problem installing printer wireless HP 4620

Hello - I don't have many computer skills and hope someone can give some advice for a rookie, to solve this problem.

I just bought a wireless hp printer 4620 and cannot get it set up to exploit the wireless. I can make it work with a usb cable on my main computer, which runs using Ubuntu 12.04 and it works perfectly then. However, I want to create a home network with two other computers, and I need to be able to connect and use the wireless printer. I had the imression that the hp printer may automatically connect to a wireless router out of the box.

I have a router Linksys Wireless and N150 of D-link wireless USB adapter for my computer. I followed all the instructions wireless hp manual. The wireless feature is enabled in the printers menu, but it tells me that there is no connection. When the D-Link wireless card is connected to my computer, I get online ok, so the wireless connection running fine on my computer, but the printer does not print-it is said that it is not connected. I plug the usb cable into my computer and print it immediately. I want to create a home network with 3 computers and thought that this printer wireless would allow me to do. So I need to fix this so that I can achieve. Can anyone offer any solution please? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Tony Brown

On the printer in the network or wireless settings, it gives you an IP address from the printer? Connect the printer to your network with the correct network key?

  • HP Envy 4507: Problems with printing wirelessly to my iMac

The printer worked fine without thread when implemented since January 2015. But this week (early May) I can't print wireless. The printer is on my network. I can access it from the iMac using the ip address in the browser, and it seems OK. I uninstalled the HP utility software and it - redownloaded, but when automatic running connect it does not locate the printer. Printers and fax settings I have deleted the printer and tried to readd it. It locates the printer, but it does not automatically select the driver. I manually select and click Add and I tells me that it cannot connect to the printer. When I try and add it via the IP (even tried with a static IP address) I tells me that the printer is not on my network. As I said before this week, it was fine. I tried most of the things on the forums - even at zero complete remission of the printing system on the printer restore to the factory settings and the system prefs and resettign of the printer itself. My OS is 10.10.3 and I use a BT home Hub 5.

    Hi @DrChops,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I'd love to help you with your envy 4507. We'll leave the router and unplug the power cable (NOTE: do not reset the router.), and then do the same with the printer and shut down the computer. After a minute, plug in the router, wait to fully turn on, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light become solid. Once the router and the printer are on, go ahead and re - turn on the computer. This will refresh the network connection.

If please remove and re-add the printer now and let me know if the feeding cycle solves the problem.

  • Problem installing printer HP 4 L CSE and 970 in Vista

I replaced a XP Pro that fried with a Vista Home Premium.  Trying to install HP 4 L and 970 CSE printers, but not had much luck, so I paid a geek $180 for the installation.  The 4L (primary) bit the dust, and I can't get the 970 to print at all.  Used Microsoft Fixit to diagnose and HP website to install current drivers.  When the printer is connected while she and the computer are not enabled, the keyboard lights "Lock" (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock), which does not allow the use of the keyboard.  My office is password protected, so I can't even.  Shut down and kicked up to 8 times, and the 9th time, all of the lights "Locking" are disabled.  This allows the keyboard to operate, but the cursor is dead.  Any ideas on why something as simple as installing a printer should be this aggravating?  The geek is not permanent by previous work, and I don't want to spend another dime for services already paid.  Any help is appreciated.

    Small Hi Flyer,

This looks like a possible problem of USB port.  Go to the website of the manufacturer of your office and get the latest version of BIOS and drivers for the chipset of your machine.

  • Problem installing printer HP new Windows 8.1

    Hello

I have a printer HP Officejet 5610 printer I used quite happy with my new HP laptop which came with Windows 8, and then on the advice, I've upgraded to 8.1 Win.  Use this combo since February this year with no problems.

This morning running the printer and started getting printer 'offline' when attampting to print.  Tried troubleshooting by using HP Web sites (including this forum where I found a thread about the mistake of the printer 'offline').  The final recommendation recommended re - install tried as long as.   It appears the togo through the uninstall & then install for this printer, but after a long while I get an error message telling me "fatal error." and the installation is aborted (i.e. reversed out)

Are leaning on what is still connected to my laptop and, curiously, the fax for this printer is listed but not the printer.

Don't know if this can help, but the HP error log...

I spent almost today so far of evil with this & ideas now.

    Can someone help?

    Hello again, kean,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see you have some connectivity issues when you try to print from your computer Windows 8.1 update.

I have some suggestions that in order to solve this problem, we can try.

Click on the first link which explains the uninstall of the printer software.  Windows 8.1 is NOT listed in the instructions, but the instructions of Windows 8 will work the same way.

Software has been removed, restart the computer.  When the computer is back up and running, please do a search for the fax and the printer and make sure that everything has been removed.

The next step would be to reinstall the software and drivers. Click on the following link for HP Deskjet and Officejet full feature software and drivers.  Save the download on your computer desktop so it creates it's own icon.  This will make it easy to find download.  Double-click on the icon and follow the installation instructions.

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

    Thank you for your time.

    See you soon,.

  • Problem installing printer HP Netbook software

    Hello

I have an all-in-one HP Photosmart Premium C309 printer and finds it difficult to install the printer on my new netbook software.  The printer software is installed on my HP desktop computer and two laptops in the House, all of which have naturally scanners for the Setup disk can naturally be used.  However, I believe to be impossible to install the HP software on my netbook to allow me to fully use the HP print utilities.

