Printing to a printer from a domain from a workgroup printer

I have a computer that is located on a working group. We want to be able to print to a printer on the field. I installed the printer as a network printer and entered the username admin and the password and it worked. However, as soon as I restart the machine connection switched to access denied. I guess that's not remembering the creditials. Anyone know any way around it.

  • Will it hurt my settings if I change my Windows Vista PC from a computer in working group on a home PC?

I have a Windows Vista Home Premium, I had some problems and had to do a system restore. I put a different name for my computer, I am the administrator. I did have the time to add a user account. Anyway, I wasn't paying that much attention to the WORKING GROUP or the HOUSE of CP. I feel that I can have messed up things, once again! I'm afraid that if I change the name or change the name of my computer and change it to page HOME of CP instead of WORKING GROUP, I have will not have access to Microsoft Internet Explorer? I don't see anything regarding a field in this area. Could someone help me with this, I want to change my WORKING GROUP home of CP.

    Hello

You can change the name of your computer as the computers on a network can be part of a workgroup or a domain. The main difference between the areas and working groups is the management mode of the network resources. Computers on home networks are usually part of a workgroup, and computers on networks to work are usually part of a domain.

  • Domain and workgroup

    Hello

I have 2 NETWORK card on my pc. INA joined area that I can see other clients in my network places. and another static IP on a workgrup.

My problem is that I can't see the customers on the workgrup. What should I do?

    Please help... Thank you

Oh - sorry for my bad English :-))

You cannot be attached both a domain and a workgroup at the same time. It won't work. If you are connected to a domain, you will not be able to see the resources on a network of working group and vice versa.

  • You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact your administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. (Vista)

  • Win 7 - Wondows 2003 Server

This new HP computer running Windows 7 Business Pro x 64.  I have a workgroup, and a homegroup.  The Working Group, there is a computer that is running Windows Server 2003.  I can see some folders in it but cannot acess files into it.  I get the message: "Windows cannot access \\MARS2\Downloads.  "You don't have permission to access \\MARS2\Downloads.  Contact your administrator needs access network. "I am logged in as"Larry. "  On the Windows Server 2003 server it is a "Larry" with the same password and is a member of the "Administrators" group and the Windows Server 2003 is part of the working group.  This has been an area, but is now a working group.  What Miss me?  Please send a copy to {deleted personal information} thanks,

    Larry

Thank you.  Yes, file and printer sharing were lit.  The solution was that when they asked permission, they requested an account on the machine in question (what I had).  Under permissions, that one is supposed to enter the account on the machine in question, that is, \\MARS2\Larry, not the account duplicated on the computer that requires access to the file (\\LMRWKSTN10\Larry) that I had done.  Finally, I changed a lot of them to 'All' I didn't so not cope.  It is my understanding that the 192.168.x.x is not routable from the outside anyway.  When you switch from a domain to a workgroup, apparently there is no central authority for permissions.

  • How to rehabilitate the Parental control?

During the installation process of Windows 7, I made a mistake: I chose the domain Mode (when should I choose the user Home Mode) there are three butterflies.

When I try to run games with side as an adult, I have can´t access.  It appears messages like 'Parental controls blocked this game' or 'you don't have permission to run the game.  Check the Parental control in the game Explorer window.

I have no Parental controls in Control Panel.  How to rehabilitate the Parental control?  or how to rehabilitate the Home user in Windows 7 with Parental Control Mode?

Note: I am the rights owner and the administrator of my computer.

    TododeAzul,
Click Start > computer (right click) > properties > change
This will give you the ability to change from a domain to a workgroup.  After that, change is effective, it should open the Parental controls for you. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Remove computer/network on Vista

I can't remove the computers and devices on the network in Vista folder as I could in previous versions of Windows.  I can't seem to find a way to disconnect, remove or delete, I can't find 'help' related topics, except for the 'Add' a computer or device, that I already know how to do.

    Hi TeeJay45,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Is your computer connected to a domain or a workgroup?

If you don't want your computer on a network, you can unplug it without having to disconnect all cables. Alternatively, you can disconnect your computer from shared network drives that you no longer use.

    1. Open network connections by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, click network and sharing Center, and then clicking manage network connections.
    2. Right-click on the network that you want to disconnect, and then do one of the following:
      • To a network wireless, access to remote, virtual private network (VPN), or incoming connection, click Disconnect.
      • For a local area network (LAN) connection, click disable.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you disable a connection to the local network, the network card is disabled until you reconnect.

  • How do I upgrade to Windows 7 Pro without reinstalling the operating system?

I have a client who is moving from a workgroup to a domain based network.  About half of the computers are Windows 7 Home edition.  I need to upgrade to Pro so I can join the domain.  I was not able to find an easy way to do it since Anytime Upgrade no longer works on Windows 7.  The only time I did, I had to by a free license key and ended up having to completely reinstall the operating system.  So, how can I switch to Win 7 Pro without reinstallation of the operating system or go to Windows 8.

Unfortunately, your only option now would be to buy a full version or upgrade to Windows 7 professional retail license and use the product key with the Express Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Wizard. It is, it's expensive:

Where can I still get Windows 7?

    Full version-

    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional

    Version upgrade-

    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional upgrade

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

    Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade fails:

If your getting the following: error: Windows Anytime Upgrade failed
This problem may occur if Windows 7 SP1 was downloaded by Windows Update, but has not yet been installed.
    See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2660811

= Other reasons and possible corrections.

Windows Anytime Upgrade fails with the error:
"every time that the upgrade has failed. Go online to solve the problem.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2658652

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work:

Shut down and restart your computer.

Make sure that the Windows updates have been installed.

Download the hotfix that contains a tool called CheckSUR, this tool will look at the package and the maintenance of records and difficulty any data corrupted, the tool is listed under kb947821 he can be found at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=947821

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work, turn off the user account control:

    1. go in user accounts in Control Panel

2 change user account control settings

    3. pull the slider to the level as low as possible

    4. restart the PC

    5. pass by the "Anytime Upgrade" as usual

    Try the following:

1 disable any security software before attempting to upgrade

    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)

    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.

    4. check your hard disk for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    User account control permission

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

Also run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/Upgrade-Advisor.aspx

Who should I contact if I have problems installing and / or activation of my product key card?

    Please contact to the: www.windows7.com/getkeysupport.

If all above fails them, install Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and then try the Express Upgrade:

Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/learn-how-to-install-Windows-7-Service-Pack-1-SP1

If your key is not valid and you will need to change the keys, you may need to Open regedit and remove first the ProductKey value in the following registry key:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsAnytimeUpgrade
