problems of Windows vista at startup
I started having a problem dell w / my laptop. Windows Vista freezes and the screen just hangs. I tried to restart but it gives me only a few minutes once I connect before it freezes again. It keeps freezing whenever I restart, if I don't log in it will freeze and sometimes it freezes before windows has finished starting. can help?
Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.
Restore point:
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/
Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm
Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
problems with windows vista startup
2 days ago, that my computer was running an update. the computer has been accidentally disabled during the upgrade. the next day I got tired of the laptop start but I couldn't access it. When I turn on the laptop it says ""windows is not stopped successfully", then it gives me the opportunity to start in"safe mode","course with the command' or 'normal startup'.» When I click on one of these options, it takes me to the screen where I choose which user to log as long as. After I click on the user, I want to open a session on a black screen appears and it does not change. I see the cursor and I am able to move, but that's all I can do. in 'normal' mode, I try ctrl + alt + delete, but nothing happens (no window opens). in safe mode, I do ctrl + alt + delete and the window but when I click on restart, closed, logoff, or one of the options, nothing happens. I end up having to close the cpu by holding down the power button. I have no cd startup/recovery. I tried the F8 option but nothing happens. Please help me!
original title: could not resolve the problem of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 update!
Hey there,
I got Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 in my laptop when I bought it. Recently there was no updates of security (e.g., KB2481109) to install it into my system with a error: 80073712 and I had received a notification from windows to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2update. I tried to install it from windows update, but I got the error: 8024200d. I read the solution on this site and followed by download the stand-alone file and install "System Update Readiness Tool" (KB947821). ". After that I downloaded the standalone version "Windows Vista Service Pack 2" (KB948465) and tried to install it, but I got the error: 800f081f. "» I did Scan SFC which there is "no question of integrity" in the system, uninstalled "Avira Antivirus software" and again tried to install Service Pack 2 , but again, I've got the error: 80073712 After all this I couldn't solve the problem. Please provide some tips if anyone has solved the same or has a solution!
Thank you very much
UD
Hi Electrocuteud,
You have access to a Windows Vista installation disc? If so, follow the steps in this document to perform an InPlace upgrade. This will reinstall Vista without making any changes to the files and programs on the computer. Even if your data and programs must be safe, it is always advisable to make sure that you have a recent backup before major changes on the computer.
I have a problem of Windows Vista permission/access denied
E-mail address is removed from the privacy * I have a problem in Windows Vista in which case there are 2 profiles that are both administrators. The problem is that, while trying to do a repair on the C drive to free up space, I get the message that ACCESS is denied. I can't free transer data on external drive Western 1 TB space, kind of frustrating. 0 bytes remain & access continues to be denied. Property, permissions are not allowing me to correct this situation. Justin [removed personal information]
Hello
· What is the case for the two user accounts?
You can try to create a new user account with administrator privileges and check if you are able to transfer the files. If you are able to transfer files using the new user account, then this is the problem with the permissions on the drive.
To apply permissions to a file or a folder
(a) right click on drive C:\ then clickProperties.
(b) click on anti-terrorism tab and then click on edit.
(c) do one of the following:
· To set permissions for a user who is not quoted underGroup or user names, click Add, type the name of the user or group, click OK, select the permissions, and then click OK.
· To change or remove permissions for a user or an existing group, click the name of the user or group, select the permissions, and then click OK.
Also, check if your computer is infected with a virus.
Hope this information is useful.
Hello
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
See if you have a recovery Partition:
There may be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Vista to how you bought your computer, unless the pirated installation wiped.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
