Problem with partition hard drive!

Hello
Here's my problem:
I want to partition my 250 GB HD. It has 120 GB of free and I have a 30 GB partition, normally, it does not appear to be a problem and if...

In disk management, right click on "reduce" and Windows tells me: 'space available out of = 0 MB! ....

In short, so I tried with Gparted, this nothing to do...

Make the question, you have a solution?

Thanks in advance

Hi Scoobydoos,

NOTE: PLEASE HAVE A GOOD BACKUP ON AN EXTERNAL MEDIUM BEFORE PERFORMING ANY FUNCTION INVOLVING REPARTITION YOUR HARD DRIVE

Thanks for posting answers.microsoft.com

Of the information you have provided.  Here is the configuration that I believe that you have on your PC.

  1. A 250 G hard drive
  2. A score of 30 g

If there is already more partitions on this hard drive, it is difficult to the above message.

If your current configuration is as I have suggested, then here is the procedure that you must follow to create a new partition.

Disk 0 should show as a BASIC DISK - beside the C:\ which has 30 GB should be shown - next to her is about 200 GB of unallocated space.  -However, if you have another partition besides the C:\---il comes to the partition which should be right click and SHRINKAGE of VOLUME must be selected on.  - but from the information provided, I can't confirm it's you have your system configured as.

Right-click NEW VOLUME SIMPLE-, select unallocated space, and follow the wizard to create the new Volume.

Here is a help and how article involving CAN I REPARTITION MY HARD DRIVE

http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/f2e9a502-e63c-413D-8804-87326ef4f4cc1033.mspx

If you have the other partition I speculate, this article can provide you with other options on how to partition properly.

Please post we aimed this if you want to clarify this issue, or if you have questions about the explanation.

Thank you

  • Problem with new HARD drive and Qosmio Player installation

    Hi all
I hope someone can help, I had my Qosmio for 2 1/2 years now and recently had a problem with the hard drive. I decided to replace the hard drive, because it was the fastest solution. The problem I have now is that I can't receive TV on media center. I tried to install qosmio player at the disk to see if it made any difference, but when I run the provided recovery disc software tells me that there is not enough disk space! The laptop came with a 60G hard drive and the new HARD drive manufactured by the same manufacturer is a 150 GB, can someone help me out with this would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    ED.

Have you tried to install Qosmioplayer initially, then on operating system? If I remember well, on this first portable Qosmio, it was very important to install Qosmioplayer initially.

  • Problem with connector hard drive to spring on T43 motherboard

My T43 (type 1875) cannot operator unless I am pressing on toward the down on the palm rest above the spring certainly drive connector.  This connector seems to be designed to move upwards & downwards on two positions.  44 pin hard drive seem to connect indirectly to the motherboard via 44 springs in this assembly.  This Assembly should be compressed manually for the system to communicate with the hard drive.

I do not understand the physical design of this connection?  I certainly do not understand the purpose of this complicated mechanism.  It is part of the protection of the hard drive?

To correct the problem, I see two possible solutions;  either compress the springs, then bend the stems of alignment to maintain the State of compression, which makes electrical connections or replace the motherboard.

If someone put me on how I could fix this?

Even models 15 inches and their solid upper bezel can experiencine this issue, but the models 14 inches and the palm rest of split and are the most sensitive.

The system works when you press the right ALT just below and to the right of the trackpad?

If you took the palm rest off the power, then press the plug of the battery, it restores the operating system?

If so, you may be lucky that the Council itself cannot be cracked but it could be the connectors of taking battery BIOS on the Board and in this regard a $3 repair. Cut the connector and replace with a new one or cut and reweld to ensure that the circuit is solid.

If it is cracked, you can hold with some high quality neoprene since used neoprene "shrink as styrofoam when exposed to heat and pressure. Hi all!

    * Qosmio G30-154 * (* PQG31 *).

Demo of the Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE (32 bit) installed on the primary.
    The RAID parameters are JBOD.
    BIOS is "newer" 3.90

I would try to upgrade the drives (without installing any OS) and... have a problem!

    Hello

I think that the system cannot boot to the new HARD disk as the partition where the system is installed, was not marked as bootable system partition.

I recommend to insert the previous HARD drive and to start the laptop.
HARD drive new, cloned could be connected as an external HARD drive to a USB port.

Then you should go to disk management (right click my computer - manage-> management-> disk management computer)
Here you can see the HARD internal disk and the 2nd HARD drive connected to the USB port
Right-click on the partition (2nd HARD drive) where the Win XP has been installed and choose the partition as the system partition and mark it as active.

