Problem of recharging satellite 2410 404

Hello

I have a big problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite 2410 404.

Battery does not charge. The orange charge light is on, but windows does not say "supported". The State of the battery is 3%. Sometimes (rerely), it grows up to 5 or 6%. If I deconnect the power suply, the laptop turns off after 10-20 seconds. First I thougt it was a problem with the battery, so I changed it - the problem was still there. I also changed the load table (electronic load) but the problem is still there.

Can it be a problem with the CMOS battery? Because it is empty (If Li-ion battery isn't insinde, laptop loses date and time).

I updated the Bios to the latest version on the website of Thoshiba and I use PowerSaver...

Someone has an idea?

Thanks in advance

Hi René,.

I suspect that the problem may be with your power adapter. Your CMOS battery is not the problem, since this normally recharge your power supply when connected to your laptop. The fact that your CMOS battery is also free of charge indicates that the poroblem lies with the load subsystem or the adapter itself.

Your incorporstes network adapter an electronic controller that adjusts the current goes to your laptop based on demand. I suspect it is insufficient current originally be available to use your laptop and recharge your batteries CMOS and laptop.

  • Satellite 2410-404: General Extension RAM issues

There are two memory two modules (256 + 256) installed on my laptop Satellite 2410-404. There are two locations of memory on my laptop. I want to thank the memory, but I could not find the answers to my questions, but I looked in the manual and to this site and this forum... My questions are

    1. can I extend 256 MB memory by swapping the memory module by module of 512 MB 256? Of memory should what type of module I take?

    or

2 Schould I change the bars of memory at the same time? Of memory should what type of module I take?

    3. What can I do with the old memory modules?

    Thank you in advance,

    Hello

The fact is that you can upgrade the memory maximum: 1024MB.
In this case, you can use the max 2x512MB memory modules.

I've studied a bit and found these compatible memory modules:
    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
    PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)

  • Satellite 2410-404: mini pc card no longer works

    Hello

I have a Satellite 2410-404 with mini pc installed wireless lan card, allowing to work perfectly - up to a few days ago, I installed a pcmcia by levelone wireless network card, just to check if it worked. This was the case, and so I uninstalled the card and the software that came with it. But now my toshiba mini wlan card no longer works! It is actually recognized and installed by the system and shown as being active - but I do not get a connection to wifi even when there is certainly one around. I can't even bring up the list of WLAN networks available (win xp) that normally you can even if there's no matter what available wlan.

I checked the registry and found several remaining entries by levelone... but dare not change or delete since I'm not an expert at all regarding registry stuff. Another thing that bothers me is that when I uninstall the mini pc card and let windows reinstall, it shows as "3 wireless" or even "WiFi 4", which seems to allude to some "connection 2" still occupied by some zombie levelone wireless.

I would appreciate any help on this matter,

    TIA
    Rainer

    Hi Rainer

As you can see all the software, after removing, let a few entries in the registry. In my opinion, you should remove the list of Device Manager wireless card and wireless connections. Restart the device and the wireless card should be recognized and installed again.

The wireless connection you can configure with option of windows. If you use another client to the wireless Wi - Fi disable windows configuration.

    Hello

normally, there should be no problem, but sometimes the BIOS do problems with HARD drive for a bigger change!

In this case, you should look at if a newer BIOS is available on the Toshiba download page!

heating can be a problem because this laptop is designed for hard disks more slow and is not testedwith faster new!

    Hello

Why not check the user manual? As far as I know you will find the information.
However, I examine a little on the net and found information that it is 32-bit/PC-Card Cardbus 16 - Bit interface. In addition, you can use card PCMCIA Type II (x 2) or Type III (1 x).

  • HARD drive 80 GB to the Satellite 2410 404

    Hi all

Can someone tell me whether or not the 2410-404 is compatible with 80 GB HDD? I've got 1.40 bios installed.

I saw somewhere on the internet, which is the sale of kits of modernization including an upgrade of the bios... What is 1.40 bios or another allowing the 80 GB drives?

    Thanks in advance,
    killahertz

    Hello

There is no specific information on this subject. As far as I know if BIOS don't support the HARD drive with the largest capacity there is ability to manipulate the BIOS install different updates to BIOS or even other tools. This kind of things you won't find on the Toshiba download page.

