Problems of partition on m380n

I managed to install a clean XP on my computer but when I looked in disk management, I saw that there are 3 partitions with two of them being unallocated. I installed Partition Magic 7 and when I tried to merge the computer restarts to a black screen with a prompt back. I had to reinstall XP again and it is up to and works, but it seems to be no way to get rid of these additional partitions or their merger in the drive C. I have a screenshot of PM list the partitions of the disk but do not know how to post it here.

Even when I was installing a XP minimum when it came time to choose or to delete a partition, I've highlighted the unallocated partition and click 'L' but he would'nt anything.

Boost wrote: the computer works now but now it has 3 options of operating system when you start it. It has 2 selections of XP Home and XP Pro 1. Seems every time I have reinstall XP after a format using the XP Setup disk it says another. I will just go edit the boot.ini file and forget it.

Hello thumb, this is perhaps the quickest and best way to get around this 'error '.

If you don't know what should look like the boot.ini, here is a link to Microsoft which shows how to edit the boot.ini file, or for others who may have need to do.

The link of Microsoft shows Windows XP Professional as a Windows operating system, but if you have just the standard Windows XP Edition family, you can simply remove the word professional from the boot.ini file.

    Hi Scoobydoos,

NOTE: PLEASE HAVE A GOOD BACKUP ON AN EXTERNAL MEDIUM BEFORE PERFORMING ANY FUNCTION INVOLVING REPARTITION YOUR HARD DRIVE

    Thanks for posting answers.microsoft.com

Of the information you have provided.  Here is the configuration that I believe that you have on your PC.

    1. A 250 G hard drive
    2. A score of 30 g

If there is already more partitions on this hard drive, it is difficult to the above message.

If your current configuration is as I have suggested, then here is the procedure that you must follow to create a new partition.

Disk 0 should show as a BASIC DISK - beside the C:\ which has 30 GB should be shown - next to her is about 200 GB of unallocated space.  -However, if you have another partition besides the C:\---il comes to the partition which should be right click and SHRINKAGE of VOLUME must be selected on.  - but from the information provided, I can't confirm it's you have your system configured as.

Right-click NEW VOLUME SIMPLE-, select unallocated space, and follow the wizard to create the new Volume.

  • problem with partition of hard drive recovery

    Hello, e

I use a notebook hp Pavilion with windows 8 inside g6.

I am not able to use the recovery partition to restore my laptop. whenever I try the Recovery Manager using recovery hp or f11 boot option, it shows the requested media is missing. Help, please.

    Hello

    There are two options.

    1. you can order a replacement set of recovery discs from the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

2 your laptop was initially provided with Windows 8, the activation key is stored in the chip of the Bios, so you could create your own OEM of Windows 8 installation disc.

For more information about how to do this, see the post Hüffer 3rd on the following link.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 Professional. Problems with partitions.

I have a problem installing WIN 7 Pro, I think that I managed to install a re - install Win 7 ultimate disc that came with my DELL laptop. As the disc, I guess that for a single use, something happened to prevent its use. Unfortunately I cannot start my new Zoostorm ACPI x 64-based PC successfully because windows will in the repair attempt, but can not correct now.
When I load the new Windows 7 pro, I get that, where you want to install windows, where

The detail shows: Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed on a partition formatted in NTFS.  Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The partition is a partition of EFI (ESP) system.

If you have any ideas on this one I would be most grateful. Best regards Steve

Yes, you must delete all partitions, this will ensure that you will be able to start a clean slate with Windows 7 Professional.

  • problems with partitions - help please. [Hp dv6 2135sl]

Hi all! So, I'm first of all I apologize for my English Italian.
I bought a laptop HP dv6 2135sl with Windows 7 and I have a problem with the partitions.

The partitions are all primary and the order is the sequent:
    C (450 F)
    tool HP (99MB)
    recovery (16GB)
    Sistem (199 MB)

I would decrease C up to 50 GB and create two other partitions: J (programs 150 GB) and K (250GB of data). Is this possible? I realized that I have to change one of the 4 partitions in scope. What is the best? (Partition Wizard report an error: "no free slots of MBR"). Can I still use PM or I need something else?

PS: Cannot use Acronis (not supprt W7) and if it's possible I won't use Gparted because I'm a noob; )

    Thank you all!

    I found a solution:

I used the tool of W7 to handle the drive. I have create a 270 GB partition (the maximum allowed this program), then the disk was converted from basic in dinamic one disk. I opened the Partition Wizard, I turned the disc in the base. As if by magic, I found recovery logical (previously primary). Now I am able to create the partition n!

  • Reproduces the problem of partitioning

    Hi guys,.

I work with partitioning replicated and I have a very strange problem.

When I run the maxl script, below, I eventually find an orphaned partition

    / * Connect to the essbase server * /.

    Login username password on < essbaseserver >;

/ * Create or replace the Partition for the specified area * /.

create or replace the replicated partition 'ABC'.' ABC' zone "< area to the source member >.

for XYZ. XYZ as < user name > identified by < password >

«< target zone members >» area

mapped globally (< source > member) to the (< target member >)

    Update permit;

But when I pass the script below, the partition is normally created

    / * Connection * /.

    login username password on " " http:// < easserver >: 19000/aps/Essbase? NOMCLUSTER = EssbaseCluster-1 "; "

/ * Create or replace the Partition for the specified area * /.

create or replace the replicated partition 'ABC'.' ABC' zone "< area to the source member >.

for XYZ. XYZ as username identified by password

«< target zone members >» area

mapped globally (< source > member) to the (< target member >)

    Update permit;

The problem is that I need to use essbase sever and not easserver. What is the cause of this and is there a way to fix this? @

Adding entries to host files is a quick fix and I would usually recommend it as if change of IP addresses, then problems may arise, personally, I would update the ODI packet to take the road of cluster that she practices probably better, it could still be done with variables.

