• EA6350 - strange problem with DNS on some devices.

  My EA6350 has this strange issue where some devices, not all, are struggling to get the DNS, and I have to go back and manually configure DNS servers (I am on Comcast, so I use Comcast servers) in each unit carried out in order to get an Internet connection. (i.e., I need to replace the 192.168.1.1 provided by DHCP from the router with 75.75.75.75/75.75.75.76).  Looks like its something to do with some of my devices do not love how DNS gets proxied through this address by the router.  I've seen him have a problem on a Win7 PC, a PC Win10, a chromebook, an Xbox 360 and a couple of smart TV, but it seems not to be a problem on iPhones, iPads, a phone Win10, Win10 tablet, an other PC Win7, and one an Xbox.

  I tried to do a factory reset and reset of the router and flush the DNS cache on the device that would allow me to do, but nothing helped. My firmware is updated.  I also tried to set the static routes of the DNS on the router and that doesn't seem to help either.

  The interesting part about this is that it hit all of the devices in my house, just a few and it seems to be more prevalent on cable devices.  From what I can tell, the router receives its DNS Comcast very well (and as I said, there are a lot of devices that work).   Has anyone else seen anything like this?

  I think I solved my problem.  I did a factory reset on the router and don't update the firmware and now everything seems to work for all devices, even the most problematic.

• Problem with png and img_lib on some devices

  I'm getting reports of some users that png images are distorted on some but not all devices when using img_load_file. I suspect it has something to do with the Qualcomm devices, but can't seem to reproduce the problem on the Simulator or device Dev Alpha. Everyone knows that, or is perhaps something with just a very small subset of devices. Currently, I only had 3 reports, but there are maybe more. Any help would be appreciated or even if someone can replicate the problem. I use the png to blit in a native window. Again, it works on the Simulator and Dev Alpha so it has probably something to do with the Qualcomm devices, but I did not test it with.

  Sean is probably right. Maybe on this processor, the stride/overlay screen is different. Just look at the kind of distortion you get resembles a problem of off-by-pixel stride. Stride length of overlap is probably greater than the libimg stride (or less if you have the wrong format configured for your overlay - unlikely because it works in the Simulator)

  Try to change this line

  Note that I make the distinction between overlay_stride, who was the stride that Sean was referring, and the wake libimg, stored in overlayimg.access.direct.stride. It may well be that for ARGB8888, libimg will give you a stride of overlayimg.w * 4, but you should not make this assumption.

  Edit: Heck, crossing my fingers even did not help. Re-written the memcpy to make use of the IMG_FMT_BPL found in img.h macro. BPL stands bytes per line, which is the number of words aligned byte pixel data takes each scan line * no * including the stride. Also originally I forgot to update the data source pointer. In all cases, the new post of Sean makes the issue more clear with regard to obtaining the stride of the screen properties, so give a code.

  This problem may occur if there are handles open with all the files in the USB (Universal Serial Bus) mass storage device are in use by another program.

  Method 1:

  (a) Download Process Explorer from the link below

  (c) type the drive letter of the USB device in the handle or DLL substring text box and press the search button.

  (e) with a view to the processes of the system tree, look for the process according to the dialog box find handle or DLL.

  (f) press Ctrl + H to display the handles in the view in the lower pane.

  (g) find the file according to the drive letter and right click, choose Manage close.

  Is - what happens on multiple devices or just one?  If it is just a device you can try to reload the software of the device in case anything is damaged.

• Audio play back well on some devices, no other

  A very strange thing that happens with an audio track that I'm editing for a video, with the help of hearing and the first. This is audio from a file video .h264/AAC. Everything seems fine on my machine, but when some people watch the video or listen to only the audio track, the sound becomes glitchy and barely audible. He plays for some people very well, not for others. I knew that there was a problem, because someone told me that what they meant to their end. I can't reproduce the problem on my computer.

  The problem is that the audio file that you have produced is essentially a mono file of double track. However, there is a reversal of phase on one track compared to the other. So it seems to read OK on a stereo system but the audio will almost completely cancel on a system that only plays back as mono.

  Therefore restate your audio by reversing a track. Re-record and it should then probably play OK on everything.
