  I bought my Y510P reconditioned 3 months ago and it had worked very well up until recently my laptop would just turned off and would not yet initialize for a certain period of time followed with my adapter it's a "pulsed" strange noise. I tried to remove my my laptop AC adapter and pressing the power on button, but it did not work. After 1 hour later I plug back my power adapter and the noise disappeared and it may start again, but with a strange event, my computer would be a smell of burning electronic and metal from the AC charger plug.

  I'm worried if it just my adapter is faulty or would it be a problem with my AC charger plug because it's the second time he has done that.

  I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

  1. The issue has started happening recently?
  2. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?

  This problem occurs when there is that no updated drivers are there for the material. As you have tried most troubleshooting including reset, I suggest you try to install the updated for touchscreen drivers and chipset drivers and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  Uninstall and reinstall the driver for Interface devices and check the issue. 

  Follow the steps below to uninstall the drivers.

  1. Press the Windows key + X , and then select Device Manager.
  2. You can search for Devices of Interface and expand it.
  3. Right-click on the Devices of Interface and select Uninstall.
  4. Restart your computer. Windows will install the generic drives after reboot.

  Look for the question, if it persists the passage to the next method.

  Method 2:

  Uninstall and reinstall the chipset drivers and display drivers.

  Follow the steps in method 1 to uninstall display drivers and chipset drivers but it does not restart, you need to download the driver from the link below.

  As you probably know, driver VGA for this laptop is a bit outdated. I have a problem with Rage. It crashes after a few minutes of play. I guess that it also works with the only Integrated GPU because there are differences in performance between the modes 'High Performance' and 'Save energy' in the ATI drivers.

  So I decided to install the new version of Catalyst 12.6 beta which has full support for mobile and swichable graphics. Alfer, Rage finallny works like a charm - no falls down and inprovement of great performance, but the BONE started to freeze and crash. Also other games began to work more bad. On official catalyst 12.4 site AMD form is identical on 12.6 beta.

  And the strangest thing is that my friend has the Asus laptop with the same features of the CPU and GPU, and he has not had problems using the latest drivers form AMD site.

  If you have any sugestions how to solve that or what is going on, please help me

  OK, I solved the problem. Just had to uninstall Amd accelerated video transcoding device and now all works well on catalyst 12.4 in the site of AMD.

  I have a 22-inch HPL2208w monitor, which seems to play on my new laptop Dell upward. The laptop has only a HDMI port, so I connect the monitor's vga cable to the Dell via an adapter.

  The display shows for a few minutes and requires only the range (I guess resolution) be changed to 1680 x 1650. For some reason I can't change the setting of the laptop to that. When I do not change the resolution (only if the monitor is unique and not dual output) the warning message remains on the screen and the screen is not at its best (wise clarity).

  Series Dell Win 7 64 bit, but the monitor was working on my previous Dell with the same version of Windows (with a VGA connection).

• Problem with my computer laptop vaio sony windows 8

  I am facing a problem when starting my computer sony vaio notebook. My laptop is sony vaio laptop with system of operating Windows preinstalled (unilingual) 8. (I think that the boot partition is damaged at the display of the code as 0x000000)

  Recently I install ubuntu alongside windows 8 so I think it might be the problem.

  The main problem is that I can't open anything, not even command prompt options to rescan advances and rebuild boot partition and I have windows key 8 to reinstall completely since it's preinstallation with it and I have no cd/dvd recovery.

  Please help me I'm stuck.

• Problems with video streaming (laptop HP with windows 8)

  When I stream videos or watch a DVD with my HP laptop, often enough the video slows way and audio will sound very strange-sounding and the dialog box is slow and very robotic, sometimes, when this is the case I will also have a pop-up indicating that the silverlight plug in has stopped working.   Hey guys, I have a Lenovo L412, just bought two weeks, with a processor i-3 370 m. at the beginning, the laptop has been installed with W7 Pro 32 bit and speedstep worked perfectly well, where when the load is high, he would show race 2.4 MHz and so low-power about 796 MHz, it ranged from there.   Before you replaced the fan, did you get to try a BIOS reset? If this isn't the case, please put back the old fan in Notepad and try to do a reset of the BIOS with the old fan in.

  You receive errors with the old fan? What led to replace you the fan? The reason I ask is because of way General, the laptop must have some sort of indication that it starts. Even if the fan is malfunctioning. The fact that yours won't start not even for 1 second leads me to believe that the issue is not the fan.

  It would be very interesting to know how old is your laptop and the battery.
  Have you removed the battery while the laptop was used with power supply?
  As far as I know it s not optimize for the life of the battery if it is still attached to the unit. If you have used your device with the AC adapter / CC, the battery should still removed the laptop. Please read the operating instructions how to handle the battery.