I tried to download the correct complete package on the HP site.  It downloads fine and extracts, but then nothing happens.  I mapped optical drives on the desktop and a laptop to try and install the software from the CD that I have, but once I clicked on the configuration file, even once, nothing happens.

My netbook runs Windows 7 starter edition, the desktop computer running windows 7 Home premium and the laptop is running vista.

    Help, please!

    Hello DazzaBee,

The netbook has Windows 7 starter version installed and when we install the printer software it does not install software just like in Windows Vista or Windows 7 family premium.

It's the Starter edition limitation and not a problem with the HP software. In the Starter editions only basic printer driver is installed. In order to check in "Devices and printers" under "Control Panel" If the printer icon whether or not written.

For analysis, you must use MS Paint or Windows Live Gallery If the printer is connected using the cable USB. Link below will guide you with scanning:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/Windows-fax-and-scan

If the printer is networked is connected to a router, then we can scan using WebScan functionality:

    (1) open Internet Explorer or Firefox or Chrome

    (2) type the IP Address of the printer in the address bar and press ENTER.

    (3) under the "Scan" tab, click "WebScan.

Note: We can only scan to JPEG or PDF formats.

  • HP 15-G208UR: problem installing Realtek wireless lan driver

    Hello world

After buying the HP 15 - G208UR laptop, I installed Windows 7 64 instead of default Windows 8.1. Then I started to install Windows 7 HP official drivers and each of them worked correctly except for Realtek Wireless Lan RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n.

The Setup program stops just silently after the extraction process. I used different ways of installation, even tried to download it from third-party sites, it has not helped. With cable, internet works fine. And with OEM Windows 8.1 everything worked perfectly.

    Help guys?

    Thank you!

    Hello:

    Have you tried this driver?

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=ob_149801_1

You know that your laptop is the Realtek wireless card?

There is no information available online about what model of wireless card your laptop is.

Please do the following so I can understand that, and then I'll post the links to the drivers you need.

Go to Device Manager.  There should be a category of other devices containing a list of devices that need drivers under this category.

The wireless card is labeled as a network controller.

Click the network controller device, and then click the Details tab in the upper part of the window of network controller device.

Now you should see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • Officejet J6480 carriage jams when printing wirelessly via the plugin from HP printing service

I try to print on my printer OfficeJet J6480 HP all-in-one to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet that runs Android 4.4 Wireless using the "HP Print Service Plugin on the tablet.

    Measures already taken;

Sucessfully downloaded/installed the Service HP Print on shelf Plugin

Radio wireless to the printer and correctly configured to communicate with the router wirelessly activated successfully.

    Problem:

When you try to print something from the tablet to the wireless printer, the printer is trying to perform the print operation (flow paper in the printer from paper tray, shows 'Printing' on the printer screen), but then never made a real impression and gets a 'Transport Jam' indication on the printer screen.

When this occurs above, I opened the hood top, checked for jammed paper in the paper path (Nothing), did tension of printer many times, cycle of fact alignments cleanings and cartridge many times, changed the paper to different types of paper.

None of these actions corrected the problem...

I'll also add that when you perform the steps of printing with the radio wireless on off the printer and the cable connected to the printer, the printer functions normally when you print from my pc applications - no traffic jams. Also, the printer works normally when you perform a function 'copy' locally from the printer control panel - not roadways of jams.

I thought maybe an update of the firmware to the printer could solve this problem - ideas about this being a likely solution?

BTW - how you normally clear / would correct a cart-jam regardless of printing wirelessly or through an ethernet cable?

If the firmware update is not a solution, any comment on what could be the cause of the problem?

If an update is available, could you tell me how to do the upgrade and where can I download it from?

Thanks for all your comments... Denny

    E - rog,

Two things I wanted to first of all thank you a lot for the response to my original message concerning the problem of printing wirelessly to my printer HP J6480 of the Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 via the Plugin of Service HP Print.

Secondly, I wanted to aplogize for the very long delay in responding to your... I had some health problems with a family member who prevented me to try your suggestions to the problem.

I am pleased to report that I managed to solve the problem... I am now able to print to the printer of the tablet.

A little history on the fix...

I tried to download and install the update of the firmware from the link you provided, while having the printer connected to the PC (Windows) computer via a USB connection, as you suggest. (It was initially connected through my home network, so I had to first uninstall, then reinstall via USB connection). When you try to install the downloaded firmware it failed, even after several attempts to re-downloading/reinstalling.

Instead, I uninstalled the printer again, reinstalled over the home network, downloaded the update of the firmware directly from the HP site by locating the printer model, then the firmware. This time the firmware successfully installed (was able to view the progress of installation of the firmware in the display on the front panel of the printer). Make the installation of the firmware with the printer installed on the network domestic (instead fo via USB), the installation process allowed me to search for the printer on the network - it found it successfully and successfully installed the firmware.

After this successful firmware installation and turn on the wireless radio on the printer (via the button on the front panel), I was able to print successfully from the tablet... YES!

Needless to say, there is no carriage jam messages as before... and I did not try your other suggestions to go to the HP article on carriage jam error States/solutions.

I am really gratefull for your response/suggestions...fixing this problem did the usefulness of my tablet to increase dramatically to have the ability to print... cudos to you for your efforts on this forum and a big "thumbs up" for your records.

    Denny
