• Book paging InDesign CS3 - Mac versus PC

  I have a book containing about 15 documents in InDesign CS3. I work on a Mac OS X and a PC with XP home. The PC did a great job of page - it has each of the chapters of the book pallate, both in the document. I use 'start page numbering on page x' to the first document in each of the two sections and "continue the previous document number" for each of the other documents. The problem is that when I go to the Macintosh, the numbering is not more automatic a document to a document, and each document in the pallate book now lists the pages in the document (1-28 if there are 28 pages, even if the numbers start at 73) and I need to "go to the x number" for each document to make it work. Then when I go back to the PC, it's messed up here. I'm on a schedule very tight - I would appreciate help with this. Thank you.

I was told that I should switch to 10.5.x, I also bought a new CS3 because I don't have the original so I can't reinstall it. The trouble I'm having, is that when I try to print custom formats, the default values for the printer to 8.5x11. Only in photoshop that it.
