process of the slave?

Hi all

What is the process of the slave?
why we use slave processes?
When it is used?

need to i just described. concept.

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards
DB

What is the process of the slave?

Master/slave is a model of communication where a device or process has unidirectional control over one or more other devices. In some systems, a master is elected from a group of eligible devices with other devices playing the role of slaves.
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/master/slave _ (technology)

why we use slave processes?

As a database user, don't use us the slave processes, they are self being created by master the process if necessary/configured.

When it is used?

At the call of the master of the process.
I have collected just under 22 slave process in Oracle database 11.2:

BMRn:Automatic Block Media Recovery Slave Pool Process
Bnnn:ASM Blocking Slave Process for GMON
CSnn:I/O Calibration Process
DRnn:ASM Disk Resynchronization Slave Process
DSKM:Slave Diskmon Process
Ennn:EMON Slave Process
GCRn:Global Conflict Resolution Slave Process
Innn:Disk and Tape I/O Slave Process
INSV:Data Guard Broker Instance Slave Process
Jnnn:Job Queue Slave Process
Mnnn:MMON Slave Process
NSSn:Redo Transport NSS1 Process
NSVn:Data Guard Broker NetSlave Process
Onnn:ASM Connection Pool Process
Pnnn:Parallel Query Slave Process
PRnn:Parallel Recovery Process
Qnnn:AQ Server Class Process
Rnnn:ASM Block Remap Slave Process

  • in parallel to the max, process, process servers parallel slave: relationship

    Hello

Need help to understand the relationship of what follows.

I have a database with the following in the init ora.

    test > view parallel_max_servers setting

    Value of parameter TYPE
    ------------------------------ ----------- -----------------------------------
    PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS integer 400

test > view the process of setting

    Value of parameter TYPE
    ------------------------------ ----------- -----------------------------------
    whole process 500

    Select * from v$ resource_limit
    2 where resource_name = '' process. ''

    RESOURCE_NAME CURRENT_UTILIZATION MAX_UTILIZATION
    ------------------------------ ------------------- ---------------
    INITIAL_ALLOCATION LIMIT_VALUE
    ------------------------------ ------------------------------
    process 452 500
    500 500

    Question:

Linux machine, I see the PX server with ps - ef | grep 'database_name ' | WC-l-> value is to achieve a greater it 400, but less than 500. My understanding is that parallel_max_servers specifies the maximum number of processes parallel slave that an instance is allowed to have both. Why is that process parallel slave of the ps - ef | grep 'database_name ' | WC-l reached above 400. In addition, this has been verified in v$ resource_limit. The value of the column process reached above 400.

    Thank you.

I said "processes_ Server _all (Oracle), including both background processes.

There are 3 types of processes:
1 background (DWBR, LGWR, PMON etc.)
2 (dedicated or shared server) process for the user sessions
3 Parallels operators (also called process a ParallelQuery or ParallelSlave)

You have 26 other methods for user sessions.

  • Process creates the CPU to overheat and the Fans to run like crazy:

I am ripping DVDs on different Macbook cradle fully aware that it's requiring treatment.

The 2011 with 16 GB of ram and hard disk SSD, the process runs on 330% of the processor, blasting the ability and heat

    revolves around 100 c/213 F.

Interesting enough the same process on 2 late Mo Pro 2008 with less ram do not overheat in the extraction process. The program are identical on all the Pros of 3 MB. The processes are the same, but on the old MBpros the processor load is between 130-150% up to more heating is not that great a problem.

But the MBPro of 2011 with top material tearing overheating of the processor and fans running at full speed.

I noticed that too much work with other programs or is running only a few programs at the same time seem to heat from the processor and the fans make some noise + cpu run hot with my MBpro 2011 and El Capitan.

It is possible to restrict a program that use a large part of the resources to avoid overheating?

    Other solutions?

Well a Late 2008 Macbook Pro has a intel core 2 duo, so the max he could run is 200% (2 CPUs time 100%) if the application can do enough on 2 processors in parallel.

Your 2011 Macbook Pro has very probably a 4 core CPU intel i7 with hyper-threading.  If an application can use hyper-fils, there is a potential of 800% max.  The 330% could just be that the DVD cannot keep up with the CPU, so it does not hit its maximum potential because of the famine of data.

I don't know if the speed of the DVD drive in 2008 was the same as the 2011.  If the 2011 is able to read data more quickly than the 2008, then it can provide given the CPU faster, keep the much busier CPU so it can consume more power, and more power consumption more than the heat generated.

MacBook pro 2011 ends a DVD in less time than the 2008?

Basically, you are trying to compare 'Granny Smith' vs 'Golden Delicious' apples and expects the same taste.

