  I am now on my iPhone second 7 with Verizon. I had four phones for me and my family. I have now had issues where I have no signal in the same areas where my signal allows to be strong.   (1) go to settings/cell phone/cellular data Options/enable LTE and select ONLY the DATA. This seems to solve the problem (as a temporary solution) for most of the people affected by this problem.   Try to download the free 'autonomy' of the App Store app. It will test your battery and let you know if you have a problem with it. Sometimes the hardware problems with an update, sometimes it's just a coincidence.

  Edit: Factory reset you did a full restore of the system like that? If you've done this from the phone itself, it did install a new copy of iOS.

  The problems started when iTunes has stopped to see my iPhone when I connected it to my computer. Then, an error message is appeared when I plugged in my iPod, telling me to iTunes it was detected, but there was a problem, so I needed to unplug.   Yes, the problem is that the Gyroscope consumes lots of CPU, if the update interval is set to a low value.
