To access the files on the network under windows 8 from Vista

I have problems to connect to the Windows 8 computer from the vista computer to access shared files and folders. I have Setup local users on the computer of Windows 8 for the other 3 computers in the office.  When I go to the Windows vista computer, and you try to open the computer of windows 8 on the network, it requires a username and password.  I give it, and he says that me the username and password are not valid. I tried using the whole installation of combinations of name and password user on the computer of Windows 8.  I have also went to the files, affected screen sharing folders that I want to share to "everyone" on the computer of windows 8.  I must be missing something simple; I have two Windows 7 computers, a computer of Windows 8 and Vista computer.  No other three computers can access files of windows 8...

    Hi Sudieq,

Are you facing this problem under Windows 98? If so, please see the information provided below.

Microsoft ended support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second edition and Windows me on July 11, 2006. Because they are outdated and these older operating systems can expose customers to security risks. We recommend that customers who are still running Windows 98 or Windows Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft operating system.

  • Cannot connect to internet after a reboot before you uninstall and then reinstall the network card. (After the upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista)

This problem started immediately after the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) to Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit).  Again, I want to remind that I never had this problem before installing Windows 7.

-After a reboot, I am presented with the impossible to connect the network indicator (yellow triangle with!) in the task bar.  (It was how I was welcomed after the installation of Windows 7 is said by the way).

-The only way I found to regain connectivity is to uninstall and reinstall the network via the device manager card, date at which the computer always successfully connects and remains connected until the next reboot.

    Network card: Realtek RTL8168C (P) / 811C (P) Family PCI - E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

  • Cannot access the network ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED

I have Windows 7.  Nothing works, I tried chrome (which will not even load) and Firefox (it has been a constant problem with gmail for well over a year).

    Cannot access the network

    ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED
Google Chrome has access to the network.

Maybe it's because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly think that Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and it blocks to connect to Internet.

Chrome allow access to the network in your firewall or anti-virus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try to remove from the list and Add again.

I tried the above, but can't seem to solve the problem.  Thank you.

    Hello Paul,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

The same problem occurs when you use Internet explorer?

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

If the problem also occurs when you use Internet explorer, I suggest you use the steps in this article and check if it helps.
    Reference:
Can't access some Web sites in Internet Explorer
    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/967897

Note: The feature reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

Note: Firewall and Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not turn off your antivirus software and firewalls. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you should reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software and firewall are disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Windows XP sp3 can not access the network shares on vista after installing sp2

I have a xp sp3 computer and another currently running vista Home premium sp2. Previously, I was able to access the network share on the xp computer before vista computer I installed sp1. Both computers were able to ping between them without problem.

I've upgraded to sp2 because I had problems with windows media center, missing records. Upgrade of these issues fixed, but this means that roll back to sp1 is not an option for me to get operational network.

Please do not post a standard answer on the network configuration. I am familiar with the standards requirements to share files between xp and vista and everything is set up correctly.  Like I said everything was working fine before the installation of sp2.

If it is a known problem that is still not resolved, I'd appreciate knowing that information as well.

Edit: Firewall been disabled during my troubleshooting

After more work, I was able to solve my problem.  Update zone alarm solved my problem and helped my windows xp machine to access my Vista network shares.  As I pointed out in the original post, zone alarm firewall has been disabled during my troubleshooting.  Apparently, when disabled, the old version of zone alarm has always been the origin of the problem.

So, you have problems writing to a published network shared Variable? You might be able to solve this by using the software manager system OR distributed. By using this software, you should be able to see all the network published static Variables that are hosted on this computer and all other computers on the network. You can try to modify these variables using this software. If you have the same problems with the variables shared by using this software, then this probably means that there are problems with the network in general as a firewall blocking the communication.

You can check if you have this by navigating to start > all programs > National Instruments > Distributed System Manager. If you do not already have it, you can download it here: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-distributed-system-manager-2013/4216/en/.

    Hi gauravadavadkar,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Communities. Provide the following information:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         What is the full error message?

    ·         Work on a domain?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with networkand check if the problem persists.

S tep 2: if the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean bootto see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state section of the article to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Startand then click run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.

    (c) click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.

  • Can I cache of RADIUS credentials used to access the network devices?

I would start by RADIUS to authenticate users who try to access the network through virtual private networks devices. Since we will need to access the equipment in the case of a VPN does not, I need to know if the credentials may be cached on the device.

You mean devices are accessible once you have set up VPN. Failure VPN, you can even ping the network devices. I am assuming that they would be internal resources. In all cases, credentials may not be cached on the device. Let me know if I am missing any room in your questions. ~ Jousset

  • Unable to access the network using Edimax N300 universal Wi - Fi extender

Original title: Edimax Extender will not get internet access

I naoual got a N300 Eimax universal Wi - Fi extender but I am unable to connect to the internet.  They suggest setting up near the wi - fi access point to get the signal stronger and I got to show connected in the window ' currently logged in ', but it does not connect to the network.  EDIMAX has proposed upgrading the firmware, but I was unable to get any joy with that either.  Anyone with any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi Gofchap,

Thanks for the question of validation in Microsoft answers community!

I imagine the frustration you feel when you are unable to access the network.

The problem may be because of the Extender, diverter, or with the network adapter.

1 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    2. do you receive any error messages?

    3. What is brand and model computer?

    4. have you tried to connect without using the extender?
