  Hi all

  We are in the process of upgrading R12.1.3 with 11.2.0.4, R12.2.5 database with 12.1.0.2 Applications database. I'm a little confused about the process to upgrade the database as part of the upgrade to 12.2.

  In accordance with the note "guidelines preparation of database for an E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Upgrade (Doc ID 1349240.1)", I'm reviewing step 2

  Upgrading to the last group of patches (conditional) database
  Customers currently on 11.2.0.3 or 12.1.0.1 must now move to the 11.2.0.4 or 12.1.0.2 within the upgrade 12.2 following the documented process in the appropriate Interoperability Notes (see the References section below). It is highly recommended clients on previous patchsets to the upgrade database to the last.
  
  Complete all steps in interoperability Notes except the following:

  • Check the versions of the software
    • R12 to 12.1.0.2 upgrades (12 c) must apply the 16289505 patch and patch 8796558interoperability *.
    • 11i upgrades to 12.1.0.2 (12 c) must apply the patch of interoperability 16289505 as well as other pre-required patches listed in the 11i Interoperability Notes (My Oracle Support Knowledge Document 1524399.1in the References section below) *.
  • Step 'Run patch post-installation instructions' under 'Database Upgrade' in Section 1
  • Apply patch ECX post-implementation level (in the Notes of interoperability R12/11 GR 2)
  • Recreate the grants and synonyms
  • Restart the application server process
  • Apply the Oracle human resources (HRMS) patch 7721754 (11 I only)
  • Select the database Vault
  • Synchronize the views of Workflow
    • Note that this step must be completed after the 12.2.0 upgrade and application of the last ORS 12.2 when all services are up to such noted in last step be

  This stage supposed to complete interoperability for 12.1.0.2 with R12.1.3? Am I wrong?

  As I'm not going to bring up the applications before upgrade R12.2, that I have to perform interoperability for 12.1.3 or can I perform the steps of interoperability for 12.1,0.2 with 12.2?

  Yes the Workflow 11i is obsolete and there is no separate accreditation of Workflow R12.

  The screenshot of the process the Workflow tool that you used looks like it helped a split occurs with no melting downstream point.

  This is not allowed in BPMN.  Parallel and inclusive gateways must have a downstream melting point.  Because the model you have described has no melting point, it would be better managed using an activity to send without being involved a bridge.

  Once this activity send is called, another process (or service) is called asynchronously.  In this case, the process called can contain activities that you are showing "Path 2".  Once the send activity is called, the work item instance continues to the next step of the original process automatically and would go maybe through the series of activities that you testify "Path 1".

  No, adpatch of use without option because you will need to copy and generate the files in the patch you downloaded from the e-Delivery Web site.

  When I reload an xml repository model design, I lose mappings of source-target of a process of data flow diagram. I wonder why.
  
  The way it goes is:
  -Define a flow diagram data banks of information, processes and workflows.
  -Information structures are defined on the workflow and information reflected down to the processes and stores information.
  -In a process, I defined mapping Source-target by selecting a target element, and then by selecting the source element.
  -J' I save the entire model.
  -So far, the mapping of the Source-target maintains the link between the source and target.
  -If I leave Modeler data, next time I reload the saved template, the mapping target Source-target associations to elements of source are lost!

  Hi Mario,.

  There are a few errors in the definitions of meta data and you can change them - are located in datamodeler\datamodeler\xmlmetadata directory.
  (1) bad method is used in the definition of Process.xml meta data file:
  

  getter = "getUpdatedTargetElements" should be replaced by
  getter = "getTargetElements" and it works

  also, there is an error in TargetElement.xml

  getItemByID = "getPartyByID" should be replaced by
  getItemByID = "getSourceByID."

  I'm working on EAI workflows. I use Siebel Tools Simulator and also the Business Service Simulator to test my workflow. However, I am facing some problems.
  
  I am not able to simulate my new workflow. However, all older workflows work properly. Here are the steps I take to simulate workflows:
  
  1. create a workflow in Siebel tools and click on the publish/enable button. Check if its status changed to finished.
  2. open the Client Web of Siebel > site map > Admin-Business Service > Simulator.
  3. process name 'Workflow Process Manager' and the name of the method "RunProcess".
  4. in the input Arguments: name "ProcessName" property and value of the property "NAME of the workflow.
  5. click on the run button.
  
