• Vista / Office 2007 cannot print documents. Can print from WordPad. All drivers up to date

  Environment: HP HDX X18T - 1200 CTO running Vista Premium 64, Office 2007, brother HT1440 and MG6100 of Canon printers.  Manager device poster printers and ports work.  All the drivers are up to date and I can print the Test Pages. I can stick a WordPad document and print it.  However, when I try to print from Outlook, Office 2007, or a PDF document, the message "No printer installed" or the pop up says "add a printer".  I uninstalled the printer off, unplugged the machine, power and installed printers on the internet without success.   Any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your time.

• WordPad 5.1 variations 6.1 Preview printing from Wordpad

  In my business, we currently have some users who have upgraded to Windows 7 and others are always on an older version of XP.

  XP users can visit in Wordpad 5.1 and 6.1 Wordpad Windows 7 users.  We have the dat files that allows us to print invoices with Wordpad.  In the 5.1 version of Wordpad, everything looks fine in preview before printing and print exactly how the format appears in the preview before printing.  When you open the same dat files in Wordpad 7.1 they look you use Preview before printing, but when they print, the Bills are just badly formatted.  Does anyone know why if the print preview seems to fix this it would print not correctly?  I have reflected 5.1 setting options for machines running Wordpad 7.1 and still have the same problem with the formatting change once printed.

  Set a different default printer and set your original as a default printer.

  If you do not have a second printer installed, install the 'generic - text only' default printer and then set your normal printer back to the default value:

  1. Click Start , click Printers and faxes.
  2. Under printing tasks, click Add a printer, and then click Next.
  3. Click local printer attached to this computer, and then click Next.
  4. In the use the following port box, select LPT1: (recommended Printer Port), and then click Next.
  5. In the manufacturers list, click generic.
  6. In the Printers list, click on generic / text-only, and then click Next.
  7. Check the name of the printer, and then click Next.
  8. Click do not share this printer, and then click Next.
  9. Click No when you are prompted with the question whether you want to print a test page, and then click Finish.

  To change the default printer and the new driver, follow these steps:

  1. In the Printers window, click generic / text only printer (or your other existing printer), and then click set as default.
  2. Right-click your original printer and then click set as default.
  3. Try printing again.

  Good, in Windows Vista and using a printer HP Deskjet 645c with the updated driver, here's the weirdness:

  When printing from Word 2007, Wordpad and Notepad, the sheet through the printer appear in print, but no printing actually takes place. Same for the two existing documents and those newly created. On the other hand, everything prints normally IE8, Firefox and Adobe Reader. Reinstalled the printer driver and also to delete the Word data key in the registry. No love. Automated ran, troubleshooting of MS, but still no love because he found no problem. Someone at - it a good idea? Seems there must be something in common between Word, Wordpad and Notepad, which I suppose are at least somewhat in the code, or perhaps in the way they approach the printer driver.

  (1) I want to clarify if you arejust I try to print the text or insertion of objects into Word and WordPad?

  Check to see if it makes a difference if connected.

  Step 1: This test in word

  1. open a new blank document in Word.

  2. on the first line of the document, type the following text:

  = Rand (10)

  3. press ENTER. This inserts 10 paragraphs of the sample text.

  4. try to print the document.

  5. If the document prints correctly, replace it with another font or insert a clip art image, a table, or a drawn object

• Unable to print from the web... allows to print from notepad or wordpad since

  Well Firefox using more than a year with a Lexmark printer. Switched to an Epson printer yesterday and used the Epson install disk by following the instructions. Tried to print 2 different elements of the internet tonight and got a msg that the printer cannot communicate with the PC. Called Epson which had me a test print om Notepad and print it out. Print very well. Epson said it isn't a problem with the printer, but rather a conflict with Internet Explorer (which I use is any more). Can advise you. The Epson has by default in my control panel and I unplugged then replugged my USB cable, the printer power cable and restarted my PC.

   Removing printer:
  

  Disconnect the printer from your computer. Click 'Start' and open "devices and printers". Here, you will find your printer. Right-click on the icon and tell "remove hardware".
  When the printer is removed, restart Windows and make sure that the printer is not available.
  At this point, plug the printer back in and turn it on Win7 must track a driver to make it work. Remember that the word 'works' Win7 found a driver and installed, it does not mean that it is the biggest driver.

   Epson is one of the original designers of printers I would be shocked if they did not have the driver you need right on the Web. That being said, that is where Win7 would receive the driver. BUT Win7 is going to pull from a pool of drivers based on what they get back from pinging your printer, they will pull what is said to work by the printer builder, it would be up to the printer builder to keep the pool up to date.
  

   So once you are up and running you may want to go to Epson and search that out. The proper Epson driver may give you options Win7 won't know about.
