Preview RAM stuck

Sometimes the RAM Preview gets stuck in the AE and I cannot stop or do something else in AE until the entire sequence is ready to listen to samples. This can be annoying when the sequence is 40 + dry long. I can force the abandonment AE but will lose any unsaved work. Do you know why this is?

Thank you

Peter

  • Why AE CC 2015 preview RAM work fine on one computer and not on another?

    Hi all

So I know it is the subject of news at the moment and maybe this has already been answered, but to be honest, I don't have time to go searching for the answer!

Basically, I can't work on the same project, the same version of AE on different machines. Its a little ridiculous!

AE works very well on this machine:

    iMac 27' end 2012

    Intel Core i7 3.4 GHz

    16 GB of ram

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1024 MB 675MX

    Merger of 3 TB drive

AE is unusable on this machine: (terrible ram preview, frame rate, audio crackles and breaks autour shifts)

    IMac 27' end 2014 retina

    4 GHz Intel Core i7

    32 GB of ram

    AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2048 MB

    250 GB SSD

At present, using the retina when machine, put Im cached my project on the local SSD instead of using an external. Maybe AE doesn't like it? Perhaps 250 GB is not big enough to keep him happy? Or theres a conflict with graphics card? These are the only things I can think of. Any advice/insight would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

It's probably the AMD card and configuration. For example, on my old Mac Pro or even on my Mac Mini, if I add the render tail to the bottom of the timeline and its size down so that it has almost completely disappeared I get previews ram perfect even with 4 K images. I can't do anything to my MacBook Pro with Nvidia card. See how to make Cue down at the bottom?

  • After effects error: Preview RAM needs 2 or more images for playback.

Hey all, I recently had this problem with my Adobe after effects (Version 13.2.0.49) CC. I had this on my previous version and after the update to the latest version of the software, I always get the 'After Effects error: Preview RAM needs 2 or more images for playback' each time I try preview RAM. I also have completely uninstalled and reinstalled AE and attempted to purge the of memory, but I still don't have the same error.

Another question (not sure whether or not it is related to the error of RAM Preview?), is that when I press the play button, the green bar that is usually created at the playhead appears for 1 frame, then goes immediately after the playhead moves to the next frame.

    Any help would be appreciated

  • PREVIEW RAM PREVIEWS OF 30 sec FROM 04:00 .mov... why?

    Why is this happening?

My time is set, the only thing I could think that maybe the problem is that the compostion format (HDTV) did something. The video is 1080, and I had a format of compostion 1080, but thought it was great as well and reduced to HDTV, resolution set to auto.

  • How 'Preview RAM' + SPACEBAR for some part of the timeline loop?

Hi, I have the updates install AE CC 2015, and I'm still not clear on the changes in the preview.  I know that 'RAM Preview' is officially dead, but RAM preview process is always the same.  I used to be able to hit 0 Numpad for a RAM Preview, and before it had reached the end of the range of work, or a model, could hit space bar and preview would loop only the section I had just the RAM Preview.  Certainly, with CC 2015, 'sometimes', it would loop and audio would be cut up to the rendered area had sealed off a bit first, but at least it worked. With the last update, space bar does nothing unless you set up a preview, so I can't loop like I usually do.  I find it frustrating that if I'm working on a small part of a long model, I have to constantly keep defining the B/N keys for input/output work area just for what I'm trying the loop.  I feel like I am missing a setting or understand to my previous workflow.  Any help would be appreciated!

  • Memory leak preview RAM AE CC (2015)?

    Hi all

I feel a big bug with the latest version of AE CC (2015) (version 2015.0.1).

Previews are behaving erratically, executives won't load properly in RAM, I can't type in text with the text tool (the read head continually tries to get a glimpse of the same frame but green bar appears and disappears quickly... as if the RAM can not hold executives). Typing with the text tool, AE think here are keyboard shortcuts and jumping around to start Windows. Meanwhile, the playhead and previews continually seeks to listen to extracts / reading the script, I just can't stop it.

Is this a bug common or just me? I tried to reinstall AE, reboot, PRAM, rebuild permissions, etc.

    Any thoughts on a fix?

    Thank you!

    Hi Szalam,

I thought about it! (download CC2014) and it seems to work as you said with the CC 2015 file.  I guess I'll wait for the next update of AE to get the latest version to work, but in the meantime, at least I can work in a stable environment.

Bravo and thanks a lot again.

  • CC 2015 - dismal preview (Ram).

    Hello
My apologies if this has already been covered, but I can't find anything specific.

I probably only use AE every 3 months or more (when a project is online) and since the last success of the project, CC 2015 has been installed.

I just tried to use the latest version and the new 'Preview' function that used to be 'RAM Preview' is appalling.

He used to go... I have a complex series of compositions, multiple effects, trackers, etc. of the 3D elements. I hit RAM Preview and wait while it does its thing. I accepted the delay.

Now... Even if I only have one piece of footage on the timeline without effects, I struck an excerpt, and I get a choppy mess that tops out at about 5 seconds in duration.

