Problem transmitter 3D laptop from Alienware M17X R3

I took the time to empty the windows 10 and my system Windows 8.1 and return to an absolute clean install of Windows 7 Professional. My latest Nvidia driver listed on the Dell Support site is the Gfx _NV_P11_306.97_1FWD3_setup_ZPE that works very well for my graphics and PhysX software. However, it does not load the Nvidia 3D drivers, but it says that it cannot initialize the internal 3D transmitter. Please check the connection. I bought a spare transmitter and reinstalled to see if this corrects the problem. Unfortunately, the results are the same, even if I load the original 3D Nvidia driver that was used when the computer was new. Is related also to the 660 M GTX graphics card or it will persist if I use either the 260 m, either cards Nvidia 470 m?

Thanks for any help in this matter.

Big3demerson

The only way to get 3D to work was to reinstall the GTX 460 M graphics card and Flash the bios with bios Dell Alienware. It works fine then.

  • The upgrade of the SSD on my laptop from Alienware 17

Hello. I just got my new laptop Alienware 17 game and so far, I am VERY impressed with its performance. Frame rates are amazing in everything I tried, and it remains very cool compared to my laptop XPS15. It has a 'boot' of 256 GB drive and a dish of 5 400 rpm 1 TB disk for storing data.

I want to improve the SSD 256 GB for a 1 TB SSD. I bought the 1 TB SSD and cloned the 256 GB for it. I opened the laptop according to the manual and looked at the "primary" hard disk, expected to be the 256 GB SSD but rather what I found in this slot machine is the data of 5 400 rpm 1 TB drive. Research in the 'secondary' Bay, I see that it is empty. I can't put anything I want on the 256 GB SSD, that's why I bought the 1 TB SSD. Where the 256 GB SSD, and how will install the SSD 1 TB as primary drive (boot)?

I also intend to upgrade the flat disc at 1 to 7 200 RPM SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) after the SSD upgrade. I need first of all put the SSD well. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for listening, and I'll be happily play until I can find an answer.

    Best,

    Marc

Here's what I decided to do:

Keep the record of 256 GB m2 for start-up and cache. The CT 1 SSD is the main location for my apps and games. I removed the disc 5 400 rpm and put a 1 to 7 200 RPM SSHD in the secondary location. The 5 400 1 TB drive is now in surplus but can be used for other purposes. Everything seems to work properly.

Thanks for all your comments, it's much appreciated.

    Best,

    Marc

I have a rather annoying thingy with my laptop. When I do something on my laptop where noise is involved ( play games , play music , etc. etc. ) and I have ear plugs / headphones inserted , the sound is coming out of both my speakers and my headset.I do not know how long I already have the problem, I discovered it today when I took my headphones off for a moment.

Do any of you know how I can fix this? So that if I insert my headphones , the sound just goes through the headphones and not through the speakers at the same time. I Googled for a while now but I cant find a way to solve it. (Im not a PCs / laptops expert)

    Thanks in advance.

Hello. Please post your problem again, because half of your text has been cut. You may need to type it instead of paste.

Try to switch to the native Windows audio driver.

    1. open Device Manager (found in the Control Panel, or type devmgmt.msc in the search box).
    2. develop the 'audio controllers, video & game' and right click on the Creative Labs Recon pilot.
3 Select this option to "Update driver software".
    4. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.
    7. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio"(native driver).
    8. click on "next".
    9. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).
10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the Recon pilot, do it again but reverse steps 2-7 names].

If you have only the symptoms with one of the drivers, then the other is at fault. If you have the same symptoms with two audio drivers, then it is likely not a driver problem, maybe material.

  • Only intermittent problem with wifi on alienware m17x with qualcomm wireless killer

Hi, I have an alienware M17x with windows 8.1 and qualcomm wireless killer. I have a serious problem with intermittent wifi, that appears when I use programs like Skype, steam, multiplayer games, etc.

Even if the wifi is connected, the connection suddenly stops working sometimes, especially when I use the applications mentioned above. (if I try to load a Web page during this time, the page remains attached to "resolving host"). Strange thing is if I disconnect and reconnect to the wifi Internet starts working immediately. Or I can wait a few minutes and the connection is re-established automatically. This isn't a problem with the network, because I had this problem on countless wifi networks I've worked, and all my other devices work fine in the same time, that my laptop no longer works.

