Prints dark

I just bought a Selphy C1200 but my pictures are printing gray and dark, not bright and vivid colors I see on my phone and computer.  I have an all in one Canon printer that prints the bright and sharp images, but I wanted the small portable printer.  Before I return this printer is there a setting or something I need to configure to get my pictures to print correctly?  I read the user guide and it indicates the color correction is enabled by default.  I'm really not manually brighten my photos whenever I print, which is not what I expected from a photo printer.

Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you.

ACG salvation,

It is difficult to compare the pictures of two printers, because they use different printing methods.  PIXMA MG7120 is an inkjet printer, the SELPHY is a printer of dye-sublimination.  The results may be different because of this.

  • Printing dark, totally black pages after changing the drum

    Hello folks,

We have 452 Toshiba e-Studio printer, which we mainly intended to photocopy. Recently, he began printing the white lines in the middle of the pages. I removed the developer and drum, only to find out that part of the drum a stack of Toner on it, I tried to clean it with a soft dry cloth, but the dry toner was never released, since we have a spare just drum, I went and changed the battery, I assembled and then put everything back in place.

Know when I do copy white lines disappeared, but the page comes out completely dark, completely not black no readable information and the drum is covered with toner. I spent the day all to know what went wrong happened, it seems I've done worse. I was told the problem is in the case of the machine an incompatibility, I don't seem to understand.

  • prints darker than on the macbookpro screen

I am a novice to lightroom.

I am able to get my photos exactly as I want on the screen but when I send them off to Costco or target for printing that they come to dark back and the colors are muddy and the whites are yellow and dank.

    I have a Macbook Pro 15 "2.53 GHz / 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3." It's new from October 2009

    I am running Lightroom 2.6 632038 camera raw 5.6 64 bit

I shoot with a Pentax K10D in raw mode.

At first, I thought that the problem was in processors, but when I take a disc and watch on their screen, according to me, I get this as their display in my impressions.

The next picture is light green with a hint of yellow on my monitor, but the impression is more yellow than greenIMGP2215.jpg

The example following on my monitor shows a white out of context with a gecko at tail of rusty-yellow with three red teardrops on the back and rays red then green on his nose. the printed photo is a Browner tail and the reds and the Greens are really dull almost non-existent.

    Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance for any help.

So much for the easy solution...

I have a few ideas more.

#1 the Fuji Frontier that has our Mini Lab expects the files of point & cameras filming that need "tweaking" and it applies to settings automatic if an image needs or not. It is hit and Miss, with a lot of miss. I learned to turn off the AutoCorrect when I placed my order.

#2 you have reduced to Lightroom? Try a JPEG camera that you know to be a good record of shooting. Is it OK when you open it in Lightroom? Is it OK when you open it in iPhoto or preview? This file prints well when you take it directly to the printer without going through another software? Processed in Photoshop raw files look OK?

    # 2, b you reduced to this computer? You have access to another machine to see if the files are similar and the same impression?

#3 you have access to the facilities of profiling? (EyeOne, Color Munki, Spyder, etc..) I think that the factory setting on a MacPro would be close enough (for that kind of money I hope so), but when all else fails, I might suspect the monitor profile. (It's actually the first thing, I guess, but without a Profiler, it is more difficult to correct).

    A little better luck?

  • PIXMA Pro-100, very dark print

    Hi all

I just bought my Pro-100 and installed yesterday evening. I upgraded to an HP that was strictly CMYK (only 4 ink). I installed according to the instructions, but my impressions seem to come out substantially darker than they should be. Lime green print darker green. The bright blue print a darker blue. The bright red print a very dark red. Roses are dark pink print. The tones are much, much darker than they should be.

I print Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, and Pro - CS6 all). Am I missing a setting somewhere? On my previous printer, I would choose "primary preserve CMYK" and it printed perfectly. Now, I can't seem to get my impressions a normal colour. I'm not attempt "to match my monitor", just trying to get the colors closer to their true colors. I have CMYK primaries preserve not controlled and checked that the printer determine colors, but none of these options seem to be able to help.

I called Canon support, but they were unable to help me. He had put me my settings all default return and test printing. When this does not work, he said "good printers vary by brand so theres really nothing we can do about it." I can't imagine that this big of a printer prints it off on the colours.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

"... There's nothing we can do about it." »

Well, of course it is not true.  I have three of these printers in this line.  The 9000, 9500 II amd Pro-100.

They are all printed differently, but after a bit of tinkering with settings, they all did very well.  They are great printers.

First of all you do not leave the printer defined anything.  Cut each little out of control there.  You can do it with the Canon My Printer the printer settings tab.  Do you know how?  I think, Yes, for the moment, but if you don't come back to me.

Secondly, you must have PS manage all settings and corresponding color.  You know how to do this?

