Problems with Compaq Presario SR5830AN Moses

My mouse, but that came with my office worked fine, now becomes jerky while on prospects, but that works perfectly in browsing the internet.  Any help would be appreciated as the parameters appear well i.e. scrolling = 3 lines.  It seems that there is a delay when scrolling in email only.

Hi Chris,

Search on the website of the manufacturer for an update of the mouse driver.

  • Problems with Compaq Presario 5BW220 RAM

This office is 8 years old and supposedly supports 512 MB memory SDRAM PC100.

Recently, I worked on this for my son-in-law.  It came with 64 MB of SDRAM PC100 and Windows Millennium Edition.  I tried to install 2-256 MB memory SDRAM PC133 maximum amount supported RAM, but it refused to start.  I replaced every 256 MB module with a 128 MB PC100 module and managed to do start.  I expected to read 384, but he will read only 256 MB.  I had not all PC100 256 MB modules to use.  I finally installed modules from 2 to 128 MB PC100 and he left like that.

I never had a problem in the past with an old desk accepting a combination of PC100 and PC133 modules, so it was a first for me.

The Compaq Presario 5BW220 have a problem with the acceptance of this combination, and she actually says a maximum of 512 MB?

This could be useful in the future:

    http://www.crucial.com/

If you click "scan my system" he can tell you all sorts of things on the RAM.

I have a system built home (with all the paperwork by moving the boxes...) who had a chip spoil.  I could not remember what RAM took it and I didn't go root through the boxes in the garage. =)

Their scanning system could not see what kind of memory I had, but he told me exactly what my motherboard could support. (Type and max of 1 GB per slot)  He even suggested several configurations of memory.

Once I saw what he said, he had, I remembered that I had bought before and it didn't fit.

  • Problem with Compaq presario V3500

CurrentY I used Compaq V3500 since September 2008 (before I bought CQ40-308TU, because I am satisfied with the product HP-Compaq). but a few days ago my laptop crash suddenly after (unfortunally) my warranty has expired. After that I can solve the crash and can enter the system, my only detected 1 GB ram (I've been updated in 2 GB). I tried to check and test whetever sodimm died. but after I check the reslt for my sodimm is alive. I found later, the problem is on the socket to sodimm, a socket is dead. as my warranty has expired, I tried service to General laptop Service Center. but they also abandon this case. They suggestion is to change the motherboard with new ones, and it will be quite expensive. could someone suggest another option to solve this problem without replacing the motherboard with the new? or what was already a general problem for user V3500 early? (maybe v3500 is a product of the failure of HP-compaq?)

With a dead memory slot, your only option is a new motherboard. Yes, the whole V3000 is a cousin to the Pavilion dv6000 line which was not an interpreter that is remarkable to say the least.

  • Can I upgrade to SSD with Compaq Presario V3000? If so, how to activate the AHCI?

I have an old compaq presario v3000. The hard drive failed and I would like to upgrade to an SSD if possible in the hope of improving performance. My laptop does support an ssd? Also, I read on a ssd that bios have an option to enable the AHCI? I don't think my bios has this option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

The service guide shows only 2 GB maximum memory installed.

SATA IDE to AHCI passing via regedits

For safety reasons make registry changes by hand instead of download the script.

  • Travel to Ireland with compaq presario CQ60-420US

How can I recharge the battery in Ireland when they are on 220 volts. I am running windows 7 on the laptop

Don't worry about this. The adapter works from 100 to 240 volts. Therefore, you will be able to work with your laptop anywhere in the world. BTW, you need just a travel adapter to connect the power adapter to the wall outlet.

  • Problem with compaq 6910p

well, I have win xp professional version 2002 SP3 installed and my quick lunch buttons do not work (ctr + alt + delete, ctrl + a keys fn etc.) btw I have hp quick lunch buttons version 6.40 C2.       Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

Configuration of the BIOS (the system - device configurations configuration) watch if you have enabled

'Change the functions of the fn key and the left CTRL '.

If yes your Joanie right CTRL works as the key ctrl, but not the left that shoudact like the fn and the button fn should act as ctrl.

Do you have any accessory plugged into your desktop?  If so, interrupt them and restart...

If this does not work, unplug the power cord at the back of the tower... then press and hold the power button down for 10 seconds... wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in and try to start it upward.

If this does not work, it is probably a hard drive or the failure of the BIOS.  Boot into the BIOS by pressing the F10 key when you see the HP logo, and then run the hard drive test to determine if it is a failure of the HD.  If the test succeeds. Press the F9 key to load BIOS defaults... then save and exit and try to restart.

  • Compaq Presario SR1901WM: Problems burning

Hi, everyine, I'm having a problem with my Presario SR1901WM. I'm running Windows XP, SP3, all installed updates. The problem is, when I try to burn a CD, it stops after about 45 seconds, a tray open the CD and I get an error message, there was problem burn your CD, you can try again with another CD, or cancel. I tried with 2 different programs of engraving, Sonic Digital Media Home and CD Burner XP, same thing. I tried 2 different burners, a Sony DRU-840 has and a DVD Super-Multi 16 X on a Compaq SR5613WM, and the same thing happens. I tried both programs with two burners with the same result. I did a full check disk, including scanning for and attempt recovery of bad sectors and a disk defragmentation. Always the same thing. I tried 3 different brands of media, still no CD. Anyone has an idea on what's going on?

Well, it doesn't seem to be a problem.  The problem is that all displayed disks are old and it could still be a bad drive.

