Security problems of wireless network Windows Vista prevents connectivity

I recently bought a new wireless router and now my HP Compaq does not connect to the network. We discovered that this has to do with the security of the network. Y at - it a patch for Windows Vista fix the problems with the help of WPA/WPA2 Personal wireless security settings?

Hello Mike

The problem is most likely not with the OS, but with the wireless card you are using. I suggest that you first update the network adapter drivers. After that, make sure that you remove all the profiles of the system network. Then try to connect to the machine again. I hope this helps.

    Hello MS.

I have problems with my wireless network card. At this point, I think it's maybe a defective hardware. Here's the problem:

I have an access point SSID which connects, but disconnect every 10-15 minutes. It is offline for a minute until it reconnects automatically or if it is disconnected and I have to reconnect manually it reconnects quickly.

The laptop is a Toshiba Sattelite L50-A-1EH. Network card: Atheros AR956x.

To resolve this problem, I tried the following:

    • Install several drivers, Atheros themselves as well as the drivers of Toshiba for this specific model cell phone section.
    • Install these drivers on Windows 8.1, downgraded to Windows 8 (maybe better driver support was my guess, still no luck)
    • Tried driver versions: 0.0.75/0.0.263/0.0.270/0.0.287 (latest)
    • Changed automatic IPv4 DHCP to static IP
    • Modified profile profile manually created for this SSID wireless

In the event viewer Windows 8 under autoconfiguration service WLAN it says: autoconfiguration WLAN service cannot connect to a wireless network.

Reason for the failure: the pilot disconnected all combining.

The router is not the problem, I have several other devices connected to this point of access without any problems, or whatever.

At this point, I think it is a hardware on the Atheros AR956x card problem because I can not imagine that Toshiba would have a product on the market that is pre-installed with Windows 8.1 which does not work drivers.

    Any thoughts? Very much appreciated.

    Hello badr V.

Let me let you know that I finally managed to fix the problem.

I tried a lot of things, but what ended up working was the following:

Updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.6-> 1.7), decommissioning of 8.1 Windows of Windows 8 and installation of driver in charge of Windows 8. For me, it was 10.0.0.247 who continued to work throughout.

    Thanks for the guide if.

    Yours sincerely,

    Dear all,

I have a problem with my HP Photosmart 7520 printer where all wireless network devices will lose connectivity after a printer has been sent to the printer.

Number of brand and model of the router?

These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.
    • Wake mode 'sleep'
    • All wireless devices stay better connected

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers (wired and wireless) should always be assigned a (fixed) IP address manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network and must be outside the range of the router DHCP.  After the adjustment of the static IP address the computer must be updated to show a Standard TCP/IP port with the IP address of printers under printer properties/Ports.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here and here and still more here.  Video here explains the problem and how to solve the problem. <--> So watch this!
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto Off/sleep/Energy Saving Mode" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check your printer properties.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a socket wall and not to a UPS, power strip or a lightning arrestor. This will cause the printer to drop offline connection and disconnection (checked yes!).

Additional measures to take if you continue to have the problem (if they are posted)...

    Hello

Check with Dell and Broadcom, their documentation diagnostics online and drivers.

    More troubleshooting:

It is possible that the drivers you use, even if later now available, are not
100% Windows compatible 8.1. Check with the manufacturer of your system (motherboard support
Manufacturer of custom systems) and/or the manufacturer of the device. This one, like Intel,
RealTek, Atheros and others may have newer versions is not available to the mother of system
-site of the manufacturer on board. And continue to check in with them regularly over the next year.
Also update the BIOS, drivers from the chipset of low level and major embedded and separate
    device drivers.

Download your applications and devices in Windows 8.1

Don't forget to check the updates of the firmware on the router, because who can have a definite effect
on connections Windows 8.1 same if other OS systems connections are fine.

Check with support of the manufacturer of the system (motherboard for customized systems manufacturer) and/or
the manufacturer of real device driver updates. If there is no newer versions re - install the same
ones. Ask known in their forums (if any) problems.

  • Wireless connectivity problems: Windows Vista displays connected to the internet with good signal, but cannot access the internet more than a few seconds.

    Hello

Recently, I brought a Dell with Windows Vista and a Belkin Wireless adapter in my house somewhere else. The computer has never had problems connecting to wireless internet on the other networks, however since the move I was not able to access the internet. Sometimes the network shows only a local connection and not Internet and other times, the network has a strong signal, a network identified and even an internet connection, but when I open any browser, it is only able to load the Google homepage and I cannot navigate anywhere else. I turned off all firewalls and even uninstalled all 3rd party software protection. I checked all my browser settings and made sure they detect automatically the IP settings and proxy settings. In other words everything seems in good shape, but I still have no navigation capability. Any ideas?

It turns out that I had to remove all the old Wireless USB software that had been used previously (there had been other versions of Belkin and Linksys). I then used the computer from my friend to download suitable driver on the Belkin site for the internet adapter USB I used and BAM.

  • Can not activate wireless after Windows vista install driver problem?

    Hi all

Don't know if this is the right place for the post, if not I apologize in advance.

I have a Compaq Presario C700 (C730EM) on which the hard drive died on me, I have brought a new and installed Windows Vista disc premium edition (not a backup / recovery disc).

Everything seems fine but I can't turn on the wireless, the C700 has a button at the top wireless rough (which has a red LED when not away) to the left side. Normally impose you it, and it lights up (turns blue LED) but nothing!

I have commented on Wi-wired and update windows etc and have tired to find wireless driver I guess that I'm missing? You are not sure if it's wireless missing driver or a keyboard driver?

After installing a few drivers I found where time no joy!

    Can anyone help?

  • HP pavilion d4790y windows Vista cannot connect to internet unless you use WEP wireless

I have a HP Pavilion with Windows Vista 32 bit home premium d4790y.  I can connect to my ISP wireless router using the HP internal network adapter, but the connection between the router and the internet does not work unless I downgrade the router security to WEP.  If I connect to the router via a wired connection, I can connect to the internet without problem even with WPA2.  I did all the troubleshooting steps recommended as reset the router to check updated network adapter, uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver, driver release and renew the ip configuration, etc.  Information?  Is there a newer driver that is not recognized during the update search process?

    Hello

It is a hardware thing and the wireless card does not support this. Changing the wireless card can be the way to go.

    I hope this helps.

What do you mean with SENSE? I never heard tell about.

I put t know what are the causes of the problem too but did you look in Event Viewer? Sometimes, it's really useful.
If you have a network problem, you must update the driver WLAN or LAN (depending on whether you are using). You can find it on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

It would be interesting to know what Windows service, you mean. View more information on this error.
