  @oopsys: don't be upset by NOT Win10 to stay with Win8x and running.  I was one of the first initiates Windows Win10 test and I found so disappointing changes that I returned to Win8.1 and have had recourse which thankfully since then.

  Yes, you are sure to go to Win8.1 - and continue to use it as long as you want.

  MS can update your PC to Win10, but they do this by hiding the fact that you can prevent that from happening.  Finally, upgrade Win10 icon will appear in your tray system again, and when that is done, Windows Update allows you to hide the other updates - make you think you NEED to do the upgrade, but you don't have to.

  When that happens, there will be some fine print to show ALL updates.  When you click on that, you can see the level of Win10 in the list of updates.  Right-click on this update and select hide.  If he STOPS to update.

  If in warranty, you should contact HP support to address this problem. Looks like a bad keyboard.

  There is no information online about what audio chip model has your laptop.

  Please post the hardware ID of the device you see listed in the device as a Multimedia Audio Controller Manager and I will see then if there is a driver W7 or equivalent driver, which you can use.

  To find the hardware ID, click the multimedia Audio Controller in Device Manager.

  Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window multimedia Audio Controller.

  Now you will see a drop-down list of property and it will be set to the Description of the unit.

  On this list and select the 2nd (Hardware ID).

  After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  I got a recommended set the HP Support Assistant program to update update for HP Notebook System BIOS (AMD processors).  I installed the update to the BIOS but the HP Support Assistant still says I need to run the BIOS update.  So I ended that run the BIOS update 2 times more but it prompt update with the exclaimation point in the promgram HP Support Assistant to delay the update of the BIOS is always there to want me to install the BIOS update.

  1. If machine BIOS update after downloading, it will automatically start the system and show you the whole process and progress.

  2 just by downloading the BIOS update does not update. However no Expert here don't advise update BIOS to do as a routine, including through HPSA.

• Pavilion e9107c: 10 dvd/cd drivers windows

  My PC has a DVD/CD Hitachi GH40L which worked fine in Windows 7, but is not recognized by Windows 10.  It starts from the CD, but does not appear in the device driver.  I went through the process of Regedit to remove the top from the bottom & filters and removed and replaced the drive.

  I managed to find the solution for my problem.  This could be a help to others with the same problem.  Enter the command-line as administrator and type:

  Reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" / f/v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

  Then reboot and the drive should now be discovered by Device Manager and work perfectly.

  Try the driver for chipset southbridge AMD from AMD (first listed file).
