    Hi msielectric,

    1. What is the full error message you get?

I suggest you to take ownership of the partition on the laptop hard drive and check if it helps:

    a. Click Start, click all programs, and click Accessories.

    b. right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

    c. in the administrator of the command prompt window, type the following command and press on enter:

    takeown /F (file path)

    For example:
    takeown /F C:\Users\\Music

    d. now, type the following command and press ENTER:

CACLS (file path) /G Administrator: F

Note: Instead of the administrator, you can type your name of user account with administrator privileges.

    For example:
CACLS C:\Users\\Music/g Microsoft: F (where Microsoft is the account of a user with administrator privileges).

    e. restart the computer and test the issue.

I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before you install Windows 7 (I already had Windows XP Home Edition) and the only problem detected Advisor was a potential problem with Roxio Creator 2009.  Obviously, this is a new installation of Windows 7, because it is not possible to make a place in upgrade from XP to Windows 7.  Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion & "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor came across a problem.

Windows 7 would work on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6132eu)?

So I used "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" of the Microsofts. Which caused the error "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor stumbled into a problem that your scanning devices. Upgrade Advisor needs to be able to scan your devices to determine whether your computer is capable of running Windows 7 ".

The laptop is probably not good enough for Windows 7, why?

I assumed, the Upgrade Advisor would tell me, what pieces of hardware is / are not specific to Windows 7.

In a forum Technet, say, the Adviser is blocked by some HP hardware. Which?

    Best regards, Willem

    My problem has been resolved.

Previously, the problem with "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor BETA.

I waited two months - now, I executed the Adviser again, resulting in "an important upgrade".

And guess: update Advisor works like a rocket, finishing with a nice report with minor problems.

So I think that the problem was a "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" - problem - not a HP computer laptop-problem.

  • Windows Update Advisor problem

I installed the Windows Update Advisor and now my laptop does not start automatically.  I did a boot safe mode and tried to uninstall Windows Update Advisor and cannot uninstall.  He said to contact Microsoft.  What I can do. Please email me @ * address email is removed from the privacy * if you can help.

    Hi hulagyrl101,

1 are you referring to upgrade advisor?

    2. what happens when you start the laptop?

    3. you receive an error message?

    4. What is the version of Windows installed on the computer?

You cannot uninstall any program from safe mode.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Hello

If you have problems with system start a new thread, and we can help you with those.

This program is essentially RegCure (another of their products) renamed with a few gimics
added. He and produced still too hype, are snake oil that causes a lot of
questions all distressed little. Replace the PC Health Advisor for the RegCure word in the below
    and you'll get the idea.

I would like to ditch RegCure like a hot potato

Free registry cleaner software - why pay when you can get it for free?
    http://software-Adviser.SynthaSite.com/free-registry-cleaner-software.php

Seems that these sites that encourage these poor products are all part of the scam. They
understand a couple or legitimate products (as appropriate), and then note all their products higher and
    they are practically the same.

Unless you know how to recover from a wandering deletion and which can be extremely difficult it is better to use a registry cleaner. They "fix" very little and 'BREAK' a lot

    Run RegCure uninstaller C:\Program Files\RegCure\uninst.exe

    Check the info here:
    http://www.ParetoLogic.com/resources/help/RegCure/source/uninstall.html

    Or use Revo to uninstall:

If RegCure is running use TaskManager to close (end) - right click on the taskbar - task manager

  • Windows 7 update Advisor run problems

I am currently running Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 and downloaded but am unable to successfully run Windows 7 Beta Update Advisor.  I constantly get the message that "Windows Upgrade Advisor has encountered a problem and needs to close".  I've eliminated all versions update Advisor, turned off my firewall, redownloaded the Advisor and got the same results.  Read on a blog that Windows 7 has less stringent requirements that Vista, so I downloaded the Advisor to update to Windows Vista and got the same error message when I tried to run it.  I'm under a system with an ABIT motherboard with NVidia Firewall hardware and a processor AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual core 3800 + with 2 GB of RAM.  I have a card Radeon X1300XT/X1600Pro / X 1650 series.  Anyone know what I can do to get the Advisor to update to work?

Well, there's really no need to run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, because a real upgrade to Windows 7 is not supported to an existing installation of Windows XP.  Install Windows 7 on a computer running Windows XP requires a "custom installation" which is essentially a "clean install".

In order to install Windows 7 on a computer running Windows XP, boot you from the Windows XP desktop, insert the Windows 7 upgrade DVD into the DVD drive and select "custom installation" when the installation menu appears.  After I installed Windows 7, you will need to reinstall your programs using the original installation media, and then install your files personal you saved on a CD, DVD, Flash Drive or external hard drive before installing Windows 7.
