  I have a Toshiba A60-122 PSA60E model. Pentium 4 HT. 1 GB of memory, 80 GB hard drive. BIOS 1.7.

  The problem is that it hangs on until the Windows XP logo appears, then the choice of Windows is displayed, I try safe mode, but does not work either.

  Do you have these lines of the screen on an external monitor too or only on the screen LCD internal?
  It sounds like a hardware problem, but if you can determine if it s a LCD or motherboard problem. Check it!

  And by the way, what do you mean if you say that it doesn't work? You can see something on the screen and you get a BSOD?

  Maybe the problem is with the motherboard or HARD drive. You can test the HARD drive by using the Drive Fitness Test (Google is your friend).

  I put t think that the repair time will be long. The service guys will check what the problem is (GPU I think) and what they need to do is order new mainboard and replace it.

  How long you should wait depends on service guys. Two years ago, I had damage mainboard on my old Satellite A300 and you won't believe me, within 7 days, I got my laptop.

  My advice to you is to contact the service provider as soon as possible. Be nice and explain that you need your laptop soon, then maybe they'll fix it soon enough.

  Try to press Ctrl + Alt + up ARROW, or try Ctrl + Alt + and a different key to the arrow.

  If this does not work: right click on the empty desk > graphics > Rotation.

  I can't read my writing, so I'm not able to give detailed error code information.  I ran a test by pressing the f4 key.  It came back has failed, this is the error S.M.A.R.T. 303 test code.

  Probably your monitor is faulty or has failed.  Connect a different monitor to your computer - if this one looks well then you need a new monitor. If this isn't the case, then your computer is to have a hardware problem, maybe bad graphics card or bad memory.

  I wouldn't say it s a lack of dead pixel, but to me, it looks like a more serious problem.
  It looks like a malfunction of the graphics card. But to be sure, you should try to connect the external monitor to the computer and check if the same vertical line will appear on the second screen.

  If you're going to see the same line on the external monitor, then I assume that the question of the vertical blue line might be linked to the GPU fault.
  This could be the case value because the chip graphic card cannot be replaced. You need to replace the whole motherboard :(

  So, as you see it s not easy to solve this problem and I really recommend to contact a technician who has more experience with these laptop problems.

  Hello david1354, try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

  You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

  Then perform the following steps:

  • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
  • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
  • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

  It has two ports Thunderbolt.  One is connected to the cable, the other is on the back of the screen.  If you can't find the Thunderbolt port, you will have the Mini DisplayPort in the screen version.  It has three USB ports on the back.  The Thunderbolt display has three USB ports, a FireWire port, an Ethernet port, and a Thunderbolt port on the back.

  (The Mini DisplayPort version cannot be connected in a string.)
