Problem with reinstalling/upgrading Vista SP2.

On the initial installation attempt, I was prompted to uninstall PowerShell. I removed the PowerShell in the list of updates (KB928439) according to the instructions provided by Microsoft. About 2 minutes after installation, he continues to ask me to uninstall PowerShell. Suggestions... Please!

    Hello

    For your #1 question:

Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > Task Scheduler

Look for the tasks listed on HP., if you see them you can delete them or distributes them to run once. Who should take care of the problem

    For your question #2:

There are a few services that are needed for starting windows update to work correctly. (these are services that depend on it).

Take a read of this thread (found on another forum). BlackViper.com, there a nice breakdown of the Windows Vista SP2 service configurations.

I don't know about other issues. There are always 'problems' with any upgrade. You weigh against the benefits. I know that you need more RAM. At least 4 GB, maybe more if you can. Don't forget that this system is produced at a time when most of the machines have + 8 GB RAM and when Apple said 'minimum' they really mean it.  I recently inherited a MacBook that has 2 GB of RAM and the Mavericks. When I checked the memory, the use of the system was using 1.95 GB = nothing to run applications!

  • HP pavilion dv6-2150us: problems with the upgrade of processor for an i7-720qm on a hp pavilion dv6-2150us

    Hi all

My friend recently bought an i7-720qm processor used to upgrade hp pavilion dv6 2 1 5 0 US and I

summer giving a helping hand by making the upgrade.

Since the 10 Windows running Google Chrome used up to 70% of the processing of an i3 - 330 m power

processor, it seemed to be good upgrade to improve the performance of the laptop.

We checked that the new i7 processor is compatible with the laptop (it is listed as supported by the)

( interview guide , page 108), and the seller assured us he tested the CPU on some different

HP pavilion and it worked fine.

But when I replaced the processor with the i7 processor i3 and tried to boot up the laptop, only the LED lights

on the front and the setting of the power and volume buttons would light up periodically. The screen was black

    All the time.

Thinking I might have made a mistake during the reassembly of the laptop I put the original i3 processor back in

    and it starts fine.

I updated the BIOS of the F.1C version I found on the internet and once replaced the i3 with the i7 with the

same results - display off, flashes periodically LEDs. The BIOS updated smoothly, and the correct version is displayed in the main menu of the BIOS.

I am confused on what could be the problem with the upgrade, everything should work. Is there a BIOS update I have

    missed, or the problem elsewhere?

Disassembly and reassembly are made with care, and we took care to avoid static electricity. All the rest

on the laptop works well - I am writing this post on the laptop in question with the original i3 processor in place.

Any help, advice or general guidelines as to what should be done would be really appreciated.

    Thank you for your attention.

In other words, you cannot install a quad core processor in a Board that originally had a dual core processor and vice versa.

  • Problems with XP upgrade

System: XP Pro, SP2. Dreamweaver 8 with no extension enabled, update is in progress, it is legal and registered.
I bought the upgrade for CS3. Downloaded the upgrade file. Turn off other programs including antivirus.
He has unpacked, I selected for execution. It seemed that he was doing something. No error message.
    I restarted my pc.
Results: No CS3 on all menus, DW8 is always DW8. I checked the Control Panel Add/Remove and CS3 is part of the list. I clicked on change/remove, and it just hangs.
I've never had as much wrong with any upgrade for all software before. What is the trick? Why Adobe don't instructions? You would think for $200, I would not spend the hours to do the job.
If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it because I'm at my end. I'll re-download the file and try again, but I am not optimistic.
I searched the site of Adobe and google and found only Vista issues, not XP.
Thanks to all those who can help you.

Follow-up: The CS3Clean utility does NOT solve the problem. He allowed the installation failed, but it has not solved the problem. I called the Support but nobody with Dreamweaver was available. I was told to look for Technical Notes, what I had done. I couldn't find a technical Note that put an end to the problem. The person sought technical Notes and sent me that I had not found through research. It was kb402048 "Creative Suite 3 and point product CS3 installer silently quits (Windows XP and Vista)."
Here is a list of Solution-6 which has had a lot of time to spend. The last Solution worked, but only after to add a little. The solution is IE: disable all addons and Reset Web. And you have to restart IE, (it is perhaps obvious to some, but it is not in the manual and who may have missed). Other options included the creation of a new user account admin and using Selective startup (which I had already done).

