  I just bought HP Probook s 4530 with 500 GB HARD drive. The problem is that this machine has only a single partition and two partitions of system. The only partition is more than 480 GB and it has Windows installed on it.

  Now, I want to create multiple partitions without harming the windows partition. What is the safest way to resize the windows partition. Second, if I create the partitions I still would be able to use the recovery options?

  Your recovery feature does work as expected after changing the partitions. Burn your DVD recovery set before changing the hard drive.

  Hello Kaj_R.

  If you change the volume, it is likely that the recovery partition will not work.  I suggest that you create a set of recovery media before playing with partitions.

• Do not create a new partition

  I installed window 7 HP on my lenovo g580 but I encountered some problems at the stage of creation of partition ~ I had 2 unassigned partition and at the same time to create the 'NEW' partition ~ but I got the message saying that "the window cannot be installed in this hard disk space. the selected disk is the maximum number of partition of this type"after I created a new partition which means I got this message when I tried to create another partition ~ what is this average n how to solve this problem?

• A Recovery Key 8.0 - 8.1 windows - create new partitions

  Looks like I'm again back and forth until the beginning of the loop about the one key recovery after checking with Lenovo customer support. Can you help me on the underside. However, I feel that well documented procedures for a recovery key 8.0 is missing rather than simply explain the navigation. I have laptop 59436412 z50-70 with pre-built windows 8.1

  Apart from others (recovery, OEM, other) partitions I have 2 partitions that are C (windows 8.1) 890 GB and D (drivers) 25 GB however I want to create additional partitions (4) to organize my files. Can I go directly to diskmanagement and reduce the amount of C in about 300 GB, and then create more number of partitions available space?

  DISCLAIMER: I do not use OKR.

  Based on the documentation and messages that I read about OKR, it requires your partitions of HARD drive to stay the same size as the shipped factory. What Lenovo customer support center said is correct! ANY change in the size of the partitions C or D will cause OKR to FAIL.  (there are messages indicating this failure after changing the size of the partition).

  The OKR create recovery media is designed to work with a USB key.  It will not work with a DVD.

  You can try to backup of Windows running with the backup being stored on the C drive, or second HARD/usb drive, etc.

  FOR INFO.  A HARD disk can contain only 4 ordinary partitions.  Greater than 4, you will need to allocate partitions SCOPES.

  That's what we tried to tell you. An OEM installation does not lend itself to change and having to clear guarantees for re-setup means that you must be quite certain that you have other reliable ways to re-setup.

  If you want to dabble with Linux or dual boot, you should buy a complete commercial edition of Windows 7 that will give you more flexibility and accept that for drivers etc, you're on your own...

  To better protect your files an external USB hdd is a good investment of backup. You can also use it to make a System Image of your hard drive that can be used to restore windows and all software/drivers if you need to reinstall. 1 > guide 2 > guide

  I use Win7 Pro and that you have a standard installation of toshiba plant. I have reduced the size of my Partition C and you want to create a new 60 GB for my data partition. The free space is 65,43 GB unallocated space directly after the main C (152,38 GB) partition.

  Every step is behaving normal Nigerian I am trying to format the new partition. The message error is "there is not enough free space on the disk/disks. I tried to format a smaller portion of the free space, IE 1, 5 or 10 GB, but still the same result.

  Prior to do any create a recovery media and make backup recovery image. How to do this you can read in the document of the user manuals. It is very important. After having changed the structure of partitions, you can have problems with HARD drive recovery facility, especially if you are trying to format this partition of 10 GB recovery.

  As far as I know, you can reduce the C partition and create the new partition. I tested it today on my machine and everything works fine.

• Startup BOOTCAMP partition problems

  Hi, I've seen a few posts that are very similar to mine, but I can't seem to get to the bottom of this issue. Here's the background on what happened:

  I ran El Capitan on a single OS X partition and decided to run Boot Camp Assistant and install Windows 10 on a new partition. It worked perfectly, and I have been using Windows and start back. So, I decided that I would create a new partition for easy sharing files between the 2 BONES using a Fat-32 file system so that the two operating systems can have read/write access. I did it with the disk sideways utility Mac and everything seemed to go smoothly. Also, I don't touch my BOOTCAMP partition, but took all the space for the new partition on the side Mac. Everything seemed fine... until I tried to start again under BOOTCAMP. Now this partition is not recognized as bootable, but it is accessible from the side Mac and everything seems intact.

  My theory was that because the BOOTCAMP partition moved from 4 to 5, this confused sort of things. I decided that I loved not more to have the shared partition, so I erased it. Then I tried to delete this partition, but I am unable to do by using normal mode or recovery disk utility. I tried to disassemble and then delete in both modes. I scoured the internet looking for a solution and I am completely stuck. This seems like it should be a super simple solution, but it is frustrating that I can't understand it. I don't think that I've damaged or corrupted something and I just need to be able to start in Bootcamp.

  When you say that you have formatted your Windows partition, you format you through installation of Windows (2nd screenshot)? To this screen that displays all partitions, you have chosen the one you want to install to and then click on Format for the Windows install process can format NTFS?