Then you could change the HARD drive again and could power the device in place. Usually, the system should boot to the top of the new marked system partition.

  • problems with upgrade hard drive on X200s

Hi I'm trying to upgrade my old hard drive (SATA 200 GB at 7200 RPM) on my X200s (Windows XP - SP3, 3 GB of RAM) to a new hard drive: Seagate Momentus 750 GB

To do this, I created 3 partitions in my new hard drive:

    1. a 400 GB partition to recreate the existing Windows system

    2. a 25 GB recovery partition, which is preventing the drive from origin of the existing partition from rescue

    3. the rest (about 325 casuals) on a FAT32 partition empty (on which I intend to install linux or freebsd later)

Then I cloned the recovery disks and windows using Acronis and then replaced the old disk with a new one.

Finally, I see the following error message:

Playing a disc error has occurred

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

I tried to fix the master boot record using a disk objects, but the hot spare displays the blue screen of death at half way through. Put the old drive brings the system online. New drive works as well when I put in a basket USB and find in files.

So I would like to know if there is a way to step by step to diagnose the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

OK, I think I thought about her. There seems to be some kind of problem of bootloader. To fix a little:

1 make sure that you create a rescue disk before doing the clone and replace. I highly recommend the Hiren's boot disk that you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

    2. can the amorçage using this disk. From there, I see the options - Boot Windows / XP in the main hard drive (it's the first option). When I select it, I can start fine in the cloned disk.

  • Problem with large HARD drive > 2 TB

    Hi people.

I have a new server with 4.5 TB in RAID 5 and I would use it for Virtual Machines.

But whatever I do, the local data store by ESXi cannot be more than 1.41 TB (I guess 600GB's for Esxi itself).

So there is a limit of 2 TB that Esxi is only 32-bit?

I divided my raid and installed Esxi on a disc Go 700 and would like to create a different data store on 3 TB raid.

But unfortunately, if I use the data store on the first HARD drive (say 500GB) I can only create another store of data with 900 GB maximum.

VMware Infrastructure shows me that there is more space on the raid, but it is not available for partitioning, or to assigning a new data store.

A way to solve this problem?

I have 6 x 750 GB SAS and would prefer RAID 5 for all discs, resulting in 3.5 TB disc space

    VirtualUser09 wrote:

I would llike to use every bit on my local raid.

regardless of the size of the LUN, using all available space is not a good idea.  You must leave a free space (15-20%).

  • Problem with external hard drive (an unexpected error - 50)

I've had this problem for a few months now. Sometimes, I can't delete a file from my external hard drive, or export a file to it. The process is impossible, and I get a message "Cannot perform the action due to an unexpected error - 50". Ejecting the disc gives the message "eject impossible because another program can use it." Ejection force becomes the only option. After re-login, the problem goes away, like nothing ever happened.

The question is not constant, but quite common to become a nuisance, the one I want stopped.

That's what I think it is (a bad connection with the cable, defective contact), or is this a virus? I need to know.

The hard drive is 1 TB Toshiba Canvio Basics and is formatted as Mac OS extended (Journalized).

not a virus, and not only because there is no virus mac at this time.

negative errors on the discs can be a signal indicating that the file is corrupted or worse still, the drive is failing. While it can also be a problem with the cable or the connector that it commonly goes back on the disc itself.

Currently, it is recommended that you backup your data if a backup fails, you may need to save what you can manually and sometimes that means go to this folder by folder or file by file

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support

All HARD drives (and SSD') eventually fail and while this isn't a your statement you should check the drive with disk utility (Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) after you got what you possibly can off and consider replacing the disk with a new one.

You have a spare TWO HUNDRED eighty THREE GB unallocated at the end of the training. This is the rest of the space.

    Hello

I got my Satellite A200 (PSAE6E) for many years, and although I was interested for her order to to finally make the hard drive gives its first signs of failure. The symptoms started coming a few months ago. The disc will stop working, the system hangs, and I begin to hear a clicking sound from the disc. I'm afraid that one day it will stop working completely, and I can't afford without a laptop.

I would replace it for a new hard drive, or one that is in good condition, but I'm having a hard time finding information on hard drives compatible with this model. Could someone help me with this?

    Thank you

What you can do is to remove the original HARD drive and order the same.
What you really need, it's SATA HDD and you can get it in every electronic or PC Magazine. I assume the original HARD drive was about 200 GB. What you can do now is to buy a new one with more capacity.

Either way, what operating system are you using? I mean Win7 works perfectly on this old piece of hardware.