Additionally, this problem occurs only on wifi, if I use a connection cable, this never happens. (this is not yet a case of the wifi signal strength, as happens even when I am sitting right next to wifi router and wifi in the notification area icon is visible full signal).

In the last months, I tried various possible solutions, but none of them have solved this problem:

    -Updated to 8.1 windows

-Update of the qualcomm network drivers

-Stop of various applications that I think might have been the origin of the problem

    -Uninstall completely different applications

    -Close all anti-virus programs

Still after all of these steps, the problem persists. It would not be a big problem, as the loss of connectivity is not permanent, but what makes multiplayer games completely unplayable on my alienware machine. :(

Just today I tried to launch AlienAutopsy test for my network card in Killer Wireless - N 1103 several times, and each time that the "transfer of data verification test" failed due to no connectivity (all other tests passed very well, only this one test failure all 6 times). I thought that it could be linked and gave me some hope that I might be able to target the cause of this unique problem. Therefore, I post here. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated!

An update is available that solves this problem.

Downloaded Update site Web Protexis, Inc. and told to follow the steps in the installation wizard. The file downloaded and said he was setting up installation. Then after a few seconds, the box has disappeared and nothing else happened. How will I know if this problem has actually been resolved? My laptop has shown 6 problems with this unit from 30/07/11-08/12/11, where the unit has stopped working. Because I don't know what it is yet, I don't know really if the problem is solved or not. What should I do at this point? I have a SP2 7520-5185, running Vista Home Premium, Acer-Aspire. Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hello

If you have installed a trial or paid a licensed version of Corel software products, you probably may notice a third unannounced software application makes its way into your computer too. The program is PSIService.exe by Protexis, which installs a Protexis V2 of Licensing Windows operating system service or Protexis licensing service.

PSIService belongs to protect DRM (digital rights management) copy protection and license management software, which is intended to protect an application or software against piracy and illegal copying. Thus PSI service is normally installed by another program, such as Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X 2, Corel Paint Shop Pro XI (X 1), Corel Paint Shop Pro X, that uses its service to collect information of license to repatriate much like spyware, protect copy and authenticate the user who is using an authentic version of the program.

When you tried to download and install the program, if the box that says closed the dialog box when the download is complete has been verified, it will close the dialog box.

I suggest that you restart the computer and check if you get an error message.

  • R4 SERIOUS Alienware M17x adapter issues

I had the typical Alienware M17x R4 "connected load does not," since I bought this laptop. I spent almost $3 k on this thing, and I've been through THREE Dell OEM 240 Watt adapters because of this problem. These things are expensive, like $100 a piece. Whenever I have buy a (I have more warranty) the problem goes away for about 2-3 months, then comes back. He arrived at the point where it's good now I write this on 70% battery, and I can't get it fixed.

Usually, when I boot it says "the card is not taken in charge, blah blah blah, please press F2 for boot menu"

And I usually get this screen:

Usually I would disconnect and reconnect my adapter in all 20 times until he finally said a/c Adapter Type: [240W]

but it is blocked to [Unknown] once again, and this time it isn't give.

I tried all the recommended methods.

1: I emptied the power to remove adapter, battery, and freezes for a minute, then plugging power back. I did about 6 times, and it always starts up an adapter not recognized.

2: I tried to unplug and plug the adapter cord

3: I tried to use different ankles

4: I tried to reinstall the BIOS A12 several times, does not

5: I tried uninstalling the driver for ACPI compliant battery check, still nothing

6: I tried to run ePSA assessment of seed, which tells me that this:

That my battery is charging to 255 Watts instead of 240 Watts.

7: I tried to replace my battery and my card. Several times. 1 warranty, the rest of my pocket.

8: I tried to let the computer stay off for a while, cool completely.

9: I tried to update all my drivers.

I am completely out of options, the only thing is to possibly replace my motherboard, which would be ridiculous that this is going to be long and costly. I'll probably just have to take my business elsewhere I got extremely poor support just because my warranty has expired. I won't pay $300 for another year of warranty, so that they can work on the setting of a defective product.

I just want to know if you have any suggestions where to go from here? If it's fixable?

If not, what other phones would you recommend that would not have this problem?

    Hello

It seems that you tried all recommend them troubleshooting procedures for this type of problem. We believe that it is a problem with the motherboard, since you've already tried to use different adapters. For this type of repairs, we recommend that you check with ztronics.com.

