Problem of Vista Premium update

I bought a hitachi new 250g and installed inmy compag laptop cq50 and used the reinstallation disc to factory settings. Just fine no problems, installed all the updates except IE8 I always have IE 7 and installed successfully. Now the problem when I try to install one of the option updates it says that 'you must provide administration rights. I looked into the user account and I am the administrator. I remember when I bought this computer it has not done this and I also have gateway XP.i vista and it does not ask for it. You have an idea why it is doing this?

Thanks for the reply, I'm sure it will work, but I still want to know why it is like that. If the computer is purchased new and you don't have to get updates of this way, then the computer is restored with the disc and you must use the method above to get optional updates, what has changed? If anyone knows that would be useful.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

    Close and restart IE

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

  • Problem message 66 a updated windows and performace error on Windows Vista

    Original title: windows update error

I have problems to download windows updates.  I bought new spyware, PC unleashed and already have Norton. I tried everything I could think of to fix this.  I changed the settings, cleaned records etc. nothing works.  Considering that I know almost nothing about IT, I'm there winging.  My computer is Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.  It's a gateway bought about 2 years ago.  He sometimes stops for no reason (no blue screen of death again).  I am desperate to solve this problem, but reluctant to take it to a computer repair store.  I tried Microsoft Fix Center several times and tried different repairs but still nothing.  Don't know what happened but suddenly, the computer is slower and updates do not work.

I'm afraid to do too much fear I may damage my computer or worse.  I received the error 66 has time and time again.  I have received various messages which have failed since April but didn't know it was because my computer was always a small icon of security under the start menu that tells me to stop and install the updates so I could do this after I was using the computer think he was installing updates , but obviously none of them.  Now I can't even count how many updates have not been installed.

Due to the scans, I have ran, it was said that my computer has high speed, a lot of RAM etc... but I have problems of instability.  It makes me wonder if it's something personal! Laughing out loud

I would appreciate any assistance available.  Thank you.

There is no problem with Office 2010 Windows Vista. The only one
possible incompatibility, I can think is that you have 32-bit
Windows Vista and you try to put Office 64 bit on it.

  • After using Firefox it will not - I have to re-boot (OS = Vista Premium))

I have Firefox version 25.0.1 and my OS is Vista Premium. My first use of Firefox works normally and correctly. However, after I used Firefox and closed the web page, if I try to go to another link, I get a message that Firefox is still open and recommend that I close Firefox or restart my computer.
I'm unable to close Firefox and start Task Manager does not indicate that it is running. The only option that I found works is to re-boot the computer which is annoying.
I deal with a lot of confidential activities related to maladministration issues so I much prefer to use Firefox which I consider to be more secure than most or all of the other programs for internet use.
I was afraid that one option may be that I am being hacked? (I doubt than that, but it must be in sudden possible reasons for the strange behavior of Firefox) I think that I've updated Firefox a week ago, which has not erased the problem described. I'm on Firefox in anonymous mode using security for the given reason. I recently edited "Cause & Effect" part 4 on organophosphates which was distributed to the United Kingdom; U.S..; The Germany and the India who says that passengers and military crew, personnel and air don't receive the correct treatment for toxic poison. But it's not an advertisement: the publication is free of the British Library. But the victims are many and I want to be able to work effectively to prevent more unnecessary deaths.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    Thank you.

  • HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reinstall Vista premium edition

I have a new computer, clean my registry, and something has been deleted which was not supposed to.    Now, my computer accepts no updates at all. aid coulum says I need to reinstall windows vista premium to fix. Pretty simple.  problem is when I got my new PC out of the box, vista is already installed and the product key is on the side of my Tower. There is no disk that I can remember, and now I'm naïve what to do.    I really want to spend another $ 150, I don't have, something that I wouldn't really need. Is it possible to reinstall vista online if I can prove it is mine and noone elses?         Help, please!

Most new computers come with a version of Vista recovery on a partition of your hard drive.

You need to read the documentation that came with your computer to find out how to start the recovery.

Normally you have to press a button or two while the computer starts up, then ask if you want to restore the computer to factory settings.

Note If you do this will delete EVERYTHING on your hard drive (just what you put on the computer SINCE you bought it).

If this is not available contact the company you purchased the computer turned off and ask them for a set of recorvery CD / DVD.

    One last thing.
