Problems of system recovery. Vista.

I recently had to undergo some automatic updates, so that was the process that I turned off my computer the plug. I turned it back and he asked me to start windows normally or start the restore of the system which is recommended. After I did all of my files were gone, the system restore was the packard bell recovery management application. He says would be transferred my c:/backup files but I can't find it, please help me because I had a load of files that were important to me, I want to know how and if I can recover my missing files, thank you.

As was the Packard Bell recovery process, you will need to contact them.

This isn't their recovery process, Microsoft.

  • Recovery Vista professional system problems

I ran the system recovery on the computer with the disc and inadvertently added the operating system on Recovery D drive and cannot be removed.  I tried to run the recovery again and now operating system is in the two discs and defaults to D drive when you restart the system.  When the black screen appears, I select the C drive and it opens but I am having problems and getting errors that there is not enough space to run programs.  I tried to delete recovery, but it won't let me format or delete the files in D.  Does anyone have a solution to this problem.  I'm totally stumped.

    Hello

You don't say what disk you used to do the reinstall.

D: partition recovery doesn't have enough room to add a relocation to the recovery of already existing files, so it appears that you have crushed the recovery with the reinstall new partition.

    To reinstall it again.

  • System Recovery Options - no operating system listed, need to load the drivers, but don't know where to find this (Windows Vista 64-bit)

It is a gateway M6866 laptop running Windows Vista 64-bit.

The computer does not start up--gives "BOOTMRG is missing" error at startup.  I'm trying to boot from the 64-bit of Windows Vista recovery disc.  I clicked on the "repair your computer" option, and it shows the computer loading files.  Then the "System Recovery Options" box appears and asks me to select the operating system to fix it.  The problem is that nothing has listed.  It is said that if your OS is not listed click Load Drivers.  I did, but it is said to insert the device installation media, and then click OK to select the driver.  I clicked on OK and then opens a browser window to select the file.

I don't know which file I'm supposed to select here.  I searched online for an answer, and someone told him to go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the driver for RAID controller.  I tried to go to the site of the bridge to find it, but it doesn't seem to be one for Vista 64-bit.

Please please help!  I have to at least be able to extract the files to the hard drive before reinstalling windows.

    Hello

    ·        Have you Configure RAID on the system?

If you have not configured then RAID on the system, I suggest you to disable the RAID/eSATA (SATA improved) in the BIOS. Once you turn off the RAID/eSATA on the system that your basic hard disk should be recognized by the system because it doesn't require any drivers, it will act as an IDE. Once you have disabled the RAID/eSATA then booting into the recovery environment and build the Bootrec and check if the problem is resolved. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to rebuild the bootrec.

Rebuild the BCD store by using the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. get the Vista installation DVD and pop in your drive.

    b. then restart your computer.

    c. press a key when you are prompted.

    d. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then hitNext

    e. click on repair your computer

    f. click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next

    g. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt

    h. type bootrec /rebuildbcd and then press the Enter"" key.

    ·        If Bootrec runs successfully, it will present you with the installation of a Windows directory path. To add the entry in the BCD store, type Yes. A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry has been added successfully.

    ·        If Bootrec cannot findany lack of facilities of Windows, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order shown below: (remember to press ENTER after each command)
    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
    Bootrec /rebuildbcd

    i. restart the computer.

  • system recovery problem

I have a laptop hp pavilion dv 2700.  A few weeks ago the hard drive died so I replaced it.  Now I am trying to run the system recovery and it does not work.  I had recovery dvd that I did when I got to the computer, but they did not work.  Now, I'm doing the recovery with the DVD of the factory.  Everything seems to be okay until I get to a point where vista wants to restart and wonder if it's ok.  I don't seem to have a choice then I hit ok.  Then, after the reboot, I get an error message saying "Windows is unable to complete the installation.  To install windows on this computer, run the Setup again. "If I hit ok the computer restarts and I get the same message.  I ran the system recovery now 3 times with the same results.

I talk to the tech support people and they don't seem to know what could be the problem.  They said they would send me another set of DVD.

If anyone has any ideas on what's going on I would really appreciate it.

    Hello

Thanks for the tips.  I'm sorry that you have had problems as well.

I think I have my problem figured out.  At one point, after about 3 hours of installation, I get a windows saying that the computer needs to restart and I can do it now and later.  The first 3 times that I tried installing, I clicked restart now and then after it restarted it said could not install windows and I needed to do it again.  I decided to try one more time and this time when the reboot box come I simply ignored it.  Finally it finished installing (I don't know how long it took because I went to bed).  Everything seems to work ok now.

So, if anyone has the same problem, just leave the computer alone until you get to the part where you get to set up your windows account.

  • Problems with system restore recovery disc

I accidently turned off my computer when starting, so now it doesn't start any more.
So, I finally burned an ISO recovery disk, and I use recovery tools by booting from a CD.  I have a system of two days, which has the chance to restore.  However, he says that the disc is damaged.  To restore, I must check the C drive.  However, I can't check that right now, because it is in use.  So I have to schedule a check disk for the next boot.
However, the next time I start, it starts on the hard drive and then returns to the black screen - the original problem.  So, I have to turn it off and try something else.
I'm really close, it seems and the files are there, I can't access it.  It is quite frustrating.  What should I do?  Don't forget, I have access to a prompt from here.
So is there a way to recover my system, or what I need to get a Vista disk and reinstall? I have all my backup files, via Ubuntu, so if I have to, I can reinstall Vista.  I would like to avoid this if possible, however.