In addition, being that the computer in question is 2006 it could just be that the interface for the player is bad.  The SR1901WM is a technical computer limited, but it should still be able to burn a CD.  If the means to burn it on a CD are necessary, in this old computer, I would first try another IDE port for the DVD/CD player see if that's the problem.  A different ribbon cable would be the next option.  Finally, try an external box that can connect the drive or a connector like this: http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-USB-DSC5-3-5-Inch-Converter-Adapter/dp/B000HJ99DI

If the last option is chosen, then all mentioned discs can be checked to see if one of them works, or borrow another drive to the test.  Then report on the results.

My laptop Compaq Presario 6604 to THE beginning to give a lot of problems in recent times. Every day, I spend a lot time on their fixation; no resolution anyway.

BIOS hangs at the initial screen for 3-5 minutes. After 3-5 minutes, it goes to the next screen. Pressing only works key "ESC". I tried the BIOS flashed with the latest firmware (PRICE Phoenix F 32). Problem persists.

    What I tried:

1 memory module checked. Tried different RAM module.

2 checked hard drive for errors - Self Test passed.

3 flashed the BIOS with the latest Firmware.

    Problem 2:

Vista hangs at the initial screen (screen bar trip)

    What I tried:

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Solved!

The problem was with supply management power to the motherboard. I took it to a service person and he said it's a common problem with Compaq V6000 laptop /V3000 of the series... He solved the problem in 30 mins by replacing the chips... Too bad I spent several weeks on troubleshooting the problem myself.

I hope that this post will help someone...

    Thank you!

  • hard drive overheating compaq presario v3700

Hello! I would like to ask if anyone with compaq presario v3700 met the same problem? I think that it is not normal that the drive to get too hot to the point where it stops. Even the ventilation ports are open, it's the same thing.

Take a look at this document that I put a link, it may be useful.

I also use Chillpads on all my books, just a quick note so you are the one that you still need to put it on a hard surface or the vents on the chillpad to be blocked.

  • Problem with the Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX

Hello, I'm having a problem with my NEW Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX mother. Every time it boots up vista and I run internet explorer, I get a strange blue screen which exports a file memory and reboots.

I have the feeling that this might have been caused by a virus, but I can't do something, because Vista can't reformat long for some reason any.

I tried a hard test in my motherboard and he said that there is something wrong with my hard drive.

I don't know what is happening, right now I'm in safe mode trying to find viruses that Nod32 does not detect everything.

Can someone tell me how I can get either the Windows XP Discs to work at startup (which, for some reason, they do not), or an alternative to a long format?

Is there a way to fix this without reformatting? There's almost nothing on this laptop anyway so I'm always willing to do. A regular format has done nothing to solve the problem, I did it with Ubuntu and it did a quick format, but I had no problem with Ubuntu. Then I reinstall Vista and I am constantly having problems with a blue screen of death.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    The Chemich does not exist

If you want to do a reinstall of Vista then press F11 continuously during the boot upward. This will bring you in Recovery Options were you can choose to restore the system in the same State as when it was purchased. But if, as you suggested, is that a problem of hard drive reinstall won't help.

  • Compaq Presario desktop XP-problems connecting / came with the settings and files of the previous owner

My Director ex-chorale of the Church and his wife (was his computer) moved to Minnesota and gave me this Compaq Tower and the monitor speakers.  She cleaned me all of hers off the coast.  Well, she didn't.  She switched to the network connection and modem.  I'm low on memory.  Help support & the beginning, Compaq support and connections says "unable to connect to the server."  I have fast Internet with Comcast cable.  His modem is Gegere or something and the network connection is RealTek 97 Fast family and mine is Arris (modem).  Specifications of the computer:

    XP Edition family c. 2002 SP3

Compaq Presario Intel inside Celeron (R)

    CPU 2.53 GHz

    248 MB of RAM

CD player works but the DVD player does not open.  Connection is so slow that it takes 5-10 minutes to open anything.  IE8 gets constantly "stops responding."  Just like Firefox.  When you try to close a window or stop start, end the program box comes back and comes back again and again.

Went to start-help & support-Compaq help and did some tests.  For Audio, etc. get: "Exception in DisplayRunMap.runmap.

Only had this computer for 2 weeks and did nothing to save.  Can reinstall Norton Security Suite for Comcast and my Microsoft Professional 2007 from a cd.  Thought to do the system recovery.  This OS came with Compaq and recovery CD system recovery option and there is F - 10 System Recovery on initialize toward the top.  Are they the same?  I first have to install Windows XP on a bunch of CD?  Can't make a DVD if the drive does not open.  The button is loose and nothing happens.

I am 63 and security social disability so can not afford a new computer, or to hire a technician.  Help, please!

When you request support, please provide the number full name or product model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The above requested information on the side, back, or bottom of your computer. , Please do not include your serial number.

The 'F10' and Compaq system recovery of Windows XP system recovery are the same thing. You don't need to create "HP recovery discs" before making a recovery, but you may need these disks at a later date. If a set of disks has already been created, you will not be able to create a second series and you may need to buy a game from a third-party vendor.  With the complete model number name and/or product will allow us to direct you to a place to buy these records, if necessary.

  • Problem with the installation of the graphics driver on PC Compaq Presario

    Hello.

My computer is a Compaq Presario SR5450F using Windows Vista 32-bit. I'm updating the graphics driver, and I downloaded it from the HP site. It is the only driver available for my PC model of the manufacturer that is listed on the site. However, when I try to install it, I get an error message saying that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the update. How my computer may not meet the minimum requirements for an update especially for my computer? Can someone help me with this please?

You have added an additional graphics card?
What version of driver currently installed?

I recommend to install the latest driver from nvidia.com.
