Problems to open attachments using Skydrive?

I sent an e-mail with an attachment to my e-mail of the school because the school does not hotmail open.  I'm at school now, so I can't access that I have supreme Envoy.  My school uses a private messaging service.  When I click on the link, Skydrive starts to load, but eventually show an error message.  Prior to Skydrive, I used to be able to send and open attachments easily.  Is there something I can do?

  • Problems to open attachments and documents online! Help

I have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007. Recently when I try and open a document online, or a room attached to e-mail, it opens with the CODE? Even if the document is not in WORD, it is the default one and said so do SAVE you or OPEN this file? When I OPEN (the same thing that happens when I record on my account as well) a box appears that says...

FILE CONVERSION - (with letters and numbers here)

    Then he said:...

Select the encoding that makes your document readable:

ENCODING OTHER MS-DOS from Windows (default)

Then, there is a box on the right with all these countries... etc...

and below a box... which displays the code.

No matter what a choice all that I see is the code? I'm usually picking WINDOWS (DEFAULT), but that did not help either. Why would he do that? I even UNINSTALLED MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 and then REINSTALLED thinking that would help... but no luck! I also ran scans on my account to see if it was a virus... but no threats not found...

I am at a loss, maybe it's just a simple matter of SETTINGS?

    Thank you

    Michele

  • I can't open attachments Yahoo mail, but can in Internet Explorer. Tried all of the suggested fixes and nothing works.

I tried all that on the previous thread for the same problem and I can not open attachments. I have no problem with attachments in Internet Explorer. It looks like a problem of FireFox for me.

Whuch suggestions did you try? Here are two recent threads, I found:

    • / issues/978924 Cannot open the pdf attachment in Yahoo Mail. Worked in 25.0 not 25.0.1. Still works with IE.

Have you tried /questions/977835? page = 2 #answer-506091 (change the parameters of 'Complete' to 'Basic')?

Are you accessing Yahoo Mail directly from https://mail.yahoo.com/ instead of via a bookmark? Edit: I see already suggested this and linked to another thread, philipp/issues/971042

  • Cannot open attachments in firefox. OK in IE and iPhone and outlook

When using firefox for the email, I'm now unable to open attachments. Happened over the last week, before that, it was fine and I have not changed any settings (that I know).

I tried all the usual stuff of restart and looked at the settings as much as possible, but nothing jumps.

Email attachments even open fine in outlook, since my iphone and in IE, but I prefer the firefox because I used to use it for so long now. In addition, old attachments that I opened in the past won't open.

Never had any problems before with opening of attachments. All programs are affected - word, excel, pdf, etc.

    Thanks - Jacki

  • cannot open attachments in hotmail

Last week I found that I couldn't open attachments in my Hotmail account using Firefox v 3.6.25. I used this version for quite some time and it is a new problem. I have upgraded my Norton 360 v 5.1.0.29. I contacted Norton and they were unable to help me. There is NO problem of access to these attachments when I switch to Chrome or Internet Explorer. Any ideas why Firefox has hesitated to this? I cleared my cache and cookies. No help!

  • Cannot open attachments in my Inbox

Why I can't open attachments in my inbox, accept unknown senders, use the up or down arrows to read emails. I continue to have returned to the home page?

The forum is to post your comments on the web site of Microsoft Answers, only not to ask questions e-mail.

Since you don't mention which e-mail service you use, or you mention what application you use to access this service (although I suspect it is a web browser based on your mention of 'home page'), I am at a loss to suggest the ideal forum for your post.

If you are using Hotmail as your e-mail service, then ask in the center of Windows Live Hotmail Portalsolutions.  If, however, you think that the problem is related to your web browser and you are using Internet Explorer, these forums can be found starting here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie.  Be sure to choose the forum specific to your version of Internet Explorer.  If you see error messages when you do whatever it is you do, please include the full text of this error in your new post.

  • Windows Vista Home Edition suddenly not open attachments. How can this be corrected?

I can't open attachments in the email in the "MAIL" program in Vista Home Premium

    Hello, tubifex

Please use the Forum for answers!

I'm moving your post on the forum of programs.

What kind of attachments you are trying to open?
What is the exact error message you get?
Have you installed any programs or updates before this has stopped working?

Are you able to open the offending file type in Windows directly?

If this started recently, you can try to do a system restore. This will restore the filesystem to a previous point in time. Go to start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, open system restore and choose a date before the problem started.