    The choice is really yours.

    See you soon

  • Problem with partition

    Hello

    I use Essbase 11.1.2.1

I have a partition replicated between two databases.

Some accounts are not replicated to the target

I'm trying to find out what are the differences between each of them and I see that those who are not sent to the target, are dynamic calc with store only one child.

Could this be the problem? I have Yes, why? Otherwise, any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Fanny

Try the single children wiith the storage property "never share" marking and see if that makes a difference. You could start with one.

  • Problems with Partitions

Hello. I am trying to download an update for a program that I use frequently. The program can run only on a sensitive file system without respect, so it does not work on my main partition. I partitioned a second disc which is not case sensitive so I could download it. This partition is now saturated. I tried more space partitioning but disk utility says "this partition is not modifiable.". Here is a screenshot of disk utility. What can I do to get more space for my second partition? I tried to make a third partition, which was case-insensitive as well to try to merge together, but disk utility says "this partition is not modifiable." Help, please?

Copy the data from Macintosh HD 2 on an external drive. Delete the Macintosh HD 2 partition, and then create a new partition to fill the space. Copy the data to the new partition.

This 3rd party software can help as it is reported to be more flexible than the disk utility.

  • Problem Re-partitioning drive of Fusion after deleting Windows

    Hello

So last night I decided I wanted to do a clean install of El Capitan on my computer. I have two partitions, one of El Capitan and a Windows. Stupidly I didn't read upward how to uninstall properly the Windows partition (using the BootCamp assistant), instead I reformatted BOTH of the partitions on the disk utility, when do the clean install of El Capitan thought, I just re-partition with disk utility, which did not work.

I then opened assistant BootCamp and tried to do it properly and received this message:

The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.

The startup disk must be formatted in a single volume in Mac OS extended (journaled) or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows.

Now, both partitions are formatted as Mac OS journaled readers.

I'm a bit of a loss what to do, thank you for all of the solutions I hope you might have.

First of all, you have a Fusion drive? If so, is a part of the score of the merger and the other outside the merger?

You try to do just a Fusion Drive partition?

My antivirus didn't allow me to watch your stuff, but it's not serious anyway.

Historically, the letters A and B have been used on floppy drive and even if your system will not a floppy drive, were you to connect a USB floppy drive, it would be given the letter A, and if you've connected a second floppy USB drive, it would give the letter B.

What you have done is made any unauthorized changes to your system, that is, there is no easy way to undo what you have done.

You must backup your important data on external media, a DVD, thumbdrive or harddrive and then perform a destructive restore from the recovery partition.

The best for a good computing experience is the rule: don't mess with the system

Your computer is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

  • problems of partition of Windows 7 e9270f

I thought it should be a simple task to partition the hard drive (1 TB) into 4 roughly equal partitions (including the operating system) with the version of HP's Windows 7, 64-bit installed. It is not the case. If you want to do something like that, don't forget to do your own system restore disks first. I don't have and restore disks that HP sent never worked. It seems that there is some sort of Gummy deposit on the disks. There may be another series coming from customer support, but I can't wait any longer. I've now ordered a Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade disc with the thought of separation somewhere during the installation.

Why Microsoft has something as fundamental as the so hostile user of disk partitioning?

If anyone has any suggestions on this, I'm listening. Thank you!

EB, here is a good FREE partition manager that will work with Win7.  Give it a try to see if it will work for you.

  • Problems of partition with the Vostro 1700

Just acquired a new Vostro, Vista, with a single 320 GB hard drive that I want to divide it into 2 or 3 different partitions. Out of the box, it has a few left starnge on it as follows:

    1. 120 MB primary partion with DEll on this (Fat32) utility
2 main partition of 10 GB NTFS labeled as recovery
    3. main C drive primary NTFS (285 GB)
    4. a small 2.4 (logic) GB unformatted without label partition?

When I go to try and partion my main partition of C I get the message "failed to create a new partition on this disk haed. Most likely, all the primary slots are busy and there is no extended partition. "

So the obvious questions are how the hell to create a partion extended into this mess and what is the 2.4 GB seemingly useless the logical disk not formatted for?

Either by the way, I use Partition Commander V10.1 of VCOM to make partitioning. Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thank you

She gave free space for this player and when I allocated space for a player, it was empty, but later I was positive to bring the data back with 80% recovery software...

Now, yesterday happened the same thing and this time the software recovery isn't yet able to return data only 10% data are back and even some files of them are corrupted...

can we know what is the reason to go by car?

    Hello

To be honest I have never heard of this show something like that's never happened to me and I didn t read all other threads like this.

Usually the partition should not be affected by installed applications.
In my opinion, this issue may be related to a HARD disk problem
The partition was perhaps not created correctly partition table has been damage.

However, I think you need to format the HARD drive again and it must recover in order to recreate the partitions.
Maybe this could helps avoid the problems of the others.
