Problem with the new printer print only some word from the quarterdeck documents

I hope someone can help. I have a Dell Vostro and had 8 happy years print on a Canon printer. I just upgraded to a Canon Pixma iP4600 printer. I think that with some (not all) MS word documents it prints the rear tray (mean't for photo paper) by opposition to the tape before (designated for plain paper), for which I set the properties of the printer.

Canon tech support say there is a Windows problem. I already reinstalled the printer driver but sill the same problem. Hope someone can advise.
Happy Days!
Bryan

Hello

This phenomenon only occurs with word documents?
Have you checked if this happens with any other application?

As you have already defined the properties of the printer and the problem is only with a few word documents. The first step would be to check if the word printing settings are defined in law.
To fix printing on word problems, see the steps mentioned in this link:
http://Office.Microsoft.com/en-us/Word/HP051887411033.aspx

Sometimes this also happens if the printer settings are ignored when you print a Word document. To check if these settings are correct, try the steps mentioned in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904805

If you still find difficulties in printing, run the Microsoft Fix it to reset the settings: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-printer-problems

Post back with the results, so that we can help you better.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

  • Problems with the function document XSL Transformation on OSB

I'm trying to use the xsl document feature in my XSLT file to perform a transformation on the Bus of Service Oracle (version 11.1.1.4), but I see the following error message when you run the sbconsole test (just to test the transformation currently).

Execution of the XSLT error: com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.TransletException: com.sun.org.apache.xml.internal.utils.WrappedRuntimeException: Validation of XSLT Project1/xslt/iso-3-to-iso-2-lookup.xml: XSLT Project1/xslt/iso-3-to-iso-2-lookup.xml does not exist has failed

The error indicates the file XML I'm referencing from the XSLT that does not exist in the specified folder, I confirmed that the file exists and we tried to move to other places and chaning the location of reference in the XSLT, but the error persists (with location of update). Anyone know if the XSL document function is supported for the transformations on the OSB or if there is something special that needs to be done so that the OSB can refer to the XML file properly?

Here is the code snippet of the xslt file that launches a call using the XML file:
    ...
    < xsl: output method = "xml" encoding = "UTF-8" Indent = "Yes" omit-xml-declaration = "yes" / >
    "< xsl: Key name="ISO-3-to-ISO-2-lookup ' match = 'country' use = "iso3" / >
    "< xsl: variable name="ISO-3-to-ISO-2-Lookup "select ="document('iso-3-to-iso-2-lookup.xml')/ISO-pays"/ >
    < xsl: template match = "/ xx - xxxx:SyncSearchRequest" >
    < ns0:Search >
    ...

Here is an extract from the XML file that I use as the lookup table:
    ...
    ? XML version = "1.0"? >
    < ISO-country >
    AF < country > < iso2 > < / iso2 > < AFG iso3 > < / iso3 > < / country >
    < country > < iso2 > AX < / iso2 > < ALA iso3 > < / iso3 > < / country >
    < country > < iso2 > AL < / iso2 > < ALB iso3 > < / iso3 > < / country >
    ...

    Thanks for any help.

In OSB, document() function needs the path absolute XML file. So if you want to access the XML document for the search, you should place the XML file on the server itself and use the path of the XML file.

Although it is not a good approach for the management of the OSB research. The type of Document XML resource must not be used for these use cases. What you can do is create an XQuery query that can server as a DVM.
Here is an example on how to use DVMs in OSB:
    https://blogs.Oracle.com/christomkins/entry/domain_value_maps_in_oracle_se

If you do not want to use XQuery and want to rely only on XSLT, then in the same document XSLT to create a separate model that can store all the data of research.

  • Could get a new router block printing? We had a lot of problems with the computer in the last week and a half. Bought new router and now the printer does not print. :-(

    (1) we went to DirecTV. Then the same day, our internet computer is down. I asked our current provider, Suddenlink, to let them know we had them to another - but we wanted to keep for the internet.

    (2) called DirecTV to investigate why our internet went down at the same time they installed? They said that they did nothing to cause that. We waited 5 days to make out and also install the third TV that was promised. The second tech gave things a lookover and said, once again, that there is nothing unusual during their passage to cause the problem.

    (3) called Suddenlink. They said it was the router. Called the people of Netgear. They said that the router was too old. We needed to pay an exorbitant sum for support and when I told him I'd rather just buy a new router and get free technical support for 90 days... and I personally do not have the credit cards in that time. (it's my mother s equip and I wonder it for the computer) when the guy told me that he could help and hung up on us, even though I was pleading for him to wait until I put my mother on the phone. (I'm in my 40s... not a kid).

    (4) Suddenlink called a few days later, when we got a new router (netgear brand NO!) Installed and I noticed that the 'ready' light was not 'on' on the modem. Their technology has said that he would check and call us in a few minutes. He did not.

    (5) the next day I called Suddenlink AGAIN. This time, I got a really nice customer service agent. She said she would send someone to check on it. It turns out that they had disconnected when I had called to pass only the TV.

    (6) in any case, we are finally online... only now... I can't the printer to work. :-(  This has worked before.  Could it be caused by the different router? I don't know about these things. I didn't even know what it was until someone at Radio Shack has explained to me. (I was not about to buy one at Wal-Mart - these poor people). The printer is a Canon Pixma MX340. We love him. The only thing is that it is difficult to clear the tasks or to reset. The only way to really do that is to simply pull the plug, unfortunately and restart the computer. But hey, it's a great printer, better than HP.