Regarding the other programs, put this SSD in your Macbook Pro means that any code or data that the application needs to get the disc are convinced order or magnitude faster, so that the application did not slow the CPU and keep crank, causing the CPU to keep them busy and thus attract more power, which is converted into heat causing fans to run.

It is also possible that your SSD generates more heat.  Solid State does not always mean longer running costs.  Much would depend on the brand and the model of the SSD and it is the power profile, and it draws more power for writing vs readings, and how much nature more expensive power you're done.

Information point.  I put an SSD in my 2009 27 "iMac and it works more hot because my iMac can do more in less time.  I put an SSD in my Macbook Pro 2011 and if I ask him to do a lot of work, like backups, it starts its fans, as the SSD is always quick to provide data for backup, there is no waiting for the discs, leaving the lower idle CPU.

    Hello

    > Otherwise - where can I download the previous version of the bios where this selection is possible?
This is not possible because it is always the newest available BIOS can be downloaded.

With regard to the option in the BIOS.
Do you mean you are not able to choose this option or you can't change the value?

    Toshiba BIOS:
Usually the buttons PgUp / PdDn would change the BIOS page. The arrow buttons to select items. SPACE or BkSp can be used to change the values.

But note; You can only change the value if it s interchangeable. But many options appear in the BIOS but is not editable.

    Hello

The error log doesn't provide very useful information.
According to this error log, the simulation was running OK, but the burning process has not been started.
In such cases, it is very difficult to say why it happens. Maybe the drive is damage and cannot calibrate the lens correctly or using media is not compatible.
Burning the process depands on the fields and the data that prefer to burn.
Data, CD, DVDs are encrypted and it s is not possible to burn and copy it.
In other cases, you can also try to burn media with low speed and not with 24 x.

But to sentence case you the reader has a malfunction and you need to replace ;(

  • New HP HARD drive > load recovery disks > fails to start after the installation process on the press continue

I have Pavilion d7-4165dx laptop. I saw US, that made a purchase of the United States (BestBuy).

-HARD drive failed after renewal of antivirus software trial period.

-All diagnoses would not recognize the HARD drive.

-Support HP said still in warranty, but I am out of country.  HP said more was likely HARD drive cable.

-Buy cables and a hand off USA door.

    -Installed, always the same answer.

-Ordered the new HP's HARD drive.  Out of stock.  Finally inquiring was commissioned to a part 3rd US rep.  He recommended to buy directly from output, but higher speed.  Did this and then HP replacement HARD drive arrives.  Both outside the U.S. door hand.

-Install the fastest (slightly smaller) Seagate 500G 7200.  Has started the recovery with discs of recovery (5 in total who received from BestBuy, but not the OEM to the research), but before the new HARD drive is smaller than the original WD 640 G 5400.   Put WD #1 Bay and Seagate in #2.

-Start the process of disk recovery.  Any resumption of the process of the plant and on the last drive-through, it says do not touch while the PC starts on and outside, etc.  Said so press on continue continue.

-When the press continue, simply goes to the black screen with "No boot device...". »

-Run the other options, the same message.

-Diagnosis of ran.  Drive HARD everything is OK.

-Called HP support.  It says I have to buy the HP recovery discs.  Those I have (5) is not the right one, there should be only 3!  They are that I got from BestBuy, but look like they were made here when BestBuy configures the PC.

    Suggestions anyone?

Someone has found the problem for me today...

"Put WD #1 Bay and Seagate in #2.

  • "App: unplug the slave" method

I tried to use the ' Appslave isconnect "method on a project with a goal of RIO (MyRIO) currently connected and the method completes without error, but it does not cut the target in my project. I tried to play, selecting items in the project window and making even the project window above and active before you make the call without success.

How this method is intended to be used?  What happens if I multipl target in my project?

OK - this issue initially came from a position of LAVA and I'll copy paste the answer I posted here even IF not all relevant here in case someone else needs!

I played a bit more with the feature today and it really seemed that the invoke node called "App: unplug the slave" had to be called in the aim of RT himself to work, as that proposed on the forum of NOR. Then, I tried other tests to see if it is possible to run a VI directly on an RT target (which is located in your project). At first, I thought that it was not possible and that he could not understand until I found this link: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Loading-and-Running-a-VI-on-a-cRIO-from-a-PC/td-p/796657 . I think that gives you actually your solution by explaining that each target has its own instance of the application (also the search to 'Work with Instances of application', as a 'Concept' in the help file for LV [2014 in my case]). Is the way to acquire (or at least my way because I couldn't directly give the IP address of the RIO) was:

-App-> Project.ActiveProject->-> [appropriate Index] targets-> Application-> "disconnect from the slave.

