Error message: failed to create printer device context

I contacted life & their support said it was a problem with HP... the computer was the right type, so it should work with their system.

I have a HP Deskjet 1300 on this computer before moving to this new one.  Not sure if an old file is in conflict, but I don't know how to solve this problem, if that's the problem.  The 1300 print without any problems.

  • WSD Print device driver error prevents the standby machine

Hi all.  I've been struggling with this problem for a few months, without success.  On my system: Dell PC, Vista 32, SP2, using a Brother MFC 490 all-in-one that is connected to my wireless network.

My problem is the following: a few months ago I noticed that the Bureau has refused to go to sleep, instead showing a popup that says, "the device driver for the WSD print device prevents the standby machine."  It's embarrassing at the very least, a waste of money and the system of life at worst.

I tried the following without success: restored the system to a point before the show, updated the wsd, uninstalled/reinstalled the wsd driver driver & peripheral, uninstalled the Brother software (the printer has remained on the system, thanks to the auto detection) and banged my head with great enthusiasm on the keyboard.

If all goes well, there is a relatively easy fix!  Thanks for your suggestions...

    Hello DFontanella,

The error message indicates that there is a problem with the driver and preventing the computer to go to sleep.

I suggest you uninstall the drivers for the device. Disconnect the connected device and try to load the generic drivers of the printer in the back.

Also try to restore the driver from Device Manager:

To roll back a driver in Windows send the driver to the version that was finally installed for the device. Restoring a driver is an easy way to return a driver for a working version when a driver update fails to fix a problem or maybe even a new problem.

    1. open Device Manager. To do this, click Start, type device in the area Manager search and then click on Device Manager in the list programs.

2 right-click the device for which the previous version of the driver is desired and then click Properties.

    3. click on the tab drivers.

    4. click on Roll Back Driver.

  • Multiple print devices of clouds in the same House and a single iPad.

One of my clients will soon two printerd clouds in the same House, one will be ePrint, probably other enabled AirPrint. Can anyone tell me please what options he'll do when he tries to print a document or a picture on his iPad? Printing device that a cloud will appear as a default printer? In addition, he will get a choice? He may choose which device to use only one (via an app I guess) on the iPad, and do not have the choice of two?

    Any advice would be great.

    Paul

If the printers and the Apple device has been implemented on the same network; It must list all of the printers that are capable of Airprint when you want to print something. For example, if you print a photo that you selected from the Gallery, after you press the action button () and select print, it will automatically be the last printer you used, stored as the printer to send the picture to. However, an arrow (>) to the right of this printer you can type. Once you press the arrow, it will offer you a list of all available printers on your network, you can choose to send the print job. I hope this helps.

  • WSD Print device does not have a driver

Help!  I have a new Pavilion of HP with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition.  I'm trying to install a HP Officejet 4500 printer via a wireless router.  The computer detects the printer, but then gives me the error under Troubleshooting in devices and printers that the WSD print device does not pilot and therefore will not be installed.  There are other the home computers running Windows 7 that are able to connect and print.  Unfortunately, my son lost the printer installation cd so I downloaded the drivers on the internet and still get the above message. I tried even to connect the printer directly to the laptop and the laptop does not show even a usb connection.  I have completely restarted (with assistance from HP Support) the new operating system for laptop to factory settings and still am exp eriencing the same problems.

Can I go to a friends house and the laptop will detect and install this printer with absolutely no problem... What should I do?

    Hello leo.choo,

These are the drivers that are available for the HP OfficeJet 4500 printer.

I see that there are two models of printers. I don't know which version you have printer HP Officejet 4500 G510g all-in-one or the 4500 G510n all-in-one HP Officejet printer. There are separate drivers for every model.

I suggest you follow the link below, enter your model number to download the drivers for Officejet 4500 Wireless printer:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4062&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3986399

Or alternatively, you can download the drivers for the Windows 7 computer that works on another computer and use a thumb driver to copy on their computer and install it.

