Problem of massive networking makes me crazy

I just got a laptop Lenovo Thinkpad Z61m of father girlfriends. He switched to a Mac, it has never used the Lenovo.

Is the product ID: 9450FKU

Its running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.

It runs quickly and everything, but the Thinkvantage software is wobbly. The first time I turned it on I had to go through the motions of his first run installation. After that, I created a backup of recovery. Then, I used the Thinkvantage Access connections to create a profile of home for my Wi - Fi. I got my added wireless network and was able to connect... Everything seemed fine, until I tried to do the same thing for my ethernet connection. It is not the first time, try to connect. Gave me the error code 030. DHCP server error. Then the Active Protection System jumped ball saying that its sensor was defective and run PC Doctor to diagnose. So I did and after a reboot. It would not be all connect wirelessly using the same settimgs. If I did a restore to my first backup it would work very well. Whenever I try to make connections or install anything having to do with interntet or use diagnoses it messes up. ThinkVantage access connections is shit. I tried all the basic tent tricks to fix it. I have updated to Service pack 3, .net framework. Toolbox ThinkVantage access connections updated and updates that I thought would fix it, nothing helps. I plan to reinstall XP Professional.

I ve tried unplugging the laptop and Wi - Fi connection, but it just says that it can´t to connect to the network... He finds it, but when I click on connect it says only: No..

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322756

(How to back up and restore the registry in Windows)

Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or some non-Microsoft DHCP servers

To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

    3. in this registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the network adapter that is connected to the network.

    4. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

    5. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

6 right-click DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, then click on modify.

    7. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    8. close the registry editor.

By setting this registry key to 1, Windows Vista's trying to get an IP address using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets. If that fails, he will try to obtain an IP address without using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets.

    Hope this information is useful.

Let me know if it worked.

I'm unable to connect to wireless modem, the message's problem is the network cable is unplugged got new cable still

    Hello Verashanley

    Since how long did begin?
You have added a new software or hardware to the system?
If the issue took place recently then you can try the system restore.
If you have recently added anything to the system (hardware or software), then remove.
If the system restore does not then check in Device Manager and verify that the network card is considered and no errors appear.
To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click performance and Maintenanceand then click System. In the hardware tab, click Device Manager.
Check the type of network card you have and that you try to update the drivers from the hardware manufactures Web site.
Also, check the connection for the network adapter. Do you see any physical damage. When you plug the NIC saw all the lights on the network card lights up? If not, then you can deal with a hardware problem and need to contact the manufacture of the system and see about obtaining the card replaced.
Let me know the results. Thank you.
  • Connection problems on Netflix in Media Center: "there was a problem of signing. Make sure your internet connection is working and try again. »

Original title: Netflix in windows media center, connection problems

I saw disorder connect to Netflix on windows media center. I am running windows vista x 64. When I select the icon of the login screen appears, but when I try to connect it comes up with the error message "there was a problem of signing. Make sure your internet connection is working and try again. "my internet connection is fine and I can connect to http://www.Netflix.com/, so this problem should make windows media center, but I can't understand it. I have updated windows and windows media center and I'm still having this problem. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The most likely explanation is NetFlix changed something in their routine of authentication (i.e. SOAP structure or just a URL string, whatever) and who broke the Vista NetFlix WMC client. It did not affect the web interface of NetFlix because operated a NetFlix service, they were obviously aware of the change pending and adjusted their web client to use the new method.

Customer WMC NetFlix in Windows 7 (which is a new product), was probably already coded to use the new method. The client in Vista has continued to work with the old method, until NetFlix finally stop this method. Microsoft, slow to react and to assign developers to fix the Vista NetFlix WMC client missed the deadline and Vista users have been in the dark for a while.

That's pretty standard for web services that cross corporate barriers. Particularly involving slow mega-body like Microsoft. A company change a routine and the other has to play catch-up. Communication is often difficult between the divisions within a company, between companies, it is often non-existent.

The level of prissy whining in this thread was good for a laugh however. Those threatening to cancel NetFlix: rolleyes: your access was still working on their Web site. You were not without service, just, without the convenience of WMC. People grumble at Microsoft... anyone know if Microsoft was still knowledgeable of * when * NetFlix was going to turn off the old authentication? If they were told the night before (or any) "Hey let's turn off the old authentication routine" what kind of response do you expect? How long is it since the problem began, 28 days? It's actually a pretty fast for an element relatively low priority. Or it could just be that NetFlix reactivated their old methods of authentication as a temporary solution to this problem (they share a part in creation) until Microsoft can respond formally with an update.

Now if Microsoft was duly informed advanced evolution of the service, still dragged feet (quite possible) I don't give them no slack. But at the end of the day, it is always a matter of low priority. It's fixed now, be happy until the next time that Netflix change their authentication routine.

  • How can I connect to the internet? Problems involving the network and sharing Center does not.

    Hello.
I live in a House and bought a range extender so that I can get a connection in my basement as well.  I have installation range Extenders without problem.  When you install the range extender, I changed my name to my network router.  I changed the name of the network by typing 192.168.1.1 in my browser.
The MacBook connects without a problem.  In the basement, the connection of Windows 7 works very well.  I have just connected Vaio Windows 7 my mother to the network, but it prompted that I enter the user credentials.  I read a post above and got that problem solved by opening the network and sharing Center and adding a new connection.  Now that the connection is configured correctly.
The problem is with the laptop HP Windows Vista family basis.  Since I install the range extender, I can't connect to the network.  He had no problems before you connect the router or other networks to visit other places.  The new network name appears, but when I click it, it says I have to enter the user credentials.  I tried to manually, but the name is taken so I can't make a new and invites me to connect to the network that is established or to connect to a different network.
    • I tried to open the network and sharing Center, but it does not open.  When I click it, it opens a screen for a brief second.  The option "Display the status of network and tasks" opens either.
    • I logged as an Administration by entering the command line < net="" user="" administrator="" ctive:yes=""> > and restarted the laptop.  Even logged in as administrator, this folder does not open.
    • I also did a scan < sfc="" cannow=""> >.  The digitized rolled up with an error, but the error has been corrected.
    • I also updated the connection of the range extender.
Why the network and sharing Center will not be open to the top?
How can I configure my router my HP Windows Vista Linksys connection?
Thank you.  Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks for your reply.

In a last attempt, my sister has used the ethernet cable to connect directly to our router.  Next time, she turned on her laptop, she managed to connect to our wireless network and she was not invited to enter credentials.
In this case, the manual connection helped solved the problem.
