ProBook 430 G2: Problem of pre-start for the HP disc encryption

Good evening

I have a problem with the HP drive encryption. I activated it (drive encryption and Pre-boot authentication) but it took a lot of time, so I decided to do a cover (the player was not entirely encrypted). However, I still have the problem with authentication pre-seed. Is there a way to disable it? When I try to launch Windows Security Manager, I have an Assistant and the drive seems to be decrypted, so I can't disable the start-up aunthetication.

After the reset in the BIOS settings, I managed to solve the problem

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ab083T: laptop upgraded before even starting for the first time = problem?

    Hello!

I recently bought this laptop with the intention to replace the hard drive (1 TB HDD 120 GB SSD), as well as upgrading the ram from 8 GB to 16 GB. The problem is that I have improved these things before you start for the first time. And now it complains that it cannot find a device boot, even when I insert a USB key with windows 10 iso on it. Or a cd with windows XP. He needs to have the HDD windows 8.1 original in it on first commissioning? It took a while to replace parts...

    Thanks in advance.

That's very true, I used gparted before checking this again, and it was corrupted. Very well! I ended up installing windows 10 home using a free student license. It's perfect, since I have windows 8.1 before running on the 1 TB hard drive and it was filled with bloatware, thanks to HP (no offense). So, it is nice to have a clean install. Everything works fine now, I had to change some settings of 'Legacy Boot' in the bios to boot from the USB.

  • Installation Partition problem (allocated too expensive for the Service Console?)

Installation Partition problem (allocated too expensive for the Service Console?)

RAID1 (15K 146 GB SAS) on Dell R710 and VMFS is on table EQL.

What I did during the ESX4.1 excavation, it's that I have used ALL the space in 146 GB (mainly for / and / var), after adding this ESX host to vCenter, VC and EQL ASM/VE started to complain about the following points:

1 VC: health check of localstorage warning (only has 245 MB left on 146SAS localstorage)

2 EQL ASM/VE: warning rootFolder folder (due to the above)

I thought that he is authorized to use all the space for / (50 GB) and / var (50 GB) in my case for only 146 GB, I don't think I need to leave any space on the installation disc.

Could someone share some lights here?

    Thank you

As you can see SDS use all the SDC VMFS partition space.

    This create the alarm.

The thing really confused me why I have to leave a space on the disk at all?

Technically there is no reason to let the space... but also no reason to have a big service console

Usually, you need 10 to 20% free space for each snapshot data store and Exchange files... but in your case, you will not have these files.

If you have any problems, but you receive the alarm until you do not disable them on this specific data store.

PS: I suggest you switch to ESXi, is quite simple and it doesn't have this strange vmdk for the "console".

  • Good start for the virtualization server?

    Hello

I would like some advice on a good start for the virtualization server. I would like to run the more recent, free of VMware ESXi 4.1 edition (vSphere Hypervisor?) on the supported hardware (where the RAID can be monitored with VMware).

For example, something like this: http://www.Dustin.se/pd_5010442452.aspx

I guess the 8 cores on the server above is a better choice than faster Intel 4 processor (as each VM gets a dedicated core?).

    Any input/advice/server suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks in advance!

OK, so if I understand you is good, I could install VMware ESXi 4.1 on a USB key inserted at the back of the R210 server, and I would have a facility "embedded"?

No, not really. "Embedded" means the purchase of a server preconfigured with ESXi hardware already installed by a few big name of the seller. "ESXi Installable" means that you install ESXi yourself a CD, and it could be placed on a number of devices supported, including USB. It will always be "ESXi installable" However, if it has nothing to do where actually install you it.

    How can he start correctly?

    Hello

First thing I'd do is uninstall all the HP software, eliminate him as possible points of contention. If possible, also do a system restore to a point before for the initial installation.

This service would not affect internet connection as such, it watches DCOM, it is not fire events to network. My thought is that the HP software has caused a problem with DCOM, then removing is the first step. The first starting attempt of the day, it does not start, it is consumed on gets in front of splash screens after the cursor flashing in the top left then hold with a blank screen (not the cursor just a low glow).

Hold down the power button / turn off and turn on again then the computer will start. sometimes (not always), it will ask to start normally or repair.

The laptop works perfectly in use does not fall out of mistakes. Restarting the laptop works as expected close and turn on/off after 5 minutes works great.

If the laptop is left for an hour or more, it starts the same as above. turn off and turn on/off the system will start but with boot normally the question.

  • Lenovo Z500 turns off a few seconds after the round. He started for the second time.

    Hello

For several days my Lenovo Z500 is a strange problem. When I push the turn on button laptop starts up and shuts down after a few seconds when the windows logo appears. When I push again the button it starts fine with no problems.

I have a Windows Professional 10, everything was ok for a while and now I don't know how to solve my problem.

I'm going to enjoy all the ideas.

I thought to reinstall Windows, but maybe you know the solution to fix it.