And finally, it is essential that you get some settings on your monitor which corresponds somewhat to the prints.  Your printer can do exactly what you say to do, and not sure that it is.  Because your monitor is turned off.  If you don't do this step, you can forget the other steps.  However, there are only a few things that must be addressed.  You don't need for any fancy additional modules to do this.

But you must get very narrow gray-scale.  You must get very close brightness and you must close contrast.

Once you do these things, you can make adjustments to your impressions by looking at just your screen.  Because you know that the monitor and printer are on the same level.  Another point, you cannot get a printer to print all colors exactly as you saw.  It is not possible because all the colors and adjustment in effect all the others.  My goal is to get the right tones.  That's what people notice.

For example, I know that my most recent Pro - 100 tends to print darker than what I see on the screen.  So I automatically know to set it's prints a stop brighter in PS.  It also prints with a warn a little tone.  Most of the time, with in particular, protraits cela if OK, but sometimes it is not.  In this case I set the 'temp' slightly cooler setting in PS.

Make sure that you have the correct ICC profile and that you use brand ink Canon and paper until you get well with the printer.  Very, very important!

  • LaserJet 1300: LaserJet prints too dark gray

I suspect that this can happen several HP Laser Jet printers.

Even when I print a C = 0, M = 0, Y = 0, K = 10 Gray (a setting that makes gray barely distinguishable on screen) to the black wire, black is very difficult to read in print. Gray is simply too dark.

I've looked everywhere and complaints most people about gray printing have to with the gray print thread too light. This isn't my problem.

I have updated drivers with no luck.

I am hoping there is a kind of software that will allow me to recalibrate the gray my HP Print.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no utility calibration for this printer. I am certified on them when they were new. Grey s printing too dark and you use the OEM toner cartridges then I would replace the engine Board. If you use replacement cartridges they print darker than the new HP cartridges and I just turn to OEM.

  • Photosmart C309 abruptly stopped, printing black ink (any solution?)

My HP Photosmart Premium C309 suddenly stopped printing black.

Everyone recognizes this problem and has a solution?

I tried to unplug the power plug, power switch, cleaning of the printheads several times (manually), cartridge to give a little air, checked the connections, replacement of cartridge again. Nothing helps.

Browse the internet: it seems that this problem occurs with the most HP printers.

See for example: some forum someone temporarily solves the problem by performing cleaning operations for (more than) 7 times, which cost five new cartridges to replace, and after a month or if the problem recurs.

I wouldn't do this because I don't want to empty an another XL cartridge and then discover the problem recurs.

The printer (bought in April 2010) is connected through the USB port on a Mac Pro 8Core with OS - X 10.6 (I always use only paper HP and HP original cartridges)

    Y.S.,

This "Absolutely" worked for my c309! He started printing gray yesterday, then I finally got the blank pages. My first thought was that HP has screwed me again! lol but I tried the post above... I have unplugged the printer for more than 25 seconds, held down the 3 and # buttons simultaneously for another 25 dry more plugged in printer and now the buttons down then made for another 25 sec.  Had to reset the lang. and the country, but after a few minutes he printed a perfect test page and I was able to print all my docs now!  It was a solution easy vs on the removal of the water and heads/cartridge, etc.  I would try this first and if it doesn't work, then you can try other patches. Thank you!!!  Good luck!

What I did and it worked has been reset to the factory settings, unpluging the printer during ± 25 seconds

3 and # for and other 25 seconds went and after pitting power back on

then re-registering your setting, all wet very well

  • HP Laserjet P1102W: Poor print job

I bought a HP Laserjet P1102W, and after printing of less than 500 pages, he started leaving large voids in the pint. I replaced the cartridge but it is printing a gray, not black. It tells me that this is not a problem with the cartridge, but with the machine. I don't know what part needs to be replaced.   An office supply place told me that it would be cheaper to replace the printer.  The printer is a little over a year - I will not have to pay twice.

    Hi @Officework ,

I see that you have problems when printing you get gaps in the impression. Have you tried a new toner and it's printing in a light gray now.  I would like to help you today.

If you have not already, remove the toner and gently swing the toner back five times to redistribute the toner.

Check if the drum unit for damage:

    1. remove the cartridge of toner product and check that the tape has been removed.
    2. check the memory chip for damage.
3 examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (Imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.

His fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print quality problems.
    4. If you see the scratches, fingerprints, toner or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner.
    5. If the imaging drum does not appear to be damaged, rock the toner cartridge gently several times and reinstall it. Print a few pages to see if the problem is resolved.

Try the following steps to see if it will solve the problem.

    Troubleshooting print quality problems.

If the status of supplies page prints darker, then it is most likely a setting in the printer driver.

It may be a problem with the hardware or the merger of the printer, it is not a replaceable part. You would have to