  • Alienware M17X battery knows a permanent failure

    September 30, 2016.

I am the owner of an Alienware M17X R3 model I purchased in November of 2015.

I had noticed that my machine seems to experience performance several questions when the battery shows it was plugged in, but do not load. Naturally, when the computer is disconnected and reconnected to power, this issue seems to be fixed. However, I remember that on September 9, I had unplugged the power, and my computer had armored black before my eyes.

As I began once more my computer, I received the message that my battery has known a permanent failure and had to be replaced. In the hope of a solution, I began to ask one of my colleagues on my problem, their response was that my battery was included and was therefore irreplaceable. However, I had contacted an expert who offered their services to install the battery they need the correct model.

I started looking for some common types of battery online, but none of them have good customer customer, some stating that the battery didn't fit with their computer, or declared not satisfactory on condition of their model. I decided to reject buying stacks of marketing unreliable or non-official.

My question is where to find the correct battery type who fixed my computer and how? I prowled around which I guess is the stock of Dell, but I can't find the battery I want.

I'm still currently a college student, and I can't be away from my computer for more than seven days. This should explain why I can't send my machine to the manufacturer for repair.

My family and I are traveling in cross-country skiing for the wedding of my sister in November, so I'll need a working computer at work of our arrival. Is there a possible solution to this?

Wait patiently for a response. Thank you very much for your time!

    Hi all

I had problems with an unknown device for quite awhile.

Just re-formatted my Alienware M17x R3 for Windows 8 Pro, set far to 8,1 (run Win 8 since beta test) and still have an unknown device.

    Identification tag details...

    ACPI\VEN_CPL & DEV_0002
    ACPI\CPL0002
    * CPL0002

This is a system of 64-bit, 16 GB of Ram, Intel i7-2720QM CPU, Intel HD 3000 + Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 M graphics.

Hope someone can help identify this persistent problem "unknown devices".

    Thanks in advance

    Roy.

PS. I am aware that this laptop is not taken in charge to win 8, but it works 99% of the time, but with sometimes one or two times a week Driver_Power_State_Failure crashes

It should be on display driver see here:

Try taking the driver Windows 8.1 since the M17x-R4:

  • Think of the GPU for Alienware M17x R4 upgrade

    Hello

I plan to upgrade the GPU on my Alienware m17x R4. Currently I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 m, but I'm looking to possibly go to the 680 (or perhaps a more powerful if there is one for Nvidia cards).

I just had a few things I want to clarify before committing to anything whatsoever. First of all, my warranty would allow me to upgrade this component or it would be zero if I did (I heard various things about it, especially as you can, but depending on your region for the most part. I live in England and I think I'm ok but just want to double check).

Second, so far, I'm having little luck finding graphics cards for laptops for sale online. I was able to contact dell about buying one of them directly (If Yes, who is better to ask?) or are there other places I look for them?

Thank you very much in advance guys!

    Bobby

    Hi Bobby,.

The 680 m from NVIDIA is one of the good GPU right now. The warranty on the computer will stay as it is except the video card replaced (a video card will get a separate guarantee which is quoted at the time of purchase).

You can message NataliaatAW or use the link below to contact Dell UK. They can help you in the purchase of GPU:

  • Alienware m17x R3 - Win 10 updated

    Hello

I have an Alienware m17x R3 (2011), which came with Win7. Dell/Alienware did not bother to provide the official drivers updated for Win8/8.1 on this model.

My question is, should I reserve an upgrade to Win10, there will be no support driver from Dell for this new OS or I'm just stuck with Win7 forever on this Alienware model?

    Thank you!

You upgrade or do a clean install? I try to get W10 my 17 x R3 and will do a clean install, not upgrade. Maybe that can solve the problem with the video card. I also want to tell you that I recently had to replace my video card and I use the 'Windows' drivers, I do not have the installed AMD catalyst and its fine to work for SWTOR and survival of the Ark.

Hope this helps and I think Dell has intensified with Alienware updated driver.

Everything you did before but not FN + F7 at the end. However, I'd install drivers Nvidia from Dell this time. The last Dell has is either 347.52 (WHQL-quality; you can get this driver from the Alienware support page 13/15/17 R2 on the Dell support site) or 350,12 (beta for Dell). There are also 347.90, but it is quite difficult to find a complete driver for this driver.

When you uninstall the drivers of the GPU, use DDU. It's just a more sure way to uninstall the drivers.
