Try to run the Windows Installer Cleanup http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml utility to see if that solves the problems with windows install.

    I hope this helps.

  • Problem installing Windows XP Mode in 7 Winjdows

I have a problem installing Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Pro 64 running on a Dell Latitude E6510 laptop with an i5 processor and 8 GB of ram.  This machine supports hardware virtualization, and it is enabled in the BIOS.

Before downloading software in XP Mode, the MS download required Windows validation Web site.  Downloaded and reported validation validation and a successful installation.  Then I downloaded Windows XP Mode (WindowsXPMode_en - us.exe, 481 052 KB) installation package and the package of Windows Virtual PC (Windows6 1 - KB958559 - x 64 - RefreshPkg.msu, 16 692-Ko).  Then, I installed Windows XP Mode; the installation ran without any problems apparent and reported success.
According to the docs of download site, the next step is to: "... click on the Windows 7 start button , and then select all programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode to begin the installation."
My problem is Windows Virtual PC does not appear anywhere in the selection of all programs list - believe me, I looked.  There is, however, a new directory called
    c:\ProgramFiles\Windows XP Mode\
but it contains no exe file.  It contains a file of 1.2 GB called Windows XP Mode base.vhd - but it is not clear what to do with it.  There is also a tutorial subdirectory.
I tried to reinstall Windows XP Mode (without uninstalling first) but I just get a warning message that the program is already installed.  Windows XP Mode appears on the list "Uninstall or change a program" in the module programs and features in Control Panel.
I tried running (Windows6. 1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu(Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu, goal that throws error 0x8007000d, "The data is invalid."
If at this point, my question is simple, "what to try next?
    Thanks in advance.

The right way to install Windows XP Mode, you must first install Windows Virtual PC, and then install Windows XP Mode.

    You must install both files:

    1 Windows6. 1 - KB958559 - x 64 or x 86 architecture that you run

Restart the system, and then install:

    2 WindowsXPMode_en-we

    ------------

    Uninstall Windows XP Mode:

Click Start, type: programs and features

    Press enter on your keyboard

    Scroll down

    Select Windows XP Mode

Click Change/uninstall in the command bar

    Uninstall Windows XP Mode

    -----------------

    Restart your computer

Proceed with the installation of Windows XP Mode in the right order.

    --------------

If it does not always show upward:

Click Start, type: enable or disable windows features

    Scroll down

Make sure that Windows Virtual PC is checked

    Click OK

    Reboot if prompted

  • Problem installing Windows Ultimate 7

I searched online and read a number of threads / pages and none of them answered that for me: -.

I have a Win7 Ultimate x 64 instance that is running on a HP laptop which has virtualization option enabled in BIOS it is.

    Running VMware Workstation 9. (9.0.2 build-1031769)

Using ISO following Microsoft Digital River distribution site: released X 17 - 24395.iso (English Windows 7 Ultimate x 64) that has the right size.

Early in the installation I get this. The installation program begins...

    win7.png

Cannot continue beyond that. The. ISO is not corrupted, it is very well and has been used to install a physical machine. I tried the legacy

I tried a number of other solutions without success. I was able to install Win 8.1 recently without (too many) dramas. Any ideas?

This error, although does not exclusively, generally is indicative of a corrupt ISO Image and even though I know you said "who has the correct published file size" not a yet you actually post the ISO Image against a published checksum?  Yes, I know, you said 'The. ISO is not corrupted, it is very well and has been used to install a physical machine. "However if you have not validated it against her we published so I don't waste time trying to solve the problem, since it should install 9 by default for a virtual Windows 7 x 64 computer with VMware Workstation.

I have two virtual machines W2003R2 and W2008r2 in a physical host with Windows XP Edition family.

The network configuration is in Bridge mode the two.

    No dynamic IP for both.

    Physical PC1

    W2003R2: W2008R2

    IP: 172.17.0.1 IP: 172.17.0.2

    Mask: 255.255.0.0 mask: 255.255.0.0

    No gateways.

    DNS: 172.17.0.205 DNS: 172.17.0.205

And a virtual W2003R2 on another physical machine.