    Notes:

-"Project.ActiveProject" seems to be a scripting (bottom of bue) VI

-The property node 'Application' is located near the end of the list

Silently, it disconnects the cRIO and may be able to delete your popup if done shortly after asking the RT to restart. With the same reference App, you can also programmatically launch a VI to the target host (even by pressing the arrow to run with cRIO selected target.) It could certainly be useful for you too if you need delay the restart to stop the pop up. I want to say, deploy your application for CompactRIO with the "Run As Startup" active, then get the reference of the App, and run a simple VI that resets the CompactRIO after a few seconds late. During this time, call the node to invoke 'Disconnect the slave' and your pop up should be gone...

Let me know if it works for you!

  • What happens when two parallel process call the same VI in an FPGA?

    Hi all

I was wondering, what happens when say two parallel processes call the same Subvi in an FPGA? I think that the FPGA would create two instances of the Subvi, not sure. Any point of view?

    Thank you

    Altras

I don't know if the FPGA adds any ordinary special, but in LabVIEW rule and in LabVIEW Real-time, a VI by default is not reentrant.  Therefore, a process that is called when it is already in use is blocked and must wait.

If the VI is reentrant, however, then you have two (or more) for the VI dataspaces, so that each can run independently.

  • Why are there no end process in the Task Manager tab.

Why are there no end tab process in the Task Manager because it usta be a on windows xp, that makes it eaiser to end a game if you do not want it to start. In addition, some games when you exit out of them sometimes play on words to say (on steam) is currently unavailable. That when I try to log out of steam to get the game to work again, he says "game works must end game before disconnection which is the process you need to put end to which you can't because there is no process tab.

    Hi dontknopass,

    a. what game you try to play?
    b. did you a software or hardware changes recently?
    c. normally, you should get a process in the Task Manager tab, end process tab is located at the bottom of the Task Manager window.

    Method 1.
If you think that any activity of virus that I highly recommend to run the Virus Scan.
I recommend you to run online Virus Scan to remove any infections, as appropriate.
Follow the link below to start the free online scan:

    Method 2.
Let us see if we can get into safe mode, we can perform a clean boot for troubleshooting.
Please check if you are facing the same question when working in safe mode.
    Step 1 Mode safe
    1. reboot your computer.
    2. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows 7 Advanced Startup Options.
    3. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode safe.
    4. press the Enter key on your keyboard to start in safe mode of Windows 7.
    5. when Windows starts, you will be at a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Windows 7 goes into safe mode.
6 do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

    Step 2 clean boot
If you have the tab process end in safe mode you will need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.
Here are the steps to do:
    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    The user account control permission.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type
    password, or click on continue.
    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load starting points.
    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is resolved to check what is the cause of the problem, referring to the link given below:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    8. in addition, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the software problem on your computer.
Reset the computer to start as usual
    9. When you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

    10. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    11. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps.

  • Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?

Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?

There is no resource manager (or resource monitor) in the XP Task Manager.

Please read these notes I send to the people who are (sometimes) concerned about the svchost.exe process number they see on their system or when it looks like one of their svchost.exe process has run amok.  We can not all apply to your situation, but I don't want to type in a bunch of stuff once again.  Then get Process Explorer and you will be able to be Omniscient:

To help understand your processes svchost.exe and what is running under them, read this article and you will be smarter than the average bear:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.html

You may be able to get clues with what is happening with your svchost.exe process using the Task Manager and maybe understand.

You will always be able to understand what is happening with your svchost.exe process if you use Process Explorer.

Download Process Explorer, so you can see what is 'really' running on your system, especially behind those svchosts several process see you in the running task manager.

    Download Process Explorer from here:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it.  Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.

Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.

Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems.   You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future.  You can always run the original tasks as Manager.

Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window.  Now you can really see what is running on the system.

Here's a screenshot of my poor system when I use Process Explorer:

    http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2567/ProcessExplorer.PNG

The CPU column is usually the most interesting start with performance issues - which uses the most?

It is OK and normal to have several svchost exe processes running.  Important XP Services are actually running under svchost.exe processes. There are sometimes an XP Service that runs under a svchost.exe process, sometimes there are several Services in XP, which runs under a svchost.exe process.

Sometimes malware will hide behind a svchost.exe process because the malware knows that you won't be able to find it in the Task Manager.  He will hide behind a svchost.exe process to deceive you, but you can outsmart it.

Malicious software can disguise itself also seems to be a legitimate process of XP or he could hide under/behind other processes that you see running in Task Manager if you can't see the execution.

The malware would trick you into thinking you must use a System Restore Point, run a repair install or reinstall your XP from scratch when you really don't.

Looking at the display in process Explorer, you want the CPU most to be associated with the system idle process.  It's 'free time' on your system, so more time there, more free.

If you look at the graphs of performance and see red spikes (or not) double click the graphic in the upper left corner to display the graph to use.  Move the mouse over any pics to see what are the causes.  Even if the Spike has already scroll screen, you can still move the mouse over the edge to see what caused.  You can also just wait for a pic to happen and then see what caused the Spike.