  • Whatever it is possible to increase the speed of printing, or is the printing device / network critical connection?

As the document of the site controller, I mark & print large volumes of documents. Variating in size but that explodes in general strongly when printing.
Search within Acrobat forums and seems quite common and probably inevitable.

Tried with/without feeling "like a picture" but did not really much of a difference. Increase in file and the time required for printing on the same.

However, I think that the internet high speed and or the internal memory of the printing device is too large:

Internet high speed - also the internal network connections - is a real problem

Printing for example an original file size 15 MB I've seen explode > 300 MB but the worst is that I can see the indicator of memory on the printer (2.5 GB installed) increase of slow death.

Takes minutes to load a next page - often with > 50 pages documents printing - multiple copies - really takes hours

Then of course my colleagues do not appreciate it - local printer however not an option yet.

Assuming that the problem might as well not be Acrobat but also somebody can help me? I'm in contact with suppliers of printing device already to see if a larger internal memory - if possible - would improve situation.

Next issue will be speed network & internet?  15 Oct status: no improvements made/found yet...

    Any help - suggestions welcome!

The problem is that PDFs are highly compressed, but the need for printers information is just the opposite. Printers are designed on the assumption there is a fast path to the printer - cable USB or network more quickly. There may be problems of speed printer too: a PDF can have be printed a full page of graphics and a slow printer designed mainly for text might crack.

If printing the image makes no real difference, you have a printer that requires images already...

If the printer has an available PostScript driver (and the equipment) try this.

If the printer is capable of printing multiple copies itself (i.e. send once, a lot of printing, rather that send several times), try this.

If your company can't run to a few hundred dollars for a local printer, then maybe they need to spend tens of thousands on an effective network. (Yes, I know that's not under your control, it's frustrating!)

  • IOS and printer devices does not communicate properly

New printer installed 5640 on the network without problem. HP printing app installed without problem on iPhone and iPad. Printer reports ink and installed paper which is correct. Print from mobile devices start correctly, but the reports "paperless." Even with reported print paper and the printer respond by ejection of a blank sheet of paper.

I tried your suggestion and the AiO app always shows "paperless" but when I ignore this warning and start printing in any case the document prints as required apropriately (color, duplex).

    Thank you for your help.

  • Add @ HPconnect unidentified error w/Printer Device

Attempt to manually activate my HP Deskjet 3520 thru hpconnected.com, devices, add a device... allows me to add my printer, but then said there is no problem with the printer and the printer control panel check for info. However there is no info on any problem on the printer control panel - just ' copy, scan, etc. ". I had crossed just reinstall the printer through your configuration online on my new fi wi completed successfully. I am unable to go further with the settings of the printer, etc. Suggestions?

    Hi @NancyP2007,

Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are getting a message "Problem with the printer" in connected HP.

Connected HP sometimes gives a false report that there is a problem not specified with the printer. HP has been able to reproduce the error.  If there was a genuine mistake, the message would point to the problem (low on ink, paper, etc). Unspecified error message does not prevent you to use ePrint.

  • HP printer device manager! Symbol, "failed to connect" Windows Sound - still Printer Works

    (4) I tried to delete the Device Manager "Officejet! Entry J6400 series.  The Solution and the printer Center then do not work.  Apparently, the Device Manager recognizes the printer but not the driver.  I have to go to 'Programs', 'HP', then 'Officejet J6400 Series' to reinstall the software.

    (5) I tried to get the Device Manager to recognize the software.  When I click on «!» OfficeJet 6400 series', I get the message "the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28).  If I then click on 'Update Driver' and select' Browse my computer for driver software"then click on"Browse "C:\Users\Myname\Downloads", where I have the Sofware HP 13.0 full feature software and basic print and Scan Driver files, he says "Windows cannot find driver software".   If I click on "Search automatically by the driver software", I get the same message.
