  Even if a splash screen makes your application a little nicer looking (in my opinion), it is not a prerequisite to be accepted in the App world.

  in my application, before loading my home.html, I need to play a video.

  You have to manage in the logic of your application, and not in the built-in splash screen.

  I usually use some sort of overlay as a viewer, and I add some elements, like video, etc.

• RIM: Splash for Dev Alpha.

  By adding in in the Config.xml file, it should display the image when loading the application. However on the alpha of dev, all this shows is the BlackBerry screen before entering the application. Is this normal or is the splash screen for somewhere else?

  Just a follow-up, I found during the test today that the splash screen works on the Dev Alpha. Then maybe a reboot is required?

  Oh, and the start screen IS the one who normally says BlackBerry just before the application starts.

• Problems of hands free blackBerry Z10 Z10 with Vauxhall Astra

  I just updated my Blackberry 9800 torch that worked very well in my Vauxhall Astra with integrated Bluetooth.  AddressBook synchronized with the car and the voice dialing etc worked.

  The Z10 however connect to the bluetooth car, but do not synchronize with the address book etc and calls must be made and terminated from the Z10 handset which is useless when you drive!

  Does anyone else have this problem? RIM study compatibility issues? I can't even go back to the torch that the sim card is a different size!

  Hands free and works now. The problems have been solved by the latest version of the Blackberry 10.1.0.273 software

  I tried (in vain) to sync my calendar on my Mac (iCal) with my BB storm. It appears to be sync and goes through all the motions, however, when I go to see my calendar on my Storm; shows nothing.

  Everyone knows about this problem? I searched for this advice, but couldn't find anything specific. Is this a problem that RIM is working?

  Ok... I don't want to answer my own questions, but I still have no idea what happened past. I advanced and loaded my Calendar iCal to Entourage (which I never use...) and sync my Entourage with the storm and now my jive of calendars. Why? I have no idea, but iCal did not work and Entourage did.

  Hi there, hope someone out there can offer help or advice. I recently had difficulties to access the App World on my 8310. Receiving the message "upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilities at Blackberry App World. Contact your service provider for more details"I contact my service provider (Vodafone UK) who confirmed my plan includes navigation. I am able to web access, vodafone live, facebook, etc., but each time to connect to get App World, the same message. Tonight, I deleted and reinstalled the latest version, but no change. By the way, I was able to use the service in the past downloaded app facebook etc, it's just in the last four or so weeks I have encountered this problem.

  I also removed battery etc to see if restart works, but nothing works.

  Someone has suggestions

  After surfing through a large number of entries on this forum, it seems that I was not alone with my problem, seems to be a problem of RIM on each network carriers, however, I phoned Vodafone UK, who have been very helpful and resent my service books and prayed I confirmed my email addresses registered with my blackberry via my pc. As a precaution, I removed App World on my device and it recharged, and fortunately it seems to work now.

  I was wondering if I can get some help. I just summer buy a new Macbook Pro for work, and had Production Premium CS6 installed on it. Ive started all the apps and they work fine after installation and the Enter key.

  For After Effects, however when I try and start it up, I don't not even a splash screen. Just the problem attached dialog. I tried to look on the forums but couldn't find anything on boot problems before the splash screen - the custom of the same program are beginning to start.

  I tried an uninstall and reinstall, the same problem again. When I press OK, it takes me to a screen to suggest a work around, but usually I would like to open the link when it says its got a solution.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm working on blackberry webworks app targeting blackberry 7 & lower OS versions. I have a 360 x 480 pixels boot image that adapts perfectly to the BlackBerry curve Smartphone 9380. But the same splash image does not fit into other devices with different screen sizes. So, now I have created the home screen with a different resolution. But I don't know how to use it? Can someone like me how to select the splash screen dynamic based on the resolution of the device or other means to solve this problem?

  Whereas the BB10, you can have several elements of the rim: splash that the device would automatically take the best resolution of.

  Because it is a property of config/xml, there is no way to dynamically assign values. You would need a separate for each loadingScreen dimensions version.

  problem is here, before index.html load I use rim: splash in bb10

  After index.html, before home.html loading I get a black screen, because it takes time to load home.html as home.html as many sections and loading js files.

  How to avoid this black screen before loading my home.html.

• HP Pavilion a6000n desktop: adding false graphic RAM and freezes start.

  Well, I'm back with the same machine as the previous assignments.  I ordered the recovery of Surgeons of the computer disks and that they were unnecessary because the computer does not see any cd/dvd I have to install.  Finally gave up and ordered a Windows Vista recovery usb flash drive and installed the operating system.  I used it very well with the RAM minimum (1 GB).  I decided to upgrade the memory to use all 4 GB.  All four are recognized in the BIOS/Setup with the full 4 GB dispalyed.  The new brand of memory is Samsung.  Everything seems to be as it should.

  Here's the problem: the Windows splash screen appears with the scan progress bar and when it gets to the sixth pass it freezes as black and alternating vertical lines distorted graph color vertical lines appear.  It will remain so until I have shut down, because he has not answered all the keyboard commands.