  • Problem with Windows7 upgrade - Satellite A500

I bought a portable Satellite A500 with Vista 32 bit Home Premium.
It came with an upgrade to Windows 7, which I completed the process of installation/uninstallation of upgrade Vista Home Premium 32 bit for Windows 7 32 bit on the Toshiba site, before the beginning of the DVD of windows 7 installation process.

After restarting my computer in step 6, I have a message "new hardware found - base system device" I tried to search c: and I tried the Windows 7 DVD for the specific file searching and can't locate it.

The installation/uninstallation deleted the drivers to connect to the internet.

Can't seem to start installing Windows 7 from the DVD.

    Help, please.

    Hello

    Windows 7 ask the driver!
It s not installed on the C or the DVD of Win 7.

I assume that you have improved the Vista to Win 7 and installed not cleaning.
I recommend a clean installation, because Windows 7 would reinstall and will not use the applications that were pre-installed on Vista.
In many cases these apps are not entirely compatible with Win 7.

After the clean install of Windows 7, you could install Windows 7 drivers you will find on the pages of Toshiba.

But Win 7 drivers are not published on Toshiba page European right now
If you could use a Toshiba page us to get drivers or should check the European page later

I read a lot of discussion about it and I decide to yestarday to roll back to Windows 7 in order to do a clean update by ISO and unisntall VPN. I read that Cisco VPN Client is the problem when upgrading to W10... but I'm not sure I have the Cisco Client in my notebook.
You help me find a software which VPN I have in my book?
I run Microsoft Fixit and found out that I have:
    Cisco PEAP
    Cisco LEAP
    Cisco EAP-FAST

Is this software VPN? Or not?

After having updated Broadcom driver on Windows 10 WiFi worked well, but I still had an error message ' Broadcom 802.11 network adapter wi - fi doesn't work "whenever I turned on the laptop.

With regard to programs of Cisco that you listed, @SpiritX on the Microsoft Forums ( http://ow.ly/DAhQ301hCFt ) well answer your question about Cisco programs you listed.  I know that you are not running Windows Vista, but the answer is always valid for you.

  • What can I reinstall/upgrade Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit using the upgrade CD that I bought?

Please help me with the steps I must follow to upgrade/reinstall my Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  I bought the upgrade CD, but I keep reading that I can't upgrade, I have to re - install.  How do, or have I just wasted my money?

    Thank you

    David

The two DVD come in the box of Vista Ultimate.  The same upgrade key works for both.  The procedure is to let the 32-bit version on the hard drive for the verification of license and a custom installation will work.  The hardware hash will be the same and the product key is the same for the activation servers to happen anyway as a repair installation.

  • Problems of network and Vista SP2

I read a lot of discussion and of internet articles explaining the problems with Vista SP2 update. I have 3 PC / laptop on my home network. A PC with Vista SP2 (cable), a Sony notebook (wireless) with Vista SP1 and a portable IBM (wired) with XP Pro SP3.

The SP2 from Vista PC has several symptoms, all pointing to a single cause. I've updated to IE8 at the same time, but also have a problem with Firefox. Subsequently, but with repeated reboot iTunes downloads. Copies of files network NAS also experience time-out issues. Even ping the IP of the gateway translates to periodic messages out "request timed." This highlights a problem with the network or the IP stack drivers.

I checked that I use the last available network driver. I also disabled IPv6. No change.
Occaisionaly than other experiences of the peripheral issues (laptop computer IBM and Sony), but these were resolved only after the Netgear gateway is restarted.

The network has operated in this configuration for several months without errors. The Netgear gateway running the latest firmware. No suggestions have led or has proposed a solution.

You go to the site of the manufacturer of the device and look for the latest driver? As Realtek, IDT, or that which
Do such unit as listed in the manufacturer of the device. Often the real device manufacturer will have newer drivers

  • Problem with running on vista

If switched on, the system gets it as long as displaying the windows logo and then the screen turns white. nothing zero zip. I tried to reboot in safe mode, system recovery, always without success. Any ideas?

If the info below do not resolve the problem, you can have hardware failure, as you say that you can not access System Recovery.
If nothing changes, contact the manufacturer.

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
