  I usually run Firefox (3.6), but also have the same problem with Safari (4.0.4).  After recently updated Flash Player, Shockwave, Flip4Mac and Java in Firefox, on some websites, the image opens, I see the gray circular loading animation and then... nothing.  Just a white box. Cannot access controls and right click brings up a menu that includes: 'Settings' and 'on Flash Player 10 ".

  I deleted and reinstalled the Flash player and Shockwave several times, but no resolution.  I tried to reload the latest version of Firefox, but who have done nothing either.  I got in touch with Adobe, which replied that everything they do is supported installation/uninstallation - and then directed me to a procedure for Internet Explorer!  (That said, a second request referred me here, so maybe not a total waste of time!)  I'm not a programmer, just a moderately sophisticated user, then you are my last, best hope!  Thanks in advance...

  Here's some of the info I sent Adobe:

  Control-click and selecting "about Flash player 10' poster version # 10,0,45,2 (even though it says 45.0 on page FF control plug-in). Click settings to display the Adobe Flash Player settings: display/activate the acceleration hardware checkbox (checked). You cannot uncheck the box here. I did go to the flash site and try to see if changing any of the settings may help, but it did not.

  It started to happen after I installed the latest version of the Flash Player and Shockwave. It happens in Safari and FF (my main browser).

  I uninstalled and reinstalled, flash, shockwave and flip4mac several times. The two seem to work when you go to the appropriate page on adobe.com. Java also seems to work (according to the Java test page).

• Install issues with PSE8 for Mac...

  I bought and downloaded from the Elements 8 for Mac yesterday - no problem with the download.  When I go to Setup/install the software, however, I get a "Installer alert" blank screen - no click or rectify (AFAIK).  I've seen other threads here, but I don't seem to have these questions (although I'm not the most tech savvy, I admit).  Here's my info:

  OS Tiger 10.4.1 (not upgraded to Snow Leopard)

  Intel processor

  Any ideas on how to move beyond the alert "Installer"?

  Try to create a new administrative user (system prefs > user accounts) and running the installation from there.

• PSE8 for Mac: convert to DNG in Bridge Photo Downloader fails

  Using PSE8 for Mac.  When I get RAW Bridge photos and specify "Convert to DNG" in the advanced options of the Photo Downloader, download the RAW files, but converted to the DNG format for each image.  I can convert successfully using the standalone DNG Converter, but I would use the option in the Photo Downloader that comes with the deck.  I am in contact with Adobe Support on it but not having not much of chance.  If anyone has had this problem or knows what to do?

  Also, I don't see RAW the Downloader in bridge or photos images.  They appear the blue squares with a graph of flower on them in the Downloader, as well as white squares in Bridge.  I can only see the pictures once I open the items.  Is this normal?

  It is the source of your problem. You must update the raw converter in bridge, which comes with a very old version (5.0). In bridge, go to help > updates and let it do its thing.

Healthcare gov support only suggested to disable the pop-up blocker. I did, and I couldn't always open the file. No problem on a desktop computer regardless of the browser.

  In my view, they spend on their web server to a document ECM server authentication. Someone else has the problem?

  I tried the Penguin, Chrome and Atomic browsers on the ipad and the same issue.

  Okay, actually, I think that there is a problem with the type of form. It is a form of a special kind (called a form XFA or Designer, for what it's worth), which can be opened with Adobe Reader and only on Mac or Windows. There is no iPad software that can read these.

• problems with updates for Windows (for Win XP)

  I have problems with Windows (for Win XP) updates...
  (1) I installed the hardware updates for my sound card (via Windows update) and now I can't hear the music through my speakers or headphones.  In addition, related to my sound card software do not work either!
  (2) at the same time, I tried to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 through Windows Update and that would not install (.. .and I tried several times).

  So to rememdy those issues, I tried for hours to use the system restore, but whenever I've tried I'm not able to successfully restore and I tried several unique restore points.
  Any suggestions?  I spent hours on it, and nothing seems to help!

• Sync memo/Notes with BDS for MAC-blackBerry Smartphones

  I'm having a problem with my notes/memos with MAC BDS synchronization.   Some of the old memos that had been deleted before appear on BB memos (and not on the notes to MAC) after a sync.   I re - removes unwanted on BB memo, sync and everything seems good (the meaing notes on MAC and memos on BB are synchronized correctly) overnight where synchronisation would bring back the old memos on the BB again.

  The issue I had with my old Bold 9700 (OS6) and the new Bold 9900 (OS7).

  I suggest go to device > forget device in BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Try to shut down BlackBerry Desktop software and re - open and connect via the USB port and configure the synchronization again and test it a few times to make sure it's working properly.

  Is there a Mac link on the next page.  You should be able to download the demo version of the software and then use your current serial number to activate it.

  Two of my students (Digital Publishing to SintLucas Eindhoven, Netherlands) have problems with their inlays of Folio and Folio Builder. They work on Mac OS 10.8.2 and Folio overlay Panel is there, but it simply doesn't work.

  In the Folio Builder, there is a message "you don't have a plug-in edition compatible digital camera" with a download link. They have downloaded an installed this and the Application Manager says that everything is up-to-date, but the Folio overlays Panel still does not work and Folio Builder has always the same message.

  I run into some strange problems with a script in which Mac another user stops on a line nothing stores more than one State of history to the variable "actHist" while PC to run the script very well.  We will test the script one Mac to another later today, but I was wondering if there are any known issues with running scripts in Java on Mac vs PC database?  Here is a screenshot of the problem:

  

  I can't understand WHY it stops on this area.  I tried of asigning the variable outside of the cause of the else statement that I was out of ideas, but it's the same no matter where I declare it.  The odd part is, that the same line is used elsewhere in the script without problems, it doesn't seem to work in the same place on a Mac (PC has no problems with it).  No idea why this is only a problem for the Mac and not any PC?

  Tom's right. It is a known problem and Adobe has been alerted to this topic. This error can also occur when you try to access the activeLayer of a document.

  I used this code for embarrassing lines like this and it worked for me:
