Problem to create a recovery media for 442BL NB305

Hello world
First of all, I apologize if responded to my question before
I just buy Toshiba NB305 Netbook 442BL
I created the flash recovery with the Toshiba recovery software but I don't want to keep my recovery only media on usb flash. As you know netbooks don't have a DVD burner and I want to have the recovery DVDs too. Then I used the external DVD burner to create recovery DVDs. But I couldn't do it. After a few minutes accumulate on an error.
Unfortunately, he write unknown error.
Now I need help to solve this problem. If one of the solutions below works, my problem is solved:
(1) can I image my usb flashes? and to restore it I have to blink
(2) can I image the recovery without software Toshiba recovery partition?
And finally I can fix the problem of process writing
Thank you

Hi Bill,

What type of DVD you used to burn recovery disk? I m still using DVD-R from Verbatim and TDK media, it works.

But in my opinion the easiest way is that make a backup (image) of the USB. As far as I know that it works with a normal backup program like Acronis True Image. You can save the backup recovery USB stick on another drive, for example.

But normally if you don t use the USB it will work if you need it. ;)

    Hi Mike,.

Any changes made to the unit before that happened? You still have the original operating system of this device?

  • What? You did not create a recovery media for your laptop?

My son has a 2000 HP, which was under Windows 7. He downloaded the free update of Windows 10 and it worked fine for a week or so until an automatic update ran a few weeks ago, and now the only thing he has is a black screen that says, "an operating system not found'.

His laptop came pre-loaded with Windows 7 and the sticker key on the bottom of the machine code is in tact, however, he does not remember where he put the real backup drives, it is a few years since he bought his computer.

Anyway is to reinstall Windows 7 without the disc? I read that you can create an ISO but I have no idea what that means or the steps I need to take to make. My computer is quite old and running Vista. I'll be able to download the ISO and burn it to a DVD or Flash drive using a Windows Vista laptop with success? If so, can someone walk me through how I would go all this? Also, if the ISO is a viable option, should what steps I take to get his laptop up and running again after that?

    Thanks for your help!

    You are the very welcome.

It will not matter what operating system, you go to the site of.

As you said it is just a file and it will download even on a PC with XP or Windows 10.

But you won't be disappointed with the result, I'm afraid.

  • HP 15 Notebook - r063tu model: what quality of Flash drive required for creating recovery media for laptop 15 HP (r063tu)?

I want to create a recovery media for my laptop HP 15 (model r063tu) on a Flash instead of DVD drive (had a bad experience with the DVD in the past). Should I buy a 16 GB or 32 GB of capacity 3.0 USB drive. Because it will only be to create recovery media, obviously I won't be able to use it for other purposes, so want to buy everything as this is sufficient (and save on costs!). Thank you.

    Hello

32 GB is necessary because the recovery partition is almost always about 20 GB or more.

my laptop has a message asking to "create a system recovery media. Since the purchase of the laptop, I have upgraded to win10 (the free version online), of win8.1, which I upgraded to 8.0 immediately after purchase. I have a set of 3 drive recovery I think I did when I bought the HP. The instructions indicate that only a game can be made. In addition, the instructions show that more than 3 disks are required. But when I start the process only a USB option is available. How can I determine if the 3 disc set is the right game for this PC? I'm confused.

    Hello slickamis;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on creating recovery media and wanted to help.

If you create HP recovery support before proceeding with the upgrade to Win10, it's a waste of time trying to do it now.  Why?  Two reasons...

First of all, the update of Win10 has a bad history of corrupting the recovery OEM information, and if this happens to you, any media that you create does not work.

Second, that the media would have been for the original operating system, and the recovery information are not updated when you upgrade the Win10.  So the media could serve as a recovery of Win10.

My suggestion is if you want to create a recovery media for Win10, then consider using a third-party solution known as Macrium reflect (MR).

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.  In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Satellite U840T - cannot create USB recovery media

Can someone advise please - I have a new U840T Satellite with SDDS and try to create a recovery media using a USB key.

The Toshiba 'Recovery Media Creator' inviotes I plug a USB key at least 10.4 G. So, I inserted a new USB 16G. The app clearly did not see this, even if it is recognized by the PC itself, no problem.

When I press 'create' to load the stick, the app just says: "the process of creation for all media was cancelled" is not only wrong spelling, but completely useless.

