Print screen unusable

Office Windows 7

Has left my 'Print screen' function

I looked at the "screen capture" tool and all I get is a white screen, no matter what I select. "

At first thought it was... changed keyboard out and still the same problem.

I have no "F-LOCK" button.. .or key "fn".

I tried "ctrl-alt-print screen"... .and many other suggestions from a thread posted several years ago.

Pleae help.

Thank you

How do you know that PrtSc no longer works?

To test this, follow these steps:

  1. Press PrtSC on the keyboard.
  2. Open a new MS Word file.
  3. Press Ctrl + V on the keyboard. What do you see?

Anyway, snippingtool.exe is a much better tool for creating screenshots. I recommend that you create a shortcut on your desktop or on the taskbar.

I have a MacBook Pro of the retina, 13 inches, running OS X El Capitan (Version 10.11.5).  When I try to print a group of Contacts (Version 9.0) print screen opens but is great, "fill more" or is "tense" on the screen of my Mac. I have to type "ESC" to exit this wide screen.

  • How to use the Print Screen function?

I've seen various descriptions of how to use the print screen function.

It would be nice to actually tell one that works.  None have worked for me.

[Fn] and Prt SCr does not work.

CTRL and Prt SCr does not work.

CTRL, Alt, and Prt SCr does not work.

[Fn], Ctrl and Prt SCr does not work.

If anyone knows the correct method to activate the screen capture function which would be a good thing.

  • Print screen while using dual display on Tecra M5 monitors

I have a Tecra M5 in a docking station, and I use the laptop as a primary monitor screen and an external LCD display as the secondary. Whenever I use the function Print Screen, I find that it copies both screens to the Clipboard. Is there a setting on the nvidia controls that will allow me to copy only the "active screen?" To avoid this problem, I find I have return to mode of single screen which is very irritating.

    Thank you

I assume you are using the desktop option on your machine
This happens because the ALT + PRTSCN option creates a shortcut to the full desktop.
If you want to create a unique desktop shortcut you don t need to use the extended desktop option.

When you press the print screen button, the screenshots are not saved anywhere, but are copied to the Clipboard.

You must go to a photo app as (even paint will do), then 'paste' (ctrl + v) the contents of the Clipboard.

You can also use a screen capture tool, like the App "Extract tool" built in Windows 7 (and maybe 8, idk)

  • Print screen keyboard

I have a keyboard wireless MS 2000 and two monitors.  When I hit the print screen button, it shows what is on both monitors.  How to print only one?

Perhaps you are thinking 'print the current page or active pane', this

    would be: CTRL + P

For all the xp keyboard shortcuts, go to the microsoft KB:301583

Regarding the two print monitors, microsoft has a utility called:

Exponent of Windows Media. Its an add-on for utilities WM, he specifically

lets you control 2 or more screens.

Try to download center or research online, it's hard to find the download