    Hello

    ·         Remember to make changes to your computer before this problem occurred?

    ·         You get code or error messages when you start the computer?

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

    ·         You're able to boot in safe mode?

    Method 1:

Try to use the last good known Configuration if you can't start Windows, but it started correctly the last time you have turned on the computer.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/using-last-known-good-configuration

    Method 2:

Safe mode safe mode and system restore

    Step 1:

I suggest you to check if you can connect to the computer in safe mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

When you use safe mode to resolve problems with your computer, you might find the tools and useful features.

I have a gateway with Windows Vista Home Basic x 32.  Recently, it would break any chance and will have to be turned off manually.  Some options in the start screen and I would always click on start windows normally.  Today, I went through the process and came up with the blue screen of death.  He said that if this is the first time you see this reboot, so I did.  Then the blue screen of death came once again, and he said to go in the system recovery options.  Having no idea how to do that I restarted again.  Then the recommended option was to go into system recovery thing, so I said to myself Oh well it will fix itself.  I went in there and he brought me to the system recovery option screen.  It is said to find my operating system in a list and there is no operating system indicating.  Then I read and it says if you do not have an operating system, then load the drivers here.  I click on that and there is a list of about 50 cases.  Inside of some folders are folders more.  I can't possible go through all records to find driver software that he wants me to.  I also never had a disc of windows vista with the purchase of the computer

  • done a system recovery, error of task has been installed OK, but when my backup problem was also back

System recovery is my only alternative

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi people, I can't use except in safe mode system restore, when I go into the Task Manager I get a pop-up box saying task image is damaged or has been tampered with, I had offers to try to remove (the user synchronization task flow) and then go to cmd and type (msfeedssync enable) but my problem with this my power supply synchronization user is missing, I reluctantly made a repair of vista I have the drive, which took 5 to 6 hours only to find yet, I have the same problem, should I just live with the problem seeing has I can do a restore of the system in safe mode, or I think about a recovery of the system as a last resort I have a backup on an external hard drive image, and if I do that, can I just transfer the problem with my backup disk. Thank you, patch41. I did a system restore and then installed my backup file only to find that the problem was back

  • Vista 32 bit Vaio System Recovery on new drive

My drive completely crashed and had to be replaced (Vaio VGN-N325E). I try to use the DVD of Sytem Vaio recovery for Vaio VGN-N300E series I ordered Sony (contains recovery Vista 32 Bit and all programs). He gets on the "System Recovery Options" where it is said if you do not see your operating system are mentioned (I don't) click on load drivers to load the drivers for your hard drive. When I click Load Drivers, it appears to add DRIVERS with the message "insert the media from the device and click OK to select the driver. When I click OK it refresh the folder System32 of the boot drive. I'M STUCK AT THIS POINT. Can I put in the disc 1 or 2? which driver I'm looking for? Where is it located?

Unfortunately, we can not really help with the retrieval of the disks or the manufacturer recovery Partitions - they are the manufacturer and non-Microsoft.  We have not the necessary information on the process of recovery from each manufacturer to be able to help you.  You need to get in touch with Vaio Support technical assistance to this process: http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/lpage.do?page=/support/business_support.html&name=Support.

Sorry we can't be more helpful.

  • G60-231WM system recovery problems

    HP Pavilion dv5-1125nr

    Windown Vista 64-bit

I sell my laptop to a family member and have wiped my hard drive and tries to perform a system recovery. When executing the partitian recovery, I get all the way to a screen that says that it is to install Windows, but it hangs just there for hours and hours. I tried this 3 times without success.

I tried using the recovery disks that I created when I bought the laptop without a bit of luck, too. It goes through the first 2 discs, no problem, but when I put Disc 3 nothing happens. I wonder if I can use a recovery from another laptop disk or what are my options at this point. I'm a little desperate because I was paid for the computer and am supposed to ship it tomorrow!  Until 3 days ago when I started this process, it worked flawlessly. I did system restore many times without problem, so I am at a loss.

The other HP laptop we have is a G60-231WM. I use the restore disks created on this laptop to complete the process of restoration on the Pavilion? Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Hello

Your other laptop recovery disks don't work on your dv5.

I would like to try to wipe the entire hard disk including the recovery Partition and then reinstall the operating system using your recovery disks - they will re - create the recovery Partition during the installation.

Download and install Killdisk on the link below - (this application will write zeros to the entire disk).

    http://Software.LSoft.net/KillDiskSuiteFree-Setup.exe

Download and install ImgBurn on the link below.

    http://download.CNET.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html

Access the application of disc kill you have installed in all programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators, then the BACK Bootable CD Creator that will burn the ISO on a blank CD bootable.

During the following process do not worry about all warnings as your recovery DVDs will reformat the HARD drive.

Insert this CD into your PC which is unable to load the operating system properly. Close Notepad, and then start again to boot from the CD of Killdisk and follow the instructions on the screen to kill disk.

A brief description of the process here is Killdisk.

Use it to wipe the entire hard drive (f10) - ( make sure to include all partitions and then start the process - this may take a few hours!).  At the end of this process, you should see a single HARD disk, not partitions.

When the process is complete, remove the CD from Killdisk, insert your first HP recovery disk and then hold the power button until the laptop turns off then restart the laptop to try the installation again.

    Kind regards