I do something wrong, ir is just a very poor app?

    Thank you very much...

  • Recovery media for Tecra M10 - 10I required

    Hi all

Sorry to post this here, but I hope someone can help me out here because unfortunately, after talking to a member of staff at Toshiba UK, the support I need, they can provide.

I am a totally blind systems engineer and entrepreneur specialized in the legends of emergency to companies and specialist requirements, as well as installation, commissioning and decommissioning requirements, etc.. Recently, I lost my laptop main, unfortunately, he died because of overheating due to his age, a professional platform adapted to my needs to run the tools of my trade. the jury, burned into the RAM and HARD drive with her, it means I'm out of action,

However, a friendly contact of my friends helped me with gift of a system of Tecra M10 - 10i who arrived this morning, to be configured, etc.. However, the internal HARD disk was photographed with a default image of their company and not the official recovery / installation OEM. The disk HARD deleted anyway and RAM upgraded to 8 GB to become my replacement. Right now I am borrowing a member of the family system and running an edition of reader pen of my screen reader configuration. so access to emails, notes, etc. only.

My setup is based on different hardware and software components including chassis magma with PCIE cards, for data and the access control etc.

What I would do, it is the Image of the system using Toshiba recovery disks, however, I can't get hold of them through toshiba site and the site that sells isn't easy to blind, or use credit cards, etc., so here's the problem. Toshiba tell me that they can not provide recovery media and I have to go to a provider they use on the web and order records, etc.

This may be against policy here, so I apologize if this is the case, however, anyone here happen to have the recovery media for a system Tecra M10 - 10i, so Windows Vista Enterprise or Windows 7 Pro or similar that can update the system? The reason I ask because it is, it is easier for me to use a recovery image based or automated Ghost for this so I can install my screen, braille display driver reader interface, etc. and be running, rather than panic during the configuration of the audio without braille drivers / audio feedback.

If you can help, please e-mail me at [email protected]

    Cheers.

    Ed

    > What I would like to make, it is the Image of the system using Toshiba recovery disks, however, I can't get hold of them through toshiba site and the site that sells is not blind to the environment, or use credit cards, etc., so here's the problem.

Dear Ed, I'm sorry to hear that it of difficult and impossible for you to order the Toshiba recovery from the Arvato page disk. Unfortunately, I m not Tecra M10 owner and don t have recovery for this unit disc.
But maybe you could ask a family member or a friend for assistance.

It (a credit card owner) could place an order for recovery on page Arvato disk and could order the media for you.

  • HP Envy X 2: laptop recovery partition (D) merged with another partition, not be able to create a recovery media

I have merged my restore partition HP with another partition I created. Data recovery files are still intact in the New Partition. I have not created a recovery media. When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

  • How can I create system recovery disc for a new laptop with windows 7 Home Premium?

I just bought my daughter a new Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home Premium laptop last night. The laptop came with a Windows restore disk. How to create a set of boot from the DVD then when the system fails, or I need a new facility? I created a system repair disc and two-disc Image recovery. Is this enough to fully restore Windows 7 to the initial state of machines? (Technology at best buy assured me that it was nothing that I was able to do and that they would do for me for $70.00.)

In short: my Dell came with a system recovery disk which was very convenient. I would like to reproduce this convenience with Windows 7. Any help appreciated.

    Jim

You will need to follow the manufacturers directions to create the recovery media. Looks like you've done that, but Toshiba could only say with certainty. I recommend that you contact their customer service.

  • Create product recovery media does not work after restoring to factory settings

Updated my T500 from 160 to 320 GB.

First of all, ran the RnR restore to factory settings with the product recovery media that I made earlier. And then restored my C: volume from my Windows Home Server backup.

Everything seems as usual except my service partition is now f: instead of S: and my Lenovo partition is H: instead of q:-I tested it I can get into the RnR with F11 service partition.

But when I try to create new recovery media product the ICT box is grayed out on the first prompt so I can't continue. Put back the partition of Lenovo on q: in disk management has not changed anything, he would let me change the letter of the service partition.

It's no big deal - I still have my original disks - but it would be good to know what I could improve for the next time I have to do a restore.

Think that I thought about it - when I restored my C volume I also restored a version of RnR who 'knows' I already burned disks. So next time if I want to burn new disks, I need to do on the version of the system factory setting before you restore the volume C:.