  At this point, I get error like:

  ---------------------------
  Cannot execute workflow process definition "Test EAI Workflow 4". (SBL-RPR-00158)
  
  ---------------------------
  Ok
  ---------------------------
  
  However, the older workflow works very well with the same approach. I am able to simulate. Even I copied the existing workflows (that I'm capable of simulating) but they do not work either. :(

  You must enable the new workflows that you created. If you want to test the workflow in thin client and then manually import the workflow in the active workflow process and try to simulate.

  This error occurs if the workflow is not 'ACTIVE' in the process of active workflow under Administration - business processes.

  Deferred process: Present a great advantage of integrating your workflow process. An example is the booking order. It comes in two flavors. Deferred and online. When you use deferred essentially booking what you say the system is to give control back to the user and to "postpone" the booking process to the Workflow Engine background making the booking a batch process. This translates into faster data entry orders in high-volume industries. So if you say this setting as Yes if it runs the process of GBM what you say to pick up all the process workflow which are deferred to be dealt with by you (GBM).

  Process time: Similarly the workflow includes another feature where you can set the time-out period during an activity. Say you have send a notification to someone to approve it so that the order can be booked. If the person is on vacation and does not have rules defined workflow, what happens is that the order is waiting to be reserved until that person comes back from vacation. In this case, you can set the 'time out' in this activity to say 12 hrs. If there is no response within 12 hours, you can have the workflow to retry this activity again or send the notification to someone else or even ignore the notification and go ahead and book it. When you set this timeout as Yes, WBG checks if these 12 hours waiting at this activity (begin_date + 12 h). If so, it will move forward the process of workflow.

• TCP continues playback of the RT system

  Project:

  I have an AVR32 Board, which collects data continuously and sends it to a PC. The PC communicates with the AVR via LabVIEW for data processing and for example metrics. So far, I used a RS232 connection and processed incoming data through the VISA driver. But since the serial connection is so slow I want to now go to the TCP/IP protocol.

  Current state of work:

  With the connection in series, I checked the COM-port buffer every n milliseconds and processed data in a queue later. So basically my VI has checked if the PC has received something and processed immediately.

  Problem:

  So I tried to create a similar VI with TCP read and I thought I have neededed immediate mode. I wanted to do this since it is a continuous data stream with a custom protocoll where the package sizes vary. But while wireshark told me that data packets arrive, I can't read them in LV

  Basically I have the same problem as this guy But unfortunately he already worked on it without lighting poor bastards like me . So could you please help me with this?

  OK, I might have figured it out by myself. My problem was that I had to specify how many bytes to read. My VI received packets as soon as I said to wait 1 byte to read.

• Questions of BBM

  Hi, developing an application that integrates the blackberry Messenger, I found the following doubts:

  1 - when a user invites you to join a session, I cannot support without go to BBM and manually accept the invitation?  Can I do this automatically within my application?

  2. - to have a session on public and users to connect to it, is strictly necessary to implement a web service to process incoming requests? Can I have a generic session with examples of data to pass to my sendJoinRequest?

  Excuse my English, my native language Isn´t

  (1) I don't think that there is a way to do it automatically.  In this way the user has control, and nothing can happen without their approval.

  (2) you need not all web services for this. The BBM SDK takes care of everything.  Take a look at the sample of TicTacToe.

• Garbage in Orchestration server entries: responsibilities

  I see in the Orchestration server properties of the my CPO - tab of responsibilities, there are 3 entrances for subscription AMQP. On the 3, I use one in some of my workflows. But the other two "unknown (some id)" is not available in the POC and not used in a process or workflow. Am not able to find these entries under target AMQP. I tried to restart the POC service to see if these entries get flushed. But that didn't work either. Can someone explain please how to remove these entries?

  Did you have before AMQP targets and then delete them or something?

  Probably something hanging in the DB that should be removed. I suggest a TAC case and have them checked.