P.S. I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

    Kind regards

    Albert

I think I solved the problem.

Problem has been activated "quick start" in the power settings.

To turn off the quick start, follow these instructions:

    1. Open the start screen
    2. type po drank directly on the start screen (power buttons short for). It will take you directly to the applet "change what the buttons to" in the search results.
    3. Click on the link "Change settings that are currently unavailable" to put at the disposal of the shutdown options.
    4. Uncheck the enable (active)-quick start .
    5. That's all. Now the quick start feature is disabled.

Now everything works fine, z500 boots each time correctly with the first run.

    Thanks LenBlazer.

My laptop recently locked up when running a DVD rip, I waited an hour or so to see if he would respond, but he didn't, so I turned off the laptop by holding the power button down. I restarted the computer and it loaded correctly to the logon screen and allowed me to log in as usual. Once the computer was connected, I noticed that the sidebar was not loading, and when I click on what whether the locked computer.

To try to remedy this I tried to start the PC in safe mode to perform a restore could noticed that I had not created restore points. I then tried to fill a start last known good config upward, it did not work. Then, I tried a CHKDSK/r procedure at startup. It worked fine until step 3 of 5, on which he seems to hang, I left it overnight and it was still on the same stage. So I have powerd off the PC and tried to start. As noted, I can access command prompt on the recovery disk. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You already did a great job of troubleshooting - exactly what I would have recommended here if you had not already tried.  Play well!  Here is one that you did not and I would start one you tried (because I feel that it is perhaps the root of the problem.

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt, right click command prompt and click Run as administrator (you can skip this step if you are using the disk).

If you use the drive, cd to C:\Windows\System32. Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.  Try to put all the corrupt files here so that we can see if they can be repaired with good copies of the installation disc (unless there are too many).

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  She might want to plan itself to run at the next reboot (but I don't think that will happen if launched from the disk).   If so, answer Yes and restart to run the program.  It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.  I know you tried this before, but we'll try again by using a slightly different command and see if it works this time.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, then we should try to reinstall the system (backup first) as only option short taking in a computer repair shop. But we'll see what happens with the first above.

    Good luck!

  • Startup Repair is checking your system for problems... and for the last ten hours!

Apparently, during Windows updates last night, my laptop itself cut because it became overheated.  When I tried to turn it on this morning, it would not load my login screen, giving instead a screen empty and dark.  Now, he goes through the Startup Repair tool, where it says repairs to try with a blue bar moving, below which it says repair disk errors, it can take more than an hour to complete.  The problem is that he has done this for more than ten hours now with no sign of whether or not it works.  The screen shows exactly:

Startup Repair is checknig your system for problems... If problems are found, Startup Repair will fix automatically.  Your computer may restart several times during this process.  No changes will happen to your personal files or information.  This may take several minutes.  Attempt to repair... Repair the disk errors.  It may take more than an hour to complete.

Help, please! My laptop is only a year old and I backed up my files not recently (there are several important to me).  If he finishes by turn on normally? What is happening with it?

    Hi Ali,

Do you remember the update (S) that caused the problem to occur?
Remove all external devices (i, e printer, USB devices) and check.

In the meantime, follow these steps and see if it resolves the problem.

    Step 1:

If you have the Vista installation disc, I would suggest you start in the system recovery options and do a System Restore to the point that your computer was working normally.

    Step 2:

Once your system is restored, manually install the Windows updates to determine which update caused the problem to occur.

  • 3000 N200 starts the first time, but he will start for the third time!

    Hello

My old N200 of 2 years has recently decided not to initialize the first time. Usually it starts the third time lucky this changes in the cold outdoors when it may take 7 or 8 will but or does not start later.  I think it started after that I left the machine running on battery power a day forgotten and the next day it took a few goes to start after plugging it load up.

When it wont start the fan lights just like the Windows screen comes on and after a few seconds, it dies as if I had pressed and held down the power button as you would to turn off if the system was no answer, and he makes the same noise. When it finally starts the fan is silent!

    This one worked!

    Thank you very much

I don't know that I have never done this? Certainly not intentionally. Well, I seem to have solved the problem by resetting the CMOS as described elsewhere in the forum. Machine boots first time every time now, so he must have had something to do with it. Or I also during the same operation was released and returned to the my 2 GB memory add on and I think that may be related to poor startup performance if it is not inserted correctly.

What a relief and after being where I bought they had no idea and wanted to send it away etc etc and I pay £11 a month for such a service, I had a lot more less than an hour on this forum

    Thanks for the reply

    Ankit,

Please attach your PL/SQL code, so that we can have a look that the issue could be in that.

    In addition,

Why do you call the code inside this test below? What is the link?

    String [] retVals = am.invokeMethod ("createWFMJob", parameter1) (String []);

Why do you need the code below? Delete this.

    java.sql.Connection connection = oadbtransaction.getJdbcConnection ();

Move the callablestatement.close ();  outside of try catch.
