Printer saying jam, but it is not

Hi people,

I have a Dell AiO Printer 942, and my problem is that when I print something., with the "Paper jam" error message keeps coming up, but there isn't. I don't know if it's a software problem, but I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, and I downloaded all the software on the Internet. I don't have the installation disc. It does not print, and it also says on the printer paper jam, it's self. It tells me to press the red X to continue. So I did and guess what. It began to restart. I was confused, and I tried to print again. Same problem, restarted... The printer does not have color ink and it is very low on black ink. Even when there is no paper in the feeder, it always says paper jam.

Help, please

Kind regards

Zayd.

Hi zuga01,

The error of jam on the printer Panel, means that leaving the paper jam in the printer.

If the paper jam in the paper support:

  1. Turn your printer off.
  2. Firmly grasp the paper and gently pull the printer.
  3. Turn on your printer and then print the document again.
If the paper jam is not visible:

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Lift the printer and position the scanner between tabs to keep it open.

  3. Gently remove the paper from the printer.
  4. Close the printer unit, turn on the printer and then print the document again.
Note: You select A4 banner or letter banner paper size in print properties. If you cause a paper jam.

    Hi Julia,

Thanks for posting the question in the Microsoft Community!

You are unable to print and get the error message.

I imagine the frustration you feel when you are unable to print.

This can happen due to connection problems, malicious content or third-party programs.

1 have you tried all the Troubleshooting steps?

2 is the computer, or a printer attached to a domain network?

    3. are you able to print from Notepad?

    4. what documents do you speak?

5 is the full error message?

To check if it's because of connection problems malware content follow the steps mentioned below:

    Method 1: Run the troubleshooter

    See the site:

    Open the printer Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Method 2: Scan the computer to remove all possible malicious content

    See the site:

    Microsoft safety scanner

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx .

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 3: Clean boot

When the computer starts to boot, programs non-Microsoft will not be started and would avoid any interruption of their share.

    See the site:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135 .

Note: once you are done with the boot, follow step 3 in the article to restore your computer to normal startup.

Note: If in case you are connected through a wireless connection and then when you start the System Configuration utility to perform the clean boot, click Startup and Services tab one time and check see topic wireless are turned on (Enabled).

I recently downloaded Windows 8 and now cannot get my printer to print.  Tried to print a test page, message says "sent to the printer test page", but it does not print.  Can you help me?

You have installed the drivers and software for your printer?  Did you go to the printer manufacturer's website to see if they still have 8 available Windows compatible drivers?  If the answer is no, then you must do this before all first I try to print.

  • 7525 photosmart all-in-one: printer says wireless, but do not print

We moved our headquarters to a new location in the House. After you reconnect all devices, the printer seems to work (in his view).  Network test results "spent." When I opened a doc and tried to print, it would not, telling me printer was not in the network. Enter new password for ISP provider crossed wireless configuration. Still not printing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. Still will not print. I disabled Norton Internet Security where he was blocking the process. I downloaded Team Viewer so that my son could see if he could help me, but couldn't connect to it to use it. I tried to download HPPrint and doctor to Scan, but it will not download. Any ideas?

    Hi there @MI_OHlady.

    Welcome to the forums

I understand that you have moved your location of printers and it is not printing via wireless network.

You mentioned that the print and Scan Doctor will not download, and this could be a problem on the computer or with the internet connection. Could try to use another web browser and try to download and run the printing and scanning Dr. again? I would like to know what are the results of the tool.

Also, try to make copies of the front of the printer and let me know if they work, or if you see errors.

I hope to hear from you

  • Troubleshooting said printing problem fixed, but this is not

I am running Windows 7 with a Dell 720 photo printer. I had to download a printer driver, the printer is not compatible with Windows 7, but support Dell says I put everything. Everything was fine for a while. Then a gummed up print job works. Nothing will print and I can't delete the file that is causing problems. Troubleshooting, says the issue is resolved, but it is not. I tried to delete all the print jobs, but it will not go away.
    Thanks for all the ideas.

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Use this method to clear the spooler and then uninstall and reinstall your printer (check with the manufacturer for)
    the latest driver).

Check Mr. Fixits here and if you use the other methods go back and try again later.

  • HP photosmart D110a: printer says paper but leaves a black mark on paper in the tray

Laptop got hit out of the office by CAT when you are connected to the printer when printing. Now the printer says there is no paper in the tray and it leaves a black on the paper mark as the printer attempts to shoot the top sheet of paper in, but he can't.

I fixed that on my own by giving the top sheet a little bit as he began to print. Hope this helps someone.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8615: Said connected HP printer is connected - but it will not be printed

Frustrated and fed up.  I installed the HP Office Jet Pro 8615 printer 6 times (stop, restart network, etc etc) but still can't make it work properly. It prints well word documents but it will not print web pages, or PDF documents. In order to print the text based on the web or e-mail, I cut and paste all of the text in a word document, then format it by removing all the images from the web and other junk and then print it - hey presto it finally prints.  It is a totally ineffective to make things and very frustrating way.

The computer-printer connection is wireless. According to the web page "HP plugged in", the printer is noted as in online and ready to print.

Why oh why this printer will not print correctly? I never had this problem with previous HP printers also installed the same way wireless.

I am located in France, using British English, the printer is the 8615 and I note that printing HP softward is referred to as 8610 if that makes a difference.

    Help.

A very helpful guy named David in HP Support fixed the problem/s by accessing my computer remotely and the printer is now finally working properly. Thanks for your comments.

  • HP Color Laserjet 3600n: printer says ready, but none of the printing jobs

So my printer worked very well; I need to fill my Cyan toner but has found a way to move that and print in black only. That worked for a while until this week. My printer cannot print; all jobs are located and there is an error message. Is it possible that my lack of Cyan takes a 'fee' If you want? I honestly don't know what else to do and it is imperative that this printer it works not just makes things easier for my situation of work in my office.

Help! I rebooted I know how to stop the calibration, but the latter let him calibrate to see if that helps. Nothing.

Hello, to test the connection type printing and make sure it is not the print job to disconnect from the network, restart the machine and try to print a circulation of internal test. If it works, then reconnect the network cable on back in and see if the work in Quebec will be printed. If it does not and shows the error, delete the task, restart the machine and try to print the same job or another job and see if it works. Basically, sounds like a 49 error situation.

    I hope this helps...

I have a large Format HP Officejet 7500 has, it says there is a paper jam, I followed the video and checked and can't find any jams.  I am running windows 7.  Any help would be appreciated, the machine is only a month or so old so if needs be I wouldn't go back to HP!

I'd take a glance at this document. If you have completed the steps listed in the document and the issue still not resolved then I would contact support for assistance. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. The link takes you to a form to fill out.
