Problem installation/Activation of Windows 8

I bought a Version upgrade of Windows 8.  I installed it on a new PC that I built and I expected, he asked for the license number of the previous Microsoft OS and I had this loan.  Unfortunately, he did not ask this number and installed Windows 8.  However, now he tells me that I can't use this drive for a clean install.  I tried to uninstall, but I can't figure out how to do this.  I tried to run over with my Windows 7 disc and a disc of Windows Vista which has never been used and is fully licensed (it was gave me by Microsoft for userability essay on the Redmond Campus), but nothing seems to work.  Can you help me?  Thank you very much.  Larry Miner

This isn't how to qualify the upgrade of Windows 8.

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.

This laptop is redeployed and I need to charge hearing on a new laptop with Win7 (64 bit).

According to me, that there is a problem of activation of older products since Dec. 12.

I'll download area of the Web site and unzip the Audition 3.0 files.

I click on setup, choose my language (English), click on "install now".

The usual Installer window opens and then closes right down with no explanation.

I only use this product for purposes of occasional charity and we can just buy a new.

  • Frequent hard drive exchanges are causing problems for activation of Windows 7?

I am new to Windows 7.    I frequently switch (turn) the hard drive on my system - say every 6 weeks or more.  I use the same set of 2-3 disks and restore my system from a disk image every time when I exchange them.   Change the drive often happens to cause problems with the activation of Windows 7?   Thank you.

    Hi Lone Star,

Change the hard drive on systems not prompt swap you for activation but after that the HDD on another system if the operating system is validated activation would be asked that the physical address of machines would have changed.

  • Problems with Activation of Windows 7 Home Premium x 64

I have a laptop which uses WIndows 7 Home Premium x 64, but the hard drive had a lot of problems that caused me to need to reinstall windows.  I burned a disc using the filename of the picture from the Microsoft Web site and reinstalled windows, but my product key is an OEM, the key with no additional backup media and now Windows activation is not letting me to reinstall. The first characters in my key are invalid characters, according to activate windows, so I can't get to the stage where it gives me an option to call to the activation or obtain additional assistance.

  • After XP SP1 installation, activation of windows and upgrade to SP3, Microsoft Security Essentials said that I need to get Windows Genuine?

My brother-in-law gave me his laptop Dell Latitude D610 to work on. It was loaded with virus and almost completely non-functional. I installed an old windows XP Home Edition SP1 upgrade disk (I had to insert my plu too Windows 98 disc) on it because I had no original disks supplied with the computer. I am therefore perfectly legal with that.  I installed it and I activated it until I went through updates. When I finished updates of service pack to download SP2 to the execution of the method to update to SP3. I tried to install Microsoft Security Essentials however it would not load and said I had to VALIDATE windows. I already got it activated prior to all other updates. How can I fix it? When I try to validate windows all I see is a white screen, so I can't go any further!  So basically I have 2 problems I need to validate (the computer says that Windows is already activated when I click on the button "Activate Windows"). And I get the white screen when I try to validate... Please help I know it's legal software, just old.

  • Problems with Activation in Windows 8

    Hello

To avoid confusion, I will not leave many details of my situation, so that this message can get long. My apologies in advance for this, and all advice is welcome.

A long time ago when I bought a digital copy of Windows 8 shortly after its release I installed it on an old laptop (without recovery media came with it; I bought refurbished Toshiba with Windows 7 Home) and shortly after, the laptop is dead - a chip on its Board of directors - so not having not knowledge of licensing, I used his HARD drive in another, original Vista HP Slimline PC dying. Some time later, a screw has been abandoned on the pins of the Committee on recovery ROM, so I replaced the Board with an identical (Acacia M2N61-AR). Because what was I guess that came from the BIOS, the new Board of Directors would not accept the old HDD. I do fix by someone whom I don't know personally, which I doubt has all the certificates... anyway, once I come back the jury it starts fine, but the OS has been reset, with the watermark from Windows 8 at the bottom left of the desk, as it has always been. I don't know if it was something that nobody is (maybe something illegal?) but I can't activate windows when he asks, because he says that it cannot be activated at this time. I can also activate it via the phone (or any other method) via the activation ID and I bought a copy of Windows Professional 10 as a shortcut, but, of course, he wants another key because the key that comes with it is the same as my old key (I know this is probably how it is supposed to be, but he was initially asked me to buy a new Windows 8 key just to reactivate). Currently, I have removed the key via CMD Admin compatible as suggested in another post (for a completely different problem) and returned to its State at the trail version of the operating system and uses the tool of creation of media Windows 10 download Windows 10 for a second time.

I apologize if what anyone in this post isn't 100% clear because I myself made a little crazy trying to fix all these crazy catch-22. Thank you for your time. It means a lot to me right now and will be for the longevity of this PC, as I use it as a learning experience to supplement my knowledge in PC.

  • Question on "Installation & Activation of Windows Vista"

    Hello
is it possible to install a NORMAL Version of Vista from a CD from Vista NORMAL and activate it with the OEM key? I hate the facilities that remove all partitions.
It's kinda funny. The Version of recovery is a data Partition, but if something fails you loose all your data? !! Whereas the joke?

Unfortunately you cannot use the OEM key with a copy of original since Vista key OEM need an OEM Vista. That means, if you install Vista, type the OEM key, you will get an error message that the key is not valid.

And with regard to the recovery: the recovery doing anything other than deleting your whole HARD drive and install the operating system as it was shipped to you from the factory, which means that all files will be deleted.
You must make a backup of your important files if you perform a recovery.
