I turn on and cancel, remove or remove the interference of files or programs.

If you can not install OMSA, then you can start on a live CD/DVD of the OMSA:

  • Preparations for the launch of Oracle Universal Installer from/tmp/OraInstall2014-02-25_01-35-08 PM. Please wait... Error in CreateOUIProcess(): 13: permission denied

    Hi all

Im getting below error when installing on RHEL 6 12

Preparations for the launch of Oracle Universal Installer from/tmp/OraInstall2014-02-25_01-35-08 PM. Please wait... Error in CreateOUIProcess(): 13
    : Permission denied

    I got permission to

    mkdir Pei /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/db_1

    chown-r oracle: oinstall/U01

    chmod-r 775/U01

    permission on temp

    drwxrwxrwt. 9 root root 4096/tmp

    Bash profile

    export TMP = / tmp
    export TMPDIR = $TMP
    export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/db_1
    export ORACLE_BASE = / u01/app/oracle
    export ORACLE_SID = BDEV
    export PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $PATH
    #export PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch: $PATH
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/lib: / lib: / usr/lib
    Export CLASSPATH = $ORACLE_HOME/jlib: $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib

The link refers to the TEMP variable as so defined.

I think you would have to remove and back up/tmp at all the less for the new permissions to take effect.  I would not have thought that it is a dynamic change that takes effect by simply changing the file.
