Problem space leader & vertical

And here's one for you.

I have a 77 page document that I'm working on. Let's say you have two text blocks then between them, exactly the same thing, positioned vertically. They are lined up as two columns.

Family of fonts, point size and the interlineations are the same in the two blocks of text. Exactly the same thing! The text styles and paragraph are in use, and a paragraph style is a bulleted list. The ball is a Zapf Dingbat.

However, I have the time harder to get the text in both columns of the line up vertically. I can't figure out why I'm fighting to adjust spacing between each line, and that doesn't work very well.

I don't see why these two text blocks, with the same characteristics of exact type, align. Hard returns are used between each line.

What Miss me?  I can create a new document with the same layout (two blocks of text) and I can get the text to the line perfectly vertical.

Any suggestions?

Screenshots with nonprinting characters would be useful.

My first reaction is one of your styles to paragraph has space before or after you apply the workspace.

  • I have a problem with CSS vertical align. Help!

    This could be an easy fix, I don't know... but I've been customized style BC Photo Gallery and lightbox on this site that I'm doing for a photographer and I got a problem with the vertical alignment.

    I created my own .css document to replace styles Viewer by default in British Colombia, and now all I'm left with tries to Center vertically the lightbox image. I googled some methods and tried, but had no luck...

    Check out the link, and when you click on any thumbnail, you'll see what I mean.

    I know I can't use filling methods, because I work with pictures in portrait and landscape.

    Thanks for your help!

    The light therapy device you use made for the creation of a larger full size of the image.  As a general rule, if you have a portrait image that is larger that the screen of the user enough scroll a little more.

    If you temporarily remove the CSS for "img #lightbox" on line 20 of myStyles.css you'll see how lightbox works in native mode. This should be good since the user wants to zoom and see a bigger picture when they click on it and it will be as big as possible on their screen.

    Once you see what I mean with the changes, I can tell you how to make sure the portrait images do not expand to full height and beyond the viewport. Rather than delete the CSS "img #lightbox" statement like I said before, this time change for:

    #lightbox img {}

    Width: auto;

    height: 100%;

    }

    This will ensure the images in the light therapy device take 100% of the height of the lightbox container and the width dimensionnera automatically to keep the proportion of the image. Landscape photos will be large and landscape photos will not be larger than the viewport.

  • problem with the vertical field Manager

    Hello

    My application has a screen. On this, I add a Senior Manager vertical field. I add new labelfields dynamically to this vertical field Manager.  When I give the text in the constuctor of the etiquette field, each of them is the fine display. But when I tried to draw the text to the painting, it does not appear.

    Here is my code...

    vfm = new VerticalFieldManager(VERTICAL_SCROLL | FOCUSABLE);
            for (int i = 0; i < 4; i++) {
                index = i;
                LabelField labelField = new LabelField() {
                    protected void paint(Graphics graphics) {
                        // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    //                  super.paint(graphics);
                        graphics.setColor(Color.BLACK);
                        graphics.drawText(displayString[index], 0, 0);
                    }
                };
                vfm.add(labelField);
            }
            add(vfm);

    Please help me find a solution.

    First of all, stop saying that it is VerticalFieldManager who has done something bad for you. It has nothing to do with it.

    You use the index in your LabelField painting method. Use paint value is the current value of the index at the time of the painting. Painting happens way after you have created all your LabelFields, when the index stopped to change and has the last value of the loop variable (in your case, it's 3).

    This, as well as LabelFields width zero (that you seem to have supported) so are the problems of your original code. Store the value of i in your LabelField somehow if you insist on using the table values. If only check out you them once and do not change them, consider creating your LabelFields with the text from this displayString table.

    Even better: as you do not use the LabelField paint, why not create a custom field received a text and paint your smileys and all? Of course, you have to implement available as well, but it's useful even when your smileys will take a different width than the corresponding symbols.

    To summarize: your current approach is bad. Take a step back, work on the design, and then implement.

  • Title, line breaks has problems "space after"...

    I have a paragraph style that is designed to sit directly under the previous topic: it is easy to achieve by specifying 0 "Space-Before". The title is "Space Below' also set to 0. Both models line up on the starting grid.

    It works fine EXCEPT: the title does not fit on a single line, but pauses for a second line. In this case, the following paragraph is NOT carefully under the second line of the topic (desired behavior) but "missing a line" of the grid.

    How can I fix?

    The only way a multiline heading and the body of the text can align to the network without spacing problem is if the main topic is a multiple of the line spacing for body copy.

    Hi, I appreciate the help, but I don't mean to get rid of the formatting that the divs allows me.

    You can put any selector just as you wish.  IMO, a division of gazillion tags is not an effective coding practice and should be avoided.

    I don't understand why I need two paragraphs after each div text to get the div to the one above it.

    The problem you had before could have been due to the absolute layers and containers. I know Murray usually shows that these links about why staying away from absolute positioning can be a bad thing:

    http://www.great-Web-sights.com/g_layer-overlap.asp
    http://www.great-Web-sights.com/g_layersdemo.asp

    I did a quick remake of the site and did not generate these errors. I was always using layers, but I decided to the top of your background image and used expandable images for the side with the top and bottom as their own slices with a container in the middle. Sorry I don't have a specific change this answer, but there seems to be something with these layers.

    I have a blackberry 10 cascades app with the code below.

    How could I get the button to fill the entire screen? I would have thought the following would do the trick, but it doesn't. The button expands horizontally to fill the width of the parent, but vertically the buttn just at the top of the screen the same as if I had not called setVerticalAlignment() at all.

    Any ideas? Maybe it's a bug?

    Thank you very much in advance.

    //-----------------------------------------

    Page * Pg = new Page();

    Button * butt = new Button();
    Welding end to end-> setText ("well");
    Welding end-to-end-> setHorizontalAlignment (HorizontalAlignment::Fill);
    Welding end-to-end-> setVerticalAlignment (VerticalAlignment::Fill);

    PG-> setContent (Butt);

    Application::instance()-> setScene (Pg);

    I really expect that this works only inside a container with a DockLayout. I don't know what pages in terms of layout, but I'm going to guess that they do nothing, which would mean that their single 'content' component would not adjusted at all position and sat at 0,0 or the upper left corner.

    It looks like you to experiment a little... in practice, I don't think that someone never put a single item non-conteneur on a Page, but generally always a container of other stuff in it. The default value for a container is StackLayout, so you will need to change to DockLayout and default alignment for stuff is Left and Top, so it should work with your Center for vertical alignment.

  • Problem Manager of vertical area

    Hello

    I'm currently provide a screen that displays text using a manager of vertical field of the to do. Since that, I recently added a bitmap to the screen. Now the trackball on the Simulator and the current system does not scroll upwards or downwards, and subsequently that half of the image is displayed. This is my code:

    You must make your LabelFields ASSETS too.