We can't wait to hear back on your part.

  • Cannot open attachments in Outlook 2007

Last night, a few windows of time made an update.  1. I had my system asking me to do updates, but he did it anyway.  2. this morning I can't double click on Word attachments in emails and open them in Word, it only will allow me to get a glimpse.  I need them to open it in Word.  That's happened?  What can I do to fix?  Also I just found out that my mouse does not work in Word.  Should use the arrows.  HOW FRUSTRATING!

    KK

    Hi Kelly,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Since this problem you encounter began after that windows update, you can use the System Restore tool to return your computer to an earlier point in time. The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Before you start Please back up your data

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    ·         Click Start, type System Restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    ·         In the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point, and then click on Next.

    ·         In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    ·         Click Finish.

    ·         The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

If it is an update, the best way to solve this problem is to apply only updates one at a time to determine which updates is causing this problem.

Click on start-> all programs -> Windows Update. Click change settings in the left menu. Select download updates but let me choose whether to install them, click OK. When you are alerted to install a new update, this window, click on view available updates, uncheck all updates and select one at a time, install it, restart your computer, test and update. Once you find the update either continue to ignore it, or look for it at http://support.microsoft.com/.

We hope this resolves the issue and look forward to hearing back from you on your results.

My computer is a 64 bit HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop and my version of Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1 of Windows Vista

I look forward to any help I can get.  Thank you.

Have you installed IE8? If so, that's your problem. The drones at microsoft will not acknologe this issue calling it a virus program incompatibility. If you uninstall IE8 yiu will probably be back in the business of making it easily, click on the link between communities at the bottom of the error message and analysis through messages until you see a link to uninstall IE8

  • I have windows mail and it does not allow me to open attachments

I've used windows mail in vist afor several years - he stopped allowing me to open attachments. Security tab allows attachemnts to open, but I have to follow email and them I can open it front page. Anything else need tick?

    Hi Gumleaf,

    1. this happens with a specific attachment or all?

    2. you receive messages or error codes when you try to open the attachments?

    3. what email you transfer to?

    4. were you able to open the attachments before without any problem?

    Step 1:

You can temporarily disable third-party security software and firewalls installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Step 2:

Alternatively, you can try to run a SFC scan and check.

This problem may occur if a system file is missing or damaged.

You can refer to the method-the System File Checker tool in the following article:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Why can't I open attachments by e-mail .wmv?

Since the installation of Office 2010 (perhaps a little before...) I don't remember) I can't open attachments by e-mail with .wmv that I use for attachments, I think and I would be able to use it.  I went to create a folder, but it was already listed as one, so that will not solve the problem.  Anyone else having this problem?  How to fix?
    Thank you!

When you tried to open wmv attachments and has not, have you an error message?
If Yes, please post the message in its entirety... vrbatim please.

Meanwhile, check to see if you have Windows Media Player, defined as a program to open the wmv files...

Start > Default programs > associate a type of file or Protocol with a specific program > wait loading > under name, scroll to .wmv, click on it > look everywhere, under Default Current, it shoud say Windows Media Player...
otherwise > click Change top program > scroll to find Windows Media Player and select it > click OK when finished. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • Does not open attachments in Mail

    Hello

I am trying to solve a problem for a friend,

in Windows Mail on Vista my friend is not able to open the attachments for example. .PDF, .doc, .xls, etc., if they try to save the first attachment is said that there is not enough disk space, when I checked, there were 120 GB of free space left.  All the Windows updates were installed and Service Pack 1 & 2 were installed, Windows Security Essentials is installed and up to date and I tried to install Windows Live Mail and the same thing happens, I checked all the file extensions are assigned to the correct programs, I checked that in Mail security settings do not block attachments.  Attachments used to work, but he stopped about a month ago.  Any suggestions on how to solve this problem. Thank you.

Where can I find setting, as I'm sure that, in respect of the security in Windows Mail I unchecked something to do with not opening attachments that could be a risk of virus.

I overlooked the fact that your friend uses Microsoft Security Essentials.
My suggestion 'disable electronic mail analysis' does NOT here apply.
    My apologies.

I don't know why your friend is such a problem.
I can only suggest that the account in question is corrupted...
Go to Windows Mail > tools > accounts > click this account > delete.
    Now recreate this account.
Note: you can copy down the settings first before deleting the account.