We are under vista. The router is a Linksys wifi (which we have) N300 model E900.

Of course I appreciate any help you can give. God bless you!

    Michelle and Ruth.

We have replaced the cartridges (with HP) and now we can print only about 1/2 a page, sometimes 1 page-, then it displays an error, "There is a problem with the printer or the ink system" and the printer should be set and to continue...

We bought new (2nd series) of the ink cartridges and the same behavior exists.

It seems to point to a new print head - but those who are more expensive than a new printer.

Are there other measures I could take to try to resovle?

I can't find scraps of paper (ie: torn, jam, etc.), nor any excessive ink any where - everything seems pretty clean.

I removed the print head and cleaned the contacts.  I cleaned the contacts on the ink cartridges. I ran "Clean print head" in the Tools menu (which results in the same error)

There are sometimes up to 3 of these messages "stacked."

It is died regardless of what was asked of it... ie: print from netowrk, printing via usb, copy color, copy b & w, etc..

    Hello @jassing,

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

I understand that you are experiencing a recurring error state in your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer.  I want to help you with this.  While it is clear that you have tried most of the recommended troubleshooting steps, I have some additional suggestions that might help.

HP article presents common troubleshooting steps in order.  You can give these another shot before trying the more intensive step that I have in mind.

If you have tried all of the above and your problem persists, click here to check the status of your printer warranty.  If your printer is currently under warranty, please call our technical support in 800-474-6836. • Problem with the conditional tags in printed output

I write help files for different versions of our software - version 4 and 5 using Robohelp for HTML 5.0.2

There is a large overlap of information between the two, so I use a help file joint with marked topics that are specific to version 4 or version 5.

I went out and then use with 'NOT v4' or "NOT v5" as the conditional tags.

It works fine in the HTML output. However, I encountered problems with the printed output.

Ideally, I want the help file using the option "generate the single document" because it means that the document produced, without the single output field. However, when I do, the tags conditional build fail and I get a piecemeal result.

If I generate the document by using the option 'generate individual documents' tags conditional build work, but I get the only field I want to avoid.

Does anyone know how to get the conditional tags to work when the option "generate the single document" is selected?

Pierre and HKabaker - thanks for your comments.

I think I have the answer now.

In the properties for the SSL Print dialog, the third screen is the dialogue of section layout. I had removed some sections in the right pane (for example, the default title page, glossary, and index) because I did not want them to appear in the final printed output. It seems that without these sections present conditional compilation tags do not work correctly when the document is released by using the option 'generate a single document ".

I started again with a "blank" printing of SSL version. Conditional constructions using the "generate a single document" appear to work fine when I leave the dialog layout intact section.

I can even do the conditional tags build an injustice because the option "generate a single document" (after that I made the changes in the dialog layout section) seems to be that some of the chapters in the table of contents and omitting others.

Turn the printer off, then on. If the problem persists, contact HP. It gives me as two solutions. Solution 1: Reset the product. Turn the product off, and then unplug the power cord. Plug in the power cord and then press the key to activate the product. I've done this three times. Hey @popcorn101,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you get the error "printer failure: there is a problem with the printer or ink system' on the front panel of your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer.". Thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you received before reaching out for support, including. Right now, you have completed all the troubleshooting steps available in your efforts to solve this error in accordance with the document of support here. The failure itself is probably due to a failure of the print head. The print head is the part that the cartridges will fit. It controls the "reading" of the cartridges and put the ink on the page. If the print head does not, then the printing within your product system has failed. In this model of printer print head is a non-replaceable. Therefore, the resolution is a replacement of the entire unit.

I highly recommend at this stage that you contact our Technical Support telephone queue for discover hardware replacement options.

HP technical support are available by clicking on the following link:

    Contact HP support

    (1) once the page opens, please select the country in which you are located. Then, enter your HP model number on the right.

    (3) Once finished, click on the 'Show the Options' icon in the lower right.

  • OfficeJet 6600 - reports HP Connect "problem with the printer.

I just bought an all-in-one OfficeJet 6600 and immediately installed on my MacBook Pro. Installation went smoothly, and I used it for scanning and printing. I am very happy. However, I noticed that HP Connect reports "Issue with printer." Well, it worked fine, so I ignored the error and continued to work.

Tonight, I have installed the printer on a Windows 7 laptop. At HP Connect, it is always now reports "Problem with printer." That's it - no further details and no symptoms of any kind of problem. How to diagnose the 'problem' and how to fix it?

Hi there, I know this may seem illogical, but I wouldn't worry too much about the problem with the printer State message in connected HP. I saw myself sometimes, and I was able to print successfully from a mobile device to the printer which connected HP indicated that there is a problem. Have you tried to send a job by using either the application mobile ePrint or to the e-mail address of printers for the printer in question?

On the Windows 7 machine, you can also download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor to confirm there is no problem with the connection to the computer on which is installed the software of the printer or the printer hardware. Be aware, however, that the application is compatible with the Windows operating system only, so you cannot run it on the Mac computer, but unless you are having problems printing from Mac to the printer, there is no reason to suspect that anything is wrong.

Hope that makes sense, but post comes back with other questions.

    Best.

A Windows Vista 64 Bit operating system is compatible in installation of 32-bit drivers. All the 64-bit version operating systems have the ability to run 32-bit applications, but on a version 32-bit operating system, you are limited to only 32-bit software.