Please check if a provider of HARD disc in your country can help you. I found one in my country. It offers 80 GB HDD even for the old units and it is warranty that it will work properly but is not free.

  • Fan for Satellite 2410 404

    Hi all

the CPU of my 2410-404 Sat fan broke down. I can't seem to get a spare, dealers appear to be out of stock or not will ship to continental europe. I even searched for similar radial fans but so far no luck.

  • Satellite 2410-404: screen is lost and the noisy CPU fan

    Hello

first: sorry for my bad English.

Now: I have several problems with my laptop:
    1. the monitor/screen is lost and does not stand up, so when I want to work with my laptop, I need to address something against the monitor, so it does not fall on the side. All the solutions to this?

    2. my Cpu fan is really strong and I have already opened the case and cleaned, but every day the noise comes back (assumed that his doesn't turn not very well and communicating with once in a while a part of the computer) and I have to reopen and touch several times until it works normally.

    3. Furthermore, I lost my CD of Windows Recovery (OEM Version). Do I have to buy a new one if I want resettled windows?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    1. I guess the lid can not stay in the right position, because the hinges are a little loose.

    2. it looks like something wrong with the rotation of the fan. In such cases the easiest way is to change the fan.

    3. you can buy the CD recovery form the Toshiba service partner in your country. It s not very expensive.
But you can also install the original Windows operating system on your laptop and then you can install the drivers of Toshiba and utilities. All Toshiba stuff, you'll be able to download from the Tosh driver page.

  • Satellite 2410-404: blue screen STOP: 0x0000008E TVALD. SYS

    Hello
last night I tried the WinXP "verifier.exe" tool to check unverified in WinXP drivers.
My system worked very well until this try. After the first reboot, the system load until the home screen where I choose my account (Administrator rights) to load my profile. After the boot process slows down upwards, only windows processes are shown in the lower right bar (icon of sound system, network) and after a while, there is a blue screen with the following information:

    STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XF89A742C, 0XF3DFDB50, 0X00000000)
TVALD. SYS - address F89A742C base at F89A7000, DateStamp 3b7caa6c

    and the system stops.

Please help how to deal with this error, the tvald.sys is a Toshiba system file in the system32 directory.
I have the Toshiba recovery cd, but I have half a month of accounting files that is not registered so I need urgently a fix where I do not format the hard drive.

    Thanks for any help
    Alex

    You are right;
The TVALD. SYS seems to be a Toshiba ACPI-Based value added logical device driver that is required to run the stable notebook.
It looks like these files has been has not signed with a certificate from a trusted windows source and therefore the tool of Windows XP "verifier.exe" locked or deleted. (I put t know exactly what verifier.exe)

I put t know if you were able to solve this problem without using the Toshiba Recovery CD :(
The TVALD. SYS seems to be stored in
    windows\ system32\ drivers\ tvald.sys c:\

    and in the registry here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Services-TVALD

However, in my opinion the verifier.exe tool should be removed and the settings must be reset!
In this case, you can use the XP System Restore tool!
    That's all I can suggest

    Hello

I found the information that your device can handle with 1 024 MB maximum unit has two memory slots, and I think that 2 x 512 MB recommended. This device has been tested with PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51) module memory.

  • Problem starting satellite 2410

    Hello

I have a satellite 2410 and I was using Windows XP Home Edition, and Linux. After the removal of Linux, I deleted the partition using Partition Magic and I think I should have deleted the Windows boot sector. I only have the 2 CD of restoration of todhiba came with the laptop and I'm not able to reach the repair utility that I read on the Internet. I can't start Windows by using a CD-ROM boot manager but I would definitely come back to normal without formatting (I did that 3 weeks!)

    Thank you

    Hello

Unfortunately, your laptop came with the Toshiba recovery disks and this means that you will not have access to the Microsoft Recovery Console, which is part of the Microsoft XP installation CD. Your real option is to restore your XP partition using the recovery discs.

However, if you can boot XP with a CD boot manager then you could try getting a "Ultimate Boot CD" Tróchez This contains various diagnostic and repair tools that may be able to help recover your MBR.