  I removed two 1 GB modules and restarted without problem.  I've tried three, and he did nothing.  Swapped the output for the two 1gbs modules, I removed and they worked perfectly.  With four on board is the problem presented and only when windows is loading.

  I also tried safe mode.  All four ram modules work with the VGA drivers in safe mode without graphical distortions or freezes.

  I tried to restore the computer to an earlier time with the console of Windows Vista repair because he found from the problems and suggested this course of action.  When I did, he removed my Firefox browser.

  Before that I inform you of why 4 GB will not work, I will inform you of the steps, I took in coming to my conclusion.

  First of all, I found an old PCI VGA card and installed.  Then I started the installer and changed to display pci dashboard.  F10 save and exit.  I left Vista find the new hardware and drivers.  Power off and swapped the cable from the monitor with pci card.  Restarted.  Last good known Configuration.  Made to the desktop with large icons, display etc.  Power off.  Installed all four modules of memory of 1 GB.  The installer confirms the mms of 1 GB in all four banks.  Save and exit.  A frozen fourth passage on the starting Windows progress bar screen.  Display is now less than a hundred multicolored pixels (it looks like stars in the night sky) scattered across the screen with barely perceptible ms inside progress bar.  Killed power as no response to input devices.  Modules removed from DIMM0 DIMM2 (banks 1 and 3) and installed two 512 MB mms instead.  Power, entered installation.  Confirmed 1 GB, 512MB, 1 GB, 512MB in DIMM0-4 (banks 1-4).  Save and exit.

  Eureka!  Starts directly on the desktop with no complications.  Vista even automatically the Resolution 1600 x 900 display value.

  Power off.  Remove the PCI card.  Has changed from the monitor to the integrated connector cable.  Powered on the Setup where I changed the display on board.  Saved and get out.  Straight to the desktop.  All right.  Vista indicates on the installed 3,072 GB 3.0 GB.

  I had read a useless article on the HP Forum that said that HP had made disappear the memory alternative banks.  Thank you for that.  Thanks kaoutar to straighten me out on this.

  After studying the limits of memory on Windows os systems, I made a discovery.  Due to the limitations of physical or software address, Vista cannot use 4 GB RAM in the 32-bit operating system.  You must install os 64 bit where it can use 8 GB to 16 GB.

  Here are a few discussions of support, I found to cooberate my conclusion that 4 GB will not work on this computer, as this is with Vista 32 bit installed.

  Thanks for the reply and assistance Erico.  Installation of Bank alternation of RAM modules corresponding coupled to the reduction of two of these 512 MB back is the solution.  It was an error of installation of equipment so many restrictions imposed by hardware and software manufacturers.  If I or anyone else, wants more RAM under Vista or 7, will need the 64-bit versions.

• DisplayPort monitor does not wake from sleep

  just bought a Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 & realized, I could connect three monitors - yay.

  A few times the small monitor connected via displayport has not awoken from his sleep.  I have a beep as if remove the USB device.  The monitor power on / activate suits him.

  The two monitors connected with DVI awake without problem.

  I see threads referring to assign the displayport as the initial display adapter in the BIOS, but I don't see anything in the my BIOS (XPS 435MT) for graphics cards.  The GPU (I guess it's the GPU) set the dsiplayport as the monitor #1 monitor in the numbering system.  I understand that I have no control over this.  The attached DVI monitors are numbers 2 & 3.

  Carefully analyzed the logs of events during this time & can't find anything.

  Will update & reply to this message, I hope it helps someone else.  Apparently the TriXX is OK on the 7790.

  If this does not work you can try changing the power settings in the BIOS - in my case, in the BIOS power management settings is not set to the sweetest sleep state.

  Right now the ACPI Suspend Type is S3 str:

  ACPI Suspend to RAM: ACPI stands for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface - that some people may find as options in their BIOS Setup programs. The Suspend to RAM, sometimes referred to as feature S3/STR, let the PC save more power in standby mode, but all the breast where the computer-related devices must comply with ACPI. Some BIOS have a S1/POS option for this scenario. If you enable this feature and you are having problems with the splash screen, just go back into the BIOS and disable. (not one of my options)

  Definition of ACPI to form of hunger more power to suspend for example s1 (POS) of power in standby mode could be the answer:

  S1: All processor caches are flushed, and the CPU stops the execution of the instructions. The power of the CPU and RAM is maintained. Devices that do not indicate that they must stay on can be turned off.

  S3: Commonly known as secondary, sleep or Suspend to RAM (STR). RAM remains powered.

  I have an application that support 3 resolutions (240 x 320, 360 x 480 and 480 x 360). In some this resolutions, screen devices touch hadou. My application does not support the horizontal orientation and I need to block anyway.

  My code today, check this models with touch screen, in any file and display an error message on flip, because the paint is done.

  The problem is, RIM has create a new mechanism in this 3 resolutions and with touch support and I will put this model into the file and a new package.

  Is it possible to do without having to specify the models affect? Is there with 4.6.1, a way to know if the unit is touch?
