  However, any of these are displayed on the outside of my machine anywhere.

  I happen to know the product name and serial number. I was able to find other ways - that is not the issue. As far as I know, these physical labels should have with the machine.

  Was it simply a mistake during Assembly, or Lenovo just stopped putting on these labels? If the first case, is there a way to ask Lenovo send me these labels? If the latter, Lenovo might consider updating the page linked above.

  Any inisight would be duly appreciated.

  My T460p shows the T460p at the bottom right of the screen and the serial number and the code of the product under the battery. But the T460 is very dark on the corner of the screen, and Seraglio/product numbers appear on the very dark black label under the battery.

  Windows and Intel are telling me that my hard drive is about to fail, but no reason is given. The drive is only about a third full.  I saved everything according to the instructions of Windows but don't know how to proceed.  Windows tell me to contact the computer manufacturer to determine if the disk must be replaced or repaired, but as my PC is now out of warranty I do not know if HP would be able to help me.

  I have attached a PNG file with two errors.  Printing of Intel is not very clear but says "drive on Port 0: at risk.  I have reset the error but it keeps re-appearance.

  Can someone point me in the right direction to have this issue resolved for example find a cause and repair or replace the drive?

  I think it will be best to replace the hard drive with a new one. As @wb2001 writes that you can try to clone your current OS using a cloning software, and if you decide to go with a WD drive, you can use Acronis True Image WD Edition:

  For some reason, it seems that the update of the BIOS wiped out relevant info in your BIOS. It will require repairs at HP to restore the info.

  There are two options available.

  1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

  Order HP recovery disks.

  2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

  Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

  An example of a COA label can be seen here.

  You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

  I looked towards the top of your card and you have an i5 processor, so you have 2 slots and the laptop can take up to 16 GB of RAM in the form of a pair of 8 GB SO-DIMM of DDR3L-1600 modules. 16 gigs is more than likely, you need and 2 x 4 will be many. For 8 (2 x 4), you just get a module more than 4 GB.

  Now for the bad news. See page 76 of the manual. Memory access requires the removal of the motherboard, which is not an easy task.
