Product recovery CD won't load - Satellite A100-712

Hello, my problem is quite simple:

I don't want to recover the original configuration of my laptop, but my original factory, that PR CD will not load.

It seems to be visible on other computers, model in question has work the disc drive (other CD and DVD work fine).

But whenever I try to start it, trying to read, after a certain time there is little * beep * sound, player is discordant sounds, and everything is repeated...

Drive can not even seen by the reader. It has literally never been used, and starts on other PCs, so I doubt that the disc is dysfunctional...

So I'm not really sure THAT WTH could happen.

Thanks for any help.

Hello

How have you tried to recover the laptop? Have you tried to boot from the recovery disc?
Maybe your CD/DVD drive laser lens is dirty and cannot handle the drive.
Try to clean the lens of alcohol or tip of wadding and then try to boot from the disc again.

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite A100-712. He took BT BT worked perfectly before reinstalling windows. I reinstalled windows using the original Toshiba Recovery CD. After you have reinstalled, BT is no longer working. Monitor of BT icon does not appear. When I swicht BT on (Fn + F8 or "manual switch on the lid of the laptop) it starts installing bluetooth. But the installation progress bar stops at some point and that's all. I tried waiting etc, but nothing helped.
You can only cancel the instalation.

I tried several versions of BT software, but even with the original - provided on the recovery CD, it doesn't. I am attaching the screenshot. As far as I know, the problem is quite common, but I have found no satisfactory solution...

I hope you can help me with this!

    Hello

You are right. The A100-712 supports Bluetooth without a doubt.
Then you should be able to install the BT stack correctly.

As mentioned; BT can be activated properly using FN + F8 and installation starts as well, but he does not terminate
Hmm I'm not quite sure what could cause this but maybe his problem of m system software.
I think it is to recover the laptop once more
Activate BT, then check if the progress bar would begin and could complete the installation.

I have formatted the hard drive of my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-712, downloaded the sound and drivers BT of this amazing site.

But there is still a problem.
In Device Manager, there are yellow signs with the realtek drivers and bt. I don't know what to do?

Please, you can list the steps for a correct installation for these drivers?

    Hello

First question: why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery CD?
This CD contains all the drivers, tools and utilities, and you do not have to install any drivers separately

Secondly: The Toshiba driver page, you should find the installation instructions document
Just follow the order of installation mentioned in the txt file and everything should work!

PS: Don't forget to use the right drivers. I think that the A100-712 is outside the PSAA9E series

The installation is completed normally (went through all the steps, wrote to all 21 blocks) without any error, but after the reboot, I noticed that it is now displayed at the Toshiba logo screen.

The blue progress bar moves twice but got caught then about 1/3 of the way through.
To see how bad the damage was, I Press esc at the beginning of the POST and saw that it gives me the right Version of the BIOS (6.00).

    Hello

I posted this already in another view about a similar BIOS problem.

To me, it seems that something was wrong during the process of updating the BIOS, and if you're lucky, the flashing of the ROM BIOS might help you.

As far as I know that you would need a BIOS version of special rescue and the drive to reflash the module ROM that you do not and therefore, you will need to contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

This isn't a real solution that you expect, but it s an advice how to get a solution
This is why I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country for the control of the laptop

  • Constant bluescreens on Satellite A100-712

I bought Toshiba A100-712 a few weeks ago. I have constant bluescreens when loading Windows or out of Hibernation. It takes a lot of time to load the system - maybe after 5 - 10 times. I don't know what I have to do. It seems to load Windows when the laptop is "warm-up a bit".
Some of the error codes I wrote:

Reinstalling the CD recovery system works at all, it makes no sense - even after the appearance of the new system installation problem.
I checked the ram (Memtest), but it revealed nothing.

    Hello

It's very strange question. You did the upgrades material, is any permanent external device connected to your laptop?

If your laptop has factory hardware configuration with the use of recovery DVDs delivered something like that shouldn't happen. In my opinion, you should contact the customer Service of Toshiba partner in your country and let check the device. They test it with own HARD drive and see if the same thing will happen.

    I doubt s a defective recovery disc.
Error message: missing or corrupted: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys could be caused by hardware or other component defective HARD drive.
In your case, I recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP for the verification of the material with the new installation of the OS. The laptop is under warranty (as you suggest in the display above) and so everything should be done for free because it s covered by the warranty

  • Satellite P10 - 504 - recovery disk will not load

Someone at - it ideas why my recovery disks won't load, all I get is a window box asking what would like to windows do you, like what you get when you insert a video or music disc, I'm sure the last time I used them only, they went directly into the recovery mode [, I had a major flaw which I managed about sort [see disappear down the page IE] but I need to start printing] Thank you

    Hello

    > all I get is a window box asking what would like to windows do you, like what you get when you insert a music disc or vid
This means you want to use the recovery disc in Windows? It will not work.