I'm doing something wrong? Nothing has changed on my mac (including the cache settings), other than the 'upgrade' to 2015 CC.

It is absolutely unusable. Has anyone else had similar problems?

    Is this a known bug?

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

If it doesn't work for you, just use CC 2014 until the update for 2015 CC comes out. In case the one who updated your machine said to delete the old versions and you no longer have CC 2014, it is very easy to install it again, see this page.

  • Why preview RAM 2 x faster on Macbook Pro vs. desktop PC?

    Hi all

I RAM Preview a few seconds of a project AE CS6 on a desktop PC, I recently had to measure and was distraught discover he was twice as slow that view the exact clip on my Macbook Pro. The project involves simple 3D camera movements. Why would this be so, and can I change my PC settings to get more out of it? I would appreciate greatly any comments I can get... Thank you!!

First comment: you attach a lot of RAM for external applications.

On the PC, you allocate 2 GB of RAM per CPU and 4 CPUs, but you're only allocate 5 GB of total RAM for After Effects.  It does not match.  Allow at least 8 GB of RAM for AE, but preferably more.  I might try your PC to 12 GB for AE (4 GB for external applications) and see what happens. I'd probably also 6/8 CPU cores.

  • AE CC - preview Ram Flips and compensates. Help.

In after effects CC, when I do a preview the composition Viewer ram becomes cropped and compensate and reverses the toolbar of composition upside that makes it impossible to see the ram preview. IM currently working on a MacBook Air 11 '' the latest model in 2013. Just came out with a graphics MB Intel HD Graphics 5000 1024. • Preview RAM and general issues of speed

    Dear experts,

I have a little problem. When I go for a RAM Preview, sequelae decides to stop and have a think for a few minutes. This occurs even on images low resolution and without any audio.

I'm also a bit disappointed by the speed General I get in After Effects, but fear it's something simple, that I do in my memory settings.

Please take a look below at my preferences of the AE and system information. Thanks much for any help. (There is not much else running on my computer)

  • Preview.app stuck on the first page of the PDF in single page mode

I regularly Preview.app view PDF files and want to use the "Single Page" function to display an entire page at one time. I have 'Single Page' display set as the default behavior.

Lately when I open a PDF file, they properly open the first page, but I am unable to navigate to another page via the drop-down page, touch up/down arrow. If the PDF file has a table of contents, I am able to go beyond the first page through it and then proceed to navigate normally. If it is not a table of contents, the only solution is to continuous scrolling mode and continue to navigate beyond the first page.

It's very annoying! Unfortunately, I can't remember where this started happening. It could be when I upgraded to MacOS Sierra, but I can't confirm.

    Everyone else see this behavior?

Hold down the Option/ALT key, then use the cursor to the TOP or to the BOTTOM of the key.

  • ThinkPad T520 RAM stuck at 1333 clock speed?

    Hi, I can't understand why on my T520, after the upgrade to 8 GB / 1333 Mhz to 16 GB / 1600 Mhz Crucial RAM, Speccy/CPU-Z always indicates they run to ~ 660 Mhz x 2 = ~ 1330?

    My specs are:

    For my T520 (4239-CTO) I have...

Processor: Intel Core i7-2860QM 2.5 Ghz

    RAM: Crucial 16 GB (8 x 2 GB) DDR3-1600

GPU: Intel HD 3000 / NVIDIA QUADRO NVS 4200 M

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 SP1 (w/latest updates)

After searching on Google for a while and look around here, I read nothing that says I shouldn't be able to run at 1600 Mhz, especially given my processor supports officially this speed. Another post on this topic (not for the T520 specifically) mentioned that i7 contain the controller memory within itself. So... I am upset about the software settings in the BIOS or in my operating system?

    Any help is appreciated!

2860QM supports the types of memory DDR3-1066/1333/1600, according to Intel. As for the limitation of speed in t520, I guess it is because the laptop t520 BIOS/EC. Analogues of x 220 in the BIOS v.1.29 the same speed of RAM limit has been introduced (x 220 support Intel 2nd generation SB CPU too).

So, if you want a chance for support for 1600 mhz RAM compare version date x 220 v.1.29 of BIOS with the t520 BIOS updates and downgrade the version of the BIOS of your laptop.

  • After effects cc 2015 preview gets stuck when put in cache

    Hi all

I'm having a weird glimpse that delivers it is cache and I change the position it does not visually refresh on my screen.

I have my cache the value of a separate SSD dedicated solely to the cache of the AE and running an I7-5860 x 3.00 ghz with 64gigs or ram and a video card x titan.

It's super annoying as the only way to solve this problem is to purge the memory which can take up to 30 seconds.  Who doesn't look much, but deal with it all day is getting pretty annoying.

I looked at many forums and while the insight into the cc 2015 seems to be a problem even I saw this problem.  Any help would be welcome!

    Thank you

I recommend the update to at least version 13.6.1 it fixed some major bugs. You might consider going to 13.7 this way, but if you use advanced color profiles, you will first need something in installer 13.7 put where they belong copy them (if you don't know what I'm talking about, you probably don't need to worry about this).
