And if I do this new partition after recovery, he will be existing or not, and I mean my files on this partition

    THX

When you buy new laptop it comes preinstalled with recovery image and has factory settings. If long you have factory settings you will be able to install the OS with the help of HARD drive recovery facility.

If please before do you and change anything create recovery (recovery discs) DVD using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool. It may happen that after that change installation drive recovery HARD structure partitions will not be more.
    > And if I do this new partition after recovery, he will be existing or not and I mean my files on this partition
After recovery you will absolutely the same structure of partitions as you have now. So be careful with that, and before installing recovery image al backs up your data to an external device.

Best program? Best program for me has been to Partition Magic.

  • Make a new partition on the HDD of the Satellite a series

    Hi friends
I tried to divide my hard drive since the Panel---> computer---> storage management, but I found this:
My HARD drive divided 1-EISA configration 1.46 GB! (what is drive?)
2 - my C drive (which I want to divide)

When you try to shrink my C size available only for shrinkage is 44.8 GB (although my C is 186 GB!) & I found a note saying: "size of available shrink space can be only if the snapshot or license file ', so no soultions to my new drive more than 44.8 GB?
No recommendation for other partitioning programs

In disk management, when I click with the right button on my hard drive and try to reduce it, an error message comes up saying:

    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

Original title: Windows XP Home Edition Partition Question

I tried to create another partition on my computer running Windows XP, but when I go to disk management, it doesn't let me do anything when I right click on a partition. I can't make a new (tried with cmd and disk management) and I can't change the current criteria. Is there an option somewhere that prevents you from changing or something? Almost many of the options are grayed out and I can't make a new partition. How can I fix? I want to make another partition.

  • New Partition under Vista

How to make the New Partition of existing partition in windows vista home edition?

How to make the extended partition?

    Hi Nicole,.

    Thanks for posting answers.microsoft.com

My understanding of your message, it is that you are willing to REDUCE your current Partition to make a new partition of space it is?  I want a full clarification before provide you specific instructions of what you're trying to do, so I won't give you instructions on something different then exactly what you expect.
    If this is correct;

Here are the steps on how to go about the reduction of your current partition and then create a new partition in the space that became available after the reduction of this partition.

    1. Make a good backup of your system on an external device.

(Click on key E - made Windows right click on the drive you want to save and select Properties, in the tab tool select BACKUP now - follow the Backup Wizard to back up your files to an external device).

    1. Make a point of good your system restore if you need to send back to him at any time after this process.

Once backup/restore point in place, we can start working on the reduction of the volume, and then if you want new partition creation.

Click on start ORB / right click on computer and select manage / disk management module, you can find the disk that contains the partition in the gray box at the bottom of the window.

Right click on the partition and select Shrink Volume / he'll consider available disk space, and then submit the size of available shrink the partition by.  Then in the field, it will provide for type the amount you want to shrink the partition of the space.

In the example, the size of available free 21525 MB of space / enter the amount to shrink in MB ___mb.

Once you have entered the amount you want to reduce the volume by, select SHRINK.

It will take a while so he can shrink this partition, and when that happens, it will leave you can do a new partition on the UNALLOCATED SPACE.

To make the new partition to the UNALLOCATED SPACE, right-click on this space and select NEW SIMPLE VOLUME.  Follow the wizard to create the size of the partition, drive letter, FORMAT VOLUME until the process is complete.

  • Problems & Questions for the new Win7 ult partition

I have a few questions and problems at the present time. I got my alienware served 18 for a new HDD and SSD a few hours ago and now I'm stuck with a paperweight 12 lb bulky $ 4000.

    Questions:
    1. when it is initialized from the USB, I get an error "no boot disk.
    2. has been able to install the operating system with the DVD provided with a new partition on the SSD. However, executives don't download and enter a key update my drivers.
    3. just not sure how to proceed with the partitioning of the disks. I guess it's probably the same as my office... but that leads to the questions below.
    4. I saw some guides on the support page, but I have not seen anything with a SSD and HDD configuration.

    Issues related to the:
    1. is there a guide out there, that I can use to reinstall windows to a HDD and SSD costs for a computer laptop alienware?
    2. do I need to manually configure my hard drives for one SSD and HDD format? (I am familiar with putting since I did for my custom desktop computer, but I want to know whether or not this can occur automatically or somehow somewhere?)
    3. is there a guide for question 2?

This thing has been a puzzle since the first day with random blocks and just want to make it work correctly for once. When you have a deadline, no access to your desktop computer because of the location and a device that blocks around 5 to 20 times in one hour at random... The frustration.

Thanks in advance. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Here's what happens; I'll make a new folder and everything that comes is a compressed (zip) folder in place of the original folder itself, I went to the command prompt and done sfc/scannow and it says I have to be signed as an administrator and start a console session and regedit doesn't seem to work either I copied and pasted the code in Notepad as well and it gives me an error that says: I can import the files binary registery within the registry editor. I am not sure what is or means, but a problem simply adds another. No one knows what to do when this happens?

Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible for the loss of the option new folder. Even if Chrome has not been installed, here are two patches.

    Hello Kaj_R.

If you change the volume, it is likely that the recovery partition will not work.  I suggest that you create a set of recovery media before playing with partitions.

This document can help you create the recovery media.