    Physics PC2

    W2003R2: (is a domain controller)

    Mask: 255.255.0.0

    No gateways.

    DNS: 172.17.0.205

Two physical machines have connectivity, no problem, Pc1 and PC2.

Virtual machines have two connectivity with DC IP 172.17.0.205 and also DC for two machines, nslookups works OK.

There is no ping between machines on the physical PC1 comments, well not exactly I have ping of W2008 in W2003 but not for W2008 W2003, there is no firewall and no antivirus, no, default configuration, I tried to uninstall W2008 and install the other W2003 and no results, so there is no problem of OS Windows.

I'm trying to change the configuration of the network, tried to bridge, host, nat, custom, I tried vmware workstation version 6.0 and 6.5.3 and don't find any solution.

    Any ideas?

Is there any antivirus running on the guest operating system?

  • How to install 64-bit vmware workstation 9 on a win 7 64-bit operating system

I am trying to load the 64-bit version of the workstation 9 on a 64-bit windows system 7.

I down loaded the bundle (VMware-workstation-full-version 9.0.0 - 812388.exe) that has the 64-bit and 32-bit.  When I run the Setup, it puts

C:\Programs(x86 folder) that I am under the impression is for 32-bit applications.

    I have two questions

    (1) how to determine which version of workstation (64 or 32) I loaded?

    (2) if it is 32, how a force installing 64-bit?

VMware Workstation is the two 32-bit 64 bit.  On 64-bit host, it uses a 64-bit vmware-vmx with it process the lats and the Virtual Machine itself, but the front-end GUI is 32-bit.

  • Windows under Vmware Workstation 7 8

    Hello

With Vmware Workstation 8, can I create a virtual machine in which I could you Installer Windows 7?

Thanks in advance if anyone has any experience of this.

    Kind regards

Yes, sure, no problem. And if you go on the Compatibility Guide ( http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility ), you're looking for in the guest operating system section, pay the proceeds Workstation with Windows 7 as OS name of family, you will find that Windows 7 and SP1, 32-bit or 64-bit are supported on WS 8.0. Also, if you create a new virtual machine, you can choose Windows 7 as guest operating system. It is the proof that it works.

    A +.

  • Install vCMA in VMware Workstation?

I would like to install the vCMA thin iPad client vSphere demo on my laptop.  Two questions:

    • Is vCMA 64-bit?
    • Can I run the vCMA as a VMware Workstation VM (and not as a device of ESXi)?

When I try to import the FVO in my computer is giving me an error of bad descriptor.

    -MattG

    Hi Matt,

Apparently, the current vCMA is based on CentOS 5.2 32 bit. Check with 'cat/etc/issue' and 'uname - a '.

It should work well on a workstation or player as long as it can access your vCenter or ESX via the network.

Simply, I downloaded the Zip file, compressed and open without any problems.

    Good luck.

  • Problem installing Windows 7: upgrade of the disk

    Hello

I have W7 Ultimate upgrade disc and have problems to install.

I installed XP first if I understand that W7 upgrade needs to see an existing version to work.

I then tried to install W7 as a separate operating system, but get the error message using the product key you entered, start the installation on a computer that is running a genuine version of windows. So I guess it isn't recognizing that XP is already installed.

I tried to install W7 startup on XP but W7 so does not recognize the hard drives to install on.

Any suggestions how I can solve this problem.

    Thank you!

All you have to do is just create a virtual machine in Windows 7 and you walk through the Wizard New VM just to leave the empty Windows product key on the Easy Install sheet and keep moving forward.

Then once you have installed VMware Tools just follow the steps in Clean install Windows 7 with upgrade media to activate Windows.

According to the specifications of the laptop it came with WIN7 64 BITS HOME PREMIUM so the best thing you can do is to install the original recovery image that you got with your laptop and everything should be ok.

    Hello

just a quick question: is the recovery for Vista work? I mean, it sounds like a hardware problem, but usually if the machine worked well before, it must be another problem. The image that was created with nLite is maybe defective...

Would appreciate comments on your part.
