Product key valid for re - install Win 8 in BootCamp partition

My Mac Mini (mid-2011, 500 GB Toshiba 2.5 HD) with a Win 8 installation enabled in OS x BootCamp is dead. (The logic board and HD are roasted) Can I reinstall a new version of Win 8 in another partition on another Mac BootCamp using the same product key to win 8 since the burned computer? If so, should I contact Microsoft Support number for this?

Yes, you can, phone activation will probably need:

1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

2. then press the ENTER"" key.

3. Select your "country" in the list.

4. choose the option "activate phone".

5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

I ring back again and get an operator who actually knows what they are doing - XP is still supported for activation problems, regardless of the level of MS, if I understand correctly.
Your problem seems to be that you have installed a version update of XP without having anything to upgrade? (I don't think that was possible).
Try to install the missing Service Packs - any attempt activation again.

In any case, if you did replace a hard drive, you don't have a new license or product key!

If a person returned frequently, he or she will receive a message asking them to call a phone number. If this is your situation, just do it and follow the instructions.

  • / boot/error bcd - W7 installed since ISO - no pre-installed product key valid when used

    Hello

I have a laptop HP dv6-6138 NR, 64 bit, Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed OA edition. Last week, my computer crashed after installing Flash HD and showed the mistake \boot\bcd 0xc0000225 error.

I couldn't do a system recovery, because there was no image that is spent on the computer that I went for a clean install with the repair disc I had created. Measures desperate - and downloaded an ISO of W7 to the MSFT forum file and went used imgburner to burn it to a DVD.

Then, to restart my laptop with this DVD in the installed Windows CD with my existing windows file that is stored in a folder called "windows.old". Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use the same product key as it was at the bottom of the laptoop. So, I jumped by giving the product key (I'll be ok for 30 days, I guess).

Now, I ordered a set of HP recovery disk. What should I do now to recover my factory settings on? Should I format the drive and it run the new recovery disc, I will get?

    Please advise...

    Hello

    You are welcome

Yes, that would explain why the key does not work - you can use it on the version of Windows that came with your laptop (ie you can upgrade or downgrade the version).

HP recovery discs should work fine and activation will be automatic.

A downloadable ISO for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit is on the following link.

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-59007.ISO

If using the image above, enter your activation key when prompted - you will always very probably use the 'method of phone' to complete activation.

    Best regards

  • Have the product key, but need to install media for Windows Vista Business

I have the windows key, but need to download Windows Vista Business. Where can I find? I do to decompress the ISO?

    * original title - I have the windows key, but you need to download Windows Vista Business. Where can I find? I do to decompress the ISO? *

    Hello

There is no free and legal Vista download

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista:

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  • Pavilion x 2: Windows product key Validation after hardware change (new SSD)

I have a Pavilion laptop x 2 with a 64 GB SSD.  It came with Windows 8.1 but he now works Windows 10 - of course.  I decided to upgrade the 256 GB SSD.  I bought the appropriate module (a Sandisk).  I recently contacted Windows support to inquire about the procedure to validate the OS once I did the material exchange.  I wasn't sure how it would work since my x 2 Pavilion has incorporated into BIOS product key.  Microsoft told me that because I was going to do a hardware change I would need a new product key (in other words my laptop current product key would be 'blocked').  I was able to recover the product key of my Pavilion x 2 (OEM and installed keys - what is the difference?).

Does anyone have experience in this field?  Once I have replace the SSD and perform a clean install Windows 10, will be the key to product embedded BIOS validate operating system or it will reject?  Since I'm NOT buying a HP SSD (with preloaded operating system) and that my x 2 Pavilion is now long out of warranty?  I really have to pay over a hundred dollars for a new Windows operating system license?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

    Francis

Parameters indicate that I have a digital right so with a bit of luck when I change the SSD and install Windows 10, the machine must validate without a qualm.  I tried to see if I could link my Validation of my Microsoft account but I did not have this option on my settings (although in the past when I re-install Windows 10, link validation of my Microsoft account operating system so I guess it works.)  Also, I guess I have the anniversary edition from my machine updated automatically.