The point is that you must boot from the recovery disc rather Windows on the HARD drive so until the computer starts to go into the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive like device starting. Make sure that the recovery disk is in the drive and the recovery disk will start. Now follow the instructions on the screen.

  • How to use product recovery CD-rom?

How to use product recovery cd-rom on the satellite A40 range?

    Hi Daniel,.

To use the recovery CD, simply insert the first CD (assuming there are two) in the CD drive and then just turn on your laptop while pressing the 'C' key on the keyboard. This will cause the laptop to load a minimal operating system on the CD that will start the process of recovery of the product.

You should also be an initial menu that asks you if you want to do a complete system restore or restore 'Expert'. The full restore will delete all of your 'C' drive and will then install the entire system (excluding all the extras you'll have to install afterwards). The recovery of 'Expert' will allow you to partition your hard drive before you install the operating system in the C"" drive.

    Kind regards

    Hello

    Try this page:

Otherwise if you get the message that this service is not available for this model of laptop you must use a Microsoft Windows disk.
The driver can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

  • How can I get my Satellite Pro A100 product recovery media?

When I bought my A100, I didn't any of the product recovery media. I assumed it would be pre - installed on a partition of my hard drive. Seems not to be the case.

I want to resize my main partition to allow me to install linux on the space that would be made available. While Linux will do for me, just in case there is an error, I need a copy of the product for XP and other software pre-installed recovery media. Direct contacts on the Toshiba site are difficult to locate.

So I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction? I am a UK user.

    Hello

If the recovery disk was not supplied with the laptop, then you should be able to create a recovery disk using the preinstalled tool called Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
I think that you didn t read the user manual after you have received the laptop

Anyway usually the recovery disc can be ordered here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But not all the recovery discs would be available, especially if the laptop series was abandoned this means that you can not order a recovery disc if the laptop series is too old you can also try to contact a local ASP (partner) in your country for assistance and could try to order this disc it.

Otherwise, you must use an original disc of MS Windows all drivers can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.

  • No recovery expert on Satellite A100-237 option?

    Hello

I own a laptop Satellite A100-237 which, after a long struggle with attacks from viruses and Trojans, needs a system recovery. I have a package of product recovery 2-CD with Windows XP Home edition with SP2 and all of the drivers/tools etc and the process is supposed to be pretty simple - but I have a serious issue at hand: Partitions.

My 80 GB HD is divided into two partitions: A 60 GB c: the operating system and general purpose and a 20 GB D: for backups of EXTREME IMPORTANCE. Now that I know I can use a 'expert recovery mode"to recover my system while maintaining the back-ups. Now, it's actually where the problem comes in.

When I boot from the restore CD there is absolutely NO OPTION for the 'EXPERT' YEAR RECOVERY MODE!

Simply, I am greeted by a language selection screen. Spent, the family Windows XP Setup option in English or localized version (Turkish, in my case), in both cases the HD everything is wiped out. Next there is a "Cancel" button and a button "settings". 'Abandonment', as well as the label says, shut down the computer. 'Settings', on the other hand, are more complicated. You are presented with a window with a nice slider which culminates at 76 GB - you are supposed to set a default size installation partition. However, in this case, the HD everything gets wiped out as well - you get only a partition of the installation and the remaining space becomes simply "unallocated". I tried each way for a cost of losing all my backups several times without success.

In both cases there is no option to install the operating system on a predefined partition.

There is no 'expert recovery option' accessible from any where inside the installation routine.

I contacted the local Toshiba customer service and Tech Services. and their response is identical and hilarious: "your hard drive is not intended to be used in partitions. You NEED to recover your system as a single partition. Otherwise you won't be eligible to warranty AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE! »

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something inside this installation routine, and there should be a way to preserve the back-ups and retrieve only the first partition. Any information would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    I understand that you're frustrated.
As much as I know expert recovery mode is not available on the recovery CD because it s a new generation of mobile phones.
As far as I know since 2006, Toshiba laptops come with the new version of the recovery CD. This CD contains the option instead of the normal or expert mode settings.
But in the settings, you should be able to change the size of the HARD disk as in expert mode.

My Satellite phone was delivered with a single partition and I guess that all laptops are delivered also with a single partition (instead of a few Qosmio that uses a Qosmio player on hidden partition). Generally, the recovery CD brings the laptop to factory settings.
I think that every computer made manufacturing only supported hardware issues and not the problems of software (partition is a software problem and does not appear as a factory setting). If you want to do something different on the laptop that you can do, but it s not supported by any computer manufacturing. So I can understand the service guy.

However, the issue of your partition. I think the option settings should allows you to create a new game or to select the partition where the OS is to be installed.
In disk management, you can activate the remaining space and the partition must be visible.
Try to make a backup of your second partition and play with these settings.