If all else fails, I'll see how it goes after the SSD upgrade and if I have to deal with Microsoft.  I also agree with you that change the SSD (essentially the ' drive') is NOT a significant change in equipment and shall not impose a new product key, but then, nothing surprises me more.

Your tips were helpful and I thank you.

  • Expression Studio product key problem on re - install

I lived all the help from microsoft and supported sites and forums (and several others) and there are questions similar but although I can work on them (all sources) what's going on I can't find an answer, and the only way I can get the support of Microsoft is to pay for it because of this problem , emailing them led it is suggessted I ask here so sorry if I am repeating something already asked but I really don't know what else to do.

I bought Studio Expression a couple of years ago for my daughter (the memory blurred here but I am sure it's the version 1 but has been upgraded via download on 2 as a special microsoft encouragement - as they do now for 3-4).  It has been installed and works very well then the hard drive has not changed, re-installed and all worked fine again until a few weeks ago when problems of memory led to one perfect reformat and re-install. Studio expression re will not activate as it claims that my product key is not valid. I also can't support since it requires my product key and said "there is a problem" with him when I entered it.

Expression Studio now seems running on the 60-day trial license, I need to find a way to overcome this problem without having to hand over my credit card data to microsoft for support.

I had already decided to update its version (she uses it because his school do and they are still using version 2) but in no way can I do if the reason why I came to understand of what is correct.

My pc is custom made and as such comes with no software installed and so I buy all my separately from the software, it is not the OEM versions.  I have Windows Vista 64-bit on the affected system and everything worked very well on that front.

  • Windows 7 product key valid and active but has not updated PK on computer

I managed to install Windows 7 as a dual boot on an ancient tower XP I have upgared by adding the SSD with W7 installed while XP is on the old partition C.

The product key has been entered and validated successfully and I've been able to pre-order Windows 10, which is the ultimate goal

My question is the Prouct Key on the computer is always the old XP number is this OK, or will I run into problems of 30 days?

Product keys are unique for the version and edition of Windows.

You need to rephrase the last question.

I dual-boot with another edition of Windows, update will affect other facility?

No, it will not affect the other operating system, only the version of Windows from which the upgrade is initiated will be replaced.

In 30 days, Windows 7 will make an attempt to connect to the Internet activation. Afterwards, it prompts you whenever you connect, to activate.

  • Is a Windows 7 license key valid for both 32-bit and 64-bit?

I received today an NFR of Windows 7 Ultimate copy at the launch of Microsoft.  He has a valid (I hope!) but license key the DVD is 32-bit.  The same license key is valid for the 64-bit installations as well?  In other words, if I get a copy of the DVD 64 bit, can I use the license key, I just got?

It is a new installation on a system that currently has Vista 32 bit.

    Thank you
    ... /Ed

Now that I know that Win 7 64 bit works very well with my hardware.  Can I legally get my Windows Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit?  And keep two versions of Windows 7 on the same machine.

If you have a license of Windows 7, you can have a Windows 7 installation.

To install Windows 7 32 bit, you will need to first format/remove 64-bit install.

You will need to purchase a license/second key to install Windows 7 twice at the same time. There is no discount on a second license if you already have a license.

    Hello

You could not lost the product key because the recovery disk is already activated.
So you n t need any key to install the OS by using the recovery disk.

But if you have lost the recovery disc then you can order it from here:

But it s not free, you will have to pay a small fee.

  • Product key required for Windows XP Service Pack 2 download.

I had to back up my data and reinstall Windows, yesterday. I downloaded Windows XP Service Pack 2 installation network for IT professional and developers using Dell's Support Package. Everything seemed to be working fine until I opened a Word 2002 document and asked for a product key. I ran Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and product key turns out to be xxxxx-xxxxx-GD6GR-K6DP3-4C8MT. What can I do?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a test free version comes preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you reinstalled Windows)?
